14-Cars and panic attacks

"What car do you want, bambina?" Lorenzo asked, his voice gentle yet firm, as he looked at me with expectant eyes.

I froze, my mind spiraling back to dark memories of my mother and stepfather. They would ask me to choose my punishment, their voices dripping with a twisted sense of generosity. Knives, razors, planks of wood, needles, and chokeholds—those were my options. The thought made my skin crawl, and I began to sweat.

I shook my head, trying to dispel the memories, and pointed to a random car. It was a shiny metallic black with tinted windows,

(so, like, this picture is very random, but I already had this image in mind, so I think it's a tesla? I don't know much about cars so if I'm wrong, then please kindly correct me)

"Good choice, Angel. It's one of my favorite cars," Elijah said, smiling as he grabbed the keys. He got inside and pulled the car out of the garage, stopping at the entrance of the gate.

"Alright, Violet and Xavier and Roman in the middle, Lorenzo and I in the front," he instructed.

I groaned as Xavier opened the door for me. I hated sitting in the middle. Xavier chuckled and offered me the left window seat instead, which I gratefully accepted.

The car's interior was luxurious, with black leather seats and a soft, sweet apple scent that helped calm my nerves. Once everyone was buckled up, Lorenzo announced that we were heading out, and we set off. I stayed silent, staring out the window at the passing trees and birds.

"Angel, what do you think about school?" Xavier asked suddenly, breaking the silence.

I turned to him, fiddling with my fingers. "Well, it's nice. The classes are good, but some students are mean. I don't know... It's only been a few days, but it's good," I said softly.

"Oh," was all he said.

After a while, he spoke up again. "Do you want to switch schools? You know we can do that for you. You could go to a private school where Xander and I go. The people there are nice, and if they're not, I'll make sure they are," he said with a reassuring smile.

I thought about it. No more Mindy, no more rude teachers, no more smelly shower stalls. "I don't know," I replied.

Xavier nodded and took out his phone, scrolling through it. I did the same, taking a few pictures to distract myself. I wanted to make sure I looked nice enough to face the crowd.

The car pulled up in front of a huge building. There weren't many people around, which made me feel a bit more comfortable, but I was still shaking. I opened the door and stepped out, trying to steady my trembling hands. My breathing quickened, and I felt panic rising in my chest.

Warm hands embraced me, and I breathed in Lorenzo's comforting scent. "Shh, calm down, Sorella. Breathe in for me. It's going to be okay; I promise. Nothing will happen, and we are all by your side," he whispered sweetly in my ear.

I focused on his words, trying to match my breathing to his calm, steady rhythm. Inhale, exhale. Slowly, my panic began to subside. Lorenzo's presence was like a soothing balm, grounding me in the moment. I felt my heartbeat slow down, and my hands stopped shaking.

"That's it, just keep breathing," Lorenzo murmured, his voice a gentle anchor. "You're safe with us."

As we entered the building, Elijah suggested, "Let's check out the clothing section first,"

We walked to the aisle and there were a lot of long sleeved and cute tops and dresses, skirts and leggings.

I felt a pang of guilt at the thought of spending their money. "I don't know, I don't want to be a burden," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Lorenzo shook his head, his expression softening. "Violet, you're not a burden. We want to do this for you. Please, let us."

"But it's too much," I protested, feeling overwhelmed.

Lorenzo gently took my hand. "Listen, sorella. You deserve nice things. Let us take care of you. It's not about the money; it's about making you happy."

I looked into his eyes, seeing the sincerity there. "Okay," I finally agreed, my voice trembling.

"Good," Lorenzo said, squeezing my hand reassuringly. "Now, let's find you something beautiful."

I nodded and picked out a few clothes.

I picked out long sleeved outfits, tops and sweats, a few t-shirts for sleeping and a cute pajama set as well.

(The picture below is just some references of like the types of clothes she bought)

I still felt guilty, so I let the boys get what they want for me. They bought me a few pairs of cute shoes, some hoodies and jackets, jewelries, lights and decorations for my room and a laptop, iPad and a new iPhone.

They bought me even more clothes and then we went to the cashier. Lorenzo just swiped his black credit card like its nothing and we all exit the mall, the bodyguards holding at least 7 bags of clothes, shoes and all of the stuff.

After that we went to another store and bought some snacks and then we went to a cute diner for lunch.

"Okay, what do you want to eat, angel?" Elijah asks me once we were seated. I looked at the menu and I decided to go with a simple green salad with chicken.

"Is that all she is getting?" Xander asked the boys. Lorenzo looked at what I ordered, and he frowned.

"She'll have the salad, plus a medium burger with fries on the side and a water, please," He then said to the waitress. The boys had already ordered, and it was just me left so the waiter nodded and left.

"Violet, you need to eat a bit more." Xavier said, looking concerned. "If you don't you will get skinnier and fall sick,"

I just sighed and looked away, but I felt large cold hands grab mine. I froze and looked to see Xander. It was him who was doing that.

"Violet, tell us why you don't eat well," he said in a cold and deep voice that sent shivers down my spine.

I gulped.

"I-i, Mum a-and h-her h-husband d-don't really feed me w-well. I- t-they usually are j-just outside," I stutter spluttering out a half-truth sentence.

I look up to see all the boys with their jaws clenched.

"Your mother does not give you food? OUR Mother!?" Xander yells the word 'mother' with so much disgust and anger.

I flinched but awkwardly shuffled hoping no one would notice and squeezed my eyes.

TIME SKIP

Time skipped We all ate a very awkward lunch and then returned to the car. I managed to eat a quarter of the burgers and few fries and half of the salad.

I finished the entire glass of water because I was thirsty and Xander surprisingly got me another bottle of water which I gave him a soft thankyou and a small smile.

Xander was sitting next to Xavier and Xavier was next to me while I was sitting next to the left window seat again.

We arrived at the mansion, or should I say, home, and Enzo parked the car and we all got inside.
