Hello everyone it's me again. I'm here with a new book. Before I get to the chapter, let me just say that the anime was one of the best animes I've ever watched. Anyway, this books is strictly just the reader x Violet, no other girls. Now without a further a do, let's get into the chapter.

POV: You

Part 1.

This war that I'm in, it's taken too much life, it's taken to much from me. I sit in this dirt trench with soldiers I have been with since I joined the military, They aren't just soldiers, They are my brothers. We've survived 5 years together, well most of us who have survived. I was 13 when I joined the military, They told me that a 13 year old shouldn't join the military but I didn't care, the war had taken to much from me and my goal was to finish this damn war with my own 2 hands. Within the battalion of my around 250 brothers, I was the Captain. We were some of the most experienced soldiers in the war, being one of the longest lasting battalions at the moment and we are all committed to finishing this war so that we can get back home, So we decided to go into enemy territory to cut off as much of their supply routes as possible.

I peak over the top of the trench and looked through no mans land to see most of the soldiers sleeping with only a few awake in another trench and behind them was one of the Galdarik Empire's most vital supply depot. When we take that out, the war will surely be over, and after the battle I was right. It was seven in the morning and the light of the morning sun had just started to cover the battlefield. I sunk back into the trench and looked to my right. I see my right hand man Leo with his rifle in hand.

"Leo, tell me, is everyone awake?" I asked him.

"Yeah" He replies "Got a plan?"

"Tell everyone that we will be going in 5 minutes from now. Make sure the howitzers are prepared for the initial attack before we go in" I tell him.

"Understood" he says then starts running along the trench telling everyone the plan.

As Leo did that I put my gas mask on and put my hammer on my back. I made sure everything was secure, my M1911 pistol in its holster, my sledge hammer on my back, and all of my other equipment and ammo. I then picked up my M1 Garand.

So your outfit is basically Sledge'a elite outfit from rainbow six siege but without the hat.

It's  been 5 minutes and everyone was waiting for my signal to charge in. We had 10 howitzers aimed at the trench.

"Fire!" I shout.

All 10 howitzers are fires at the same time, each of the shells landed in or near the enemy trench killing many men.

"Charge!" I yell.

Everyone starts getting out of the trench and  shouted as we ran towards the enemy trench. With my Garand in hand I shot the few men at the MGs as I ran. After the ring of my empty clip ejecting out of the gun I load another clip in. I watched as the enemy struggled to fight back and not even land a shot on one of use. Men poke their heads out of the trench and I shoot them in the heads. As I neared the trench I put my Garand on my back and took my hammer. I jumped into the trench and there was a man next to me with his gun pointed at my head. I gripped my hammer with both hands and swung it to the side of his head killing him. Another man comes from the left, charging at me with a bayonet,I swing over my head and hit the guy over the top of his head sending him into the muddy floor of the trench. Blood ran out of the open wound on his head.

Those were just 2 of the hundreds if not thousands of soldiers I killed while on the battlefield. Some of them I killed with my hammer and some with a gun.  Now I sit with my brothers on a train back to Leiden 3 months after the war had ended, 3 months of being considered the lost battalion. For 3 months we were stuck in the Galdarik Empire's territory where the war wasn't considered over by the soldiers. We sat in the seats of the train car finally being able to relax, but the thoughts of the war never left any of our minds. The guilt of killing the men I did ran through me.

"Was the men I killed worth it? Staining my hands in the blood of others, taking away other peoples family just because the war took so much family from me, my hatred for the ones that took my family but now......Now I feel like it wasn't worth the pain, guilt and grief"

"Hey, you okay?" Leo asks as he sits next to me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just the guilt of the war is getting to me" I tell him.

"Are you happy to be able to finally see your mother and younger sister?, I can't wait to see my mom and dad" Leo tells me.

"Yeah I'm happy, but you can't be happy when you know that a family on the other side won't have their family coming home because we killed them" I say in a tone full of sorrow.

"I agree" he says while seeing my point before smiling "but look on the bright side, we're alive"

"Yeah" I say trying to brighten up.

"Ohh, you know who you should fine once we get back to Leiden?" Leo says while trying to get somewhere.

"Who?" I question.

"The Legendary Battle Maiden, Violet" Leo says while nudging me in the side with his elbow "You 2 seemed to work pretty well on the battlefield when we fought together with Major Gilbert"

I roll my eyes at what he says "Why do you want me to get with her so badly?" I ask him.

"I can tell that you two are meant for each other"  Leo says.

"If you say so" I reply.

"I heard you sent her a letter yesterday"

"What!, How then hell do you know that?" I question.

"I watched you type it out" He says with a small grin.

"So you were awake yesterday morning" I grumble.

"Don't be mad just because I know that you sent her a little love letter" he teases me.

"It wasn't a love letter. It was just to tell her that we were coming home today" I tell him.

The train then comes to a stop. I look out the window to see a crowd of people old and young, some had signs with the names of their loved ones on it. I stood up out of my seat and faced my brothers.

"Were home guys. It was a honor fighting with you on the battlefield. I hope we can meet sometime after this day" I then salute "Good Luck"

Everyone then salutes back.

"I guess this will be the last time I will say this even with me not being your captain anymore. Let's head out" I say and everyone cheers.

I grab my duffle bag full of my military things and equipment. The handle of my hammer stuck out of my duffle bag do to its length. I step out of the train car to see the many families outside. I start walking through the crowd, trying to find my mom and sister. I exit the crowd of people and after stepping out I get speared to the ground and I drop my duffle. I feel a arms tightening their grip around me.

"Mom I found him!" The person on me shouts.

I look at the person who's hugging me and I see my little sister Liz. I think she's 17 now.

"I'm so happy to see you big brother!" Liz shouts as she hugs me.

A moment later my mom walks up behind Liz as she continued to hug me while on the ground.

"Easy Liz, He just got off the battlefield a few days ago" Mom says.

I pick myself up off the ground, bringing Liz up with me. Liz let's go and mom walks up to me and gently hugs me. She lets me go before slapping in the face as hard as she could.

"That was for going off to war" She tells me sternly.

"I deserved that" I say as I rubbed my cheek.

"Let's start heading home, I have to make dinner" Mom says.

We started walking home and Liz was looking ahead as the evening light flared onto her.

"You still look like a doll" I tell Liz as I mess with her hair.

"Stop that" she says with puffed cheeks and pushes my hand away. She then becomes excited "(Y/n) guess what I am?" Liz says excitedly.

"What are you?" I ask. Going along with her.

"I am an Auto Memory Doll" She tells me cheerfully

"Oh are you"

"Yeah, there's this girl that I work with that looks more like a doll than I do. Her skin is porcelain like and is elegant like a doll also"  we then continued walking.

"There is?" I question.

"Yeah, you need to meet her. I think you would love her" She says "She would be perfect for you"

"Liz, you don't need to find your brother a girlfriend" Mom tells Liz before looking at me "but you should really find a girlfriend, I need grand children and I don't need my little girl getting hitched right now"

"Mom!" Liz says in embarrassment.

"Sorry sweetie" Mom giggles.

"Ohh look, there's the girl I was telling you about (Y/n)" Liz tells me and points in front of us to a girl with blond hair which was tied in two braided buns.

The girl was looking around as if she was trying to find someone. She then turns our direction and Liz was waving to her. The girl came closer and I see who it is.

"Violet?" I say in disbelief.

"You know Violet?" Liz questions.

"Yeah..."

Violet reaches us and she sees me "Hi Captain (L/n)" she says and salutes.

"At ease. Hello Violet" I say with a small smile.

"I've been looking for you Captain" Violet says.

"You don't need to call me Captain any more, I was dismissed from the army yesterday" I say "so I assume that you got my letter"

"Mhmm" Violet says while nodding "I was happy when I heard from you after I got your letter"

"So you've come to understand emotions, makes me happy" I tell her.

"Yes, as a auto memory doll I have met many people, I have come to understand emotions through my job. Also I now know the meaning of the phrase 'I love you'"

"I see. Whoever you say that to one day will truly be happy" I say with a smile and and she smiles back with a light blush.

"Aww so cute!!!" Liz squeals like a fan girl "I said that you two would be perfect for each other"

Violet turns away while covering her face and I chuckle to myself. My mom then looks over at Violet after she turned her face back to us.

"Violet, would you like to have dinner with us tonight?" Mom asks.

"Of course Mrs. (L/n), it would be a pleasure" Violet says while bowing elegantly while lifting the sides of her dress.
