17-Hospital
I woke up to the soft glow of the morning sun filtering through my curtains. I got out of bed and groggily, I reached for a random shirt lying on the floor and threw it on. My room was a mess, but I didn't care. I was excited to wake up my little sorellina, Violet.
I stumbled to the bathroom, splashed some water on my face, and brushed my teeth. The cold water helped wake me up a bit more. I decided to take a quick shower, letting the warm water relax my muscles.
After drying off, I wrapped a towel around my waist and headed back to my room to get dressed. I picked out a pair of jeans and a black shirt feeling more awake and ready for the day.
Once I was dressed, I bounded downstairs, where I met Xavier and Dante. They all looked like they were also headed to Violet's room. As we entered, we found Luca, Xander, and Roman already there, waiting. Roman was lying on the floor, and violet was sitting on her bed, her hair was all over her face and she looked so innocent and cute.
She was smiling a bit, and her eyes twinkled a little in surprise as she saw Xavi, me and Dante enter.
"Good morning Bambina!"
We engulfed Violet in a group hug, but to our surprise, she flinched and pushed us away. Her eyes were teary, and an awkward silence filled the room.
Shit.
I felt guilty and violet looked like she could burst out any second. Just as I was about to apologize,
Dante broke the silence, his voice gentle but firm. "Everyone, get out of the room and let Violet get ready. Vaeh, I'll be waiting for you downstairs."
We left the room, heading to the dining room where breakfast awaited. We took our seats, chatting quietly as we waited for Violet.
"Luca," I stated as I looked at him.
"Bro, don't you notice her flinching!? It's definitely not something normal. Meeting today after breakfast with her." I said and took a seat next to Dante.
Luca adjusted his tie and spoke. "It's not that I don't notice Elijah. Also, we should keep that talk away for now, we'll talk to her when the time is right, or she will tell her herself. I don't want to pressure herself, now do we?"
"But it will be too late when she tells us herself!" I retorted. I was simply concerned and sick worried for my sister and here is my dead looking brother saying, 'she will tell herself'.
I don't want to pressure herself either, but it must be something serious.
"Elijah," He gives me a warning look in which i flip off. "Shut up, Get ready for breakfast."
Soon, our little Princessa came down, dressed and looking adorable. Everyone stared at her, admiring her cuteness. She took her seat next to her twin roman, and I slid a plate of waffles and juice towards her, and she smiled in appreciation- or a tight tipped smile.
Everyone was adoring her actions when she looked up at us and started to ramble.
"What? Is something wrong? My face? Oh, it's probably my hair since I didn't style it yet, or maybe just my outfit, it's so simple and pukey... but I was just trying to hurry up, you know..." Violet rambled, her cheeks flushing.
Everyone chuckled at her cuteness, but Dante's expression turned serious. "No, you look perfectly fine, bambina. Luca and I have something to discuss, though."
I gave her a little smile and Luca clears his throat before beginning to speak. I swear, it's like he's always Tryna get attention.
"Well bambina. You are going to be starting school in from tomorrow onwards and since you already had clothes, we will get you the items needed for school. Xander and Xavier as well as Roman go there so no need to be afraid," He finished.
Violet's eyes widened in shock as Luca mentioned her going to school tomorrow. She looked pale but managed to blurt out an okay. As she nervously tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear, everyone gasped
Scars covered her neck, and they looked infected and carved. My eyes widened and realizing this, Violet gasped and quickly covered them, her eyes blurring with tears. She looked at the floor and got up, a sob escaping her mouth.
Poor baby.
"Violet..." Luca began, but she didn't look up. Instead, she stumbled backward, knocking into a stack of plates that crashed to the floor. She slipped at the ceramic and fell down. hitting the floor as She passed out, and my heart raced with panic.
"VIOLET!" Roman screamed before running towards her. He took her fragile body in his arms and began rocking her as tears spilled continuously from his eyes.
"No. No. NO NO NO!" He screamed in frustration.
"Roman,"
"NO VIOLET PLEASE! YOU ARE NOT LEAVING ME AGAIN!"
"Roman, pass violet to me," I Said, trying to be calm as possible. He shook his head and squeezed her even tighter.
Xander and Dante pulled a screaming Roman away from Violet and i took her cold limp body into my arms. Luca and I rushed to the hospital wing and burst through the doors shouting for help.
"Help! help! Our sister passed out!" Xavier yelled in Panick mode.
Nurses came and placed her on a bed with an oxygen mask and checked her pulse rate.
"What's the patient's name, and when did she pass out?" Gianna-a family doctor asked us.
"Violet, Violet Nevaeh. Her head hit the plates, and she slipped and fell, just now." I said trying to explain as quickly as possible. Gianna Nodded and several doctors and nurses surrounded her and took her to the ER.
"Please wait outside here, we'll tell you when you can come in," Gianna said before the doors closed in a slam
-
"Roman, take deep breaths," Lorenzo comforted Rome, who was still having trouble breathing. Roman was also a very anxious kid, just like violet.
It had been a few hours since Violet had been taken into the Er, and still no news of her. Luca had tried asking what happened, but all the nurses had said was that to wait.
All of us, we were all piled in chairs and Xander had been quite all the time. For once, Luca's eyes held emotion, Lorenzo and Xavier were bawling their eyes out and Dante shut himself.
Just as the tension in the room became unbearable, the doors to the ER swung open, and Gianna stepped out. Her face was a mix of exhaustion and concern.
"We've run a full scan and checked her body," Gianna began, her voice steady but serious. "Violet has multiple bruises, scars, and several infected wounds. She's in a coma, but she's stable for now."
A collective gasp filled the room. Roman, who had been pacing back and forth, didn't wait for permission. He burst into Violet's room without saying a word, his heart pounding in his chest. The sight of his sister lying there, pale and hooked up to machines, made his knees weak.
He rushed to her side, gently taking her hand in his. Tears streamed down his face as he whispered, "Violet, I'm so sorry. I promise, we'll get through this together."
Violet remained unresponsive, her chest rising and falling steadily with the help of the machines. Roman squeezed her hand gently, hoping she could somehow feel his presence.
Meanwhile, I stood in the corner, my jaw clenched tightly. My mind raced with thoughts of anger and frustration. Who could have done this to my sister? The images of her bruised and scarred body haunted me, and I felt a burning rage building inside. I vowed to find out who was responsible and make them pay for what they had done to Violet.
My fists tightened at my sides, and I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself. I knew I needed to stay strong for Violet and the rest of the family. But the thought of someone hurting my sister filled me with a sense of helplessness and fury that I couldn't shake.
