review on title:
I think it’s a great title, honestly! It shows that there will be some playfulness within the book and I love how it relates to each chapter.
review on the cover:
I like it! It’s a little irritating for me that the text isn’t centered, but I love the design.
review on the grammar:
There were no noticeable issues as far as I was concerned. Anything that I noticed wasn’t huge. Run it through a grammar checker if you ever get the chance and I’m sure everything will be fixed!
review on the punctuation:
Punctuation was pretty good, too! Nothing huge, nothing I stumbled over whilst reading. Again, grammar checkers are immensely helpful!
review on the character development:
Character development? Hmm. Well, I think you did pretty well with this! You might want to show point of view switches a bit better than just bolding the names, however. When I began the first chapter with Jackson, I thought I was in Hyacinth’s point of view, and I was like, “Wow, she steals? This is interesting!” But nope, it was a new character when I went back and checked the top of the chapter (I was pretty sad about this). Good work!
review on the plot:
The plot is kind of slow-going. Every chapter seems like a filler chapter in my opinion. It’s good writing and all, but I think you need a bit more action to keep the readers from getting bored.
overall review:
I think it was good, if not cliche. I know from reading your profile descriptions that you like cliches, but I would be careful with them. A lot of people can’t stand cliches and this will chase them away from your book. You have to give us some original surprises in there, or everyone’s going to think they know how it ends (idea: make it cliche and then the ending be completely different from what everyone’s thinking! Thoughts?). Overall, I enjoyed reading it, but speed it along a little bit! Keep writing. -Alina <3
