8.Age gap
It was only six in the morning.
But you were way too excited to be sleepy because you'll be learning archery today. Or more like, you'll be learning archery from Jungkook today.
And then you both can climb trees, eat berries, chase bunnies. Wow. Bunny chasing bunnies. You could take pictures of that.
Landing your feet on the floor, you pushed your hair back and got ready for the day.
Changing into your black fitness pants and t-shirt after doing your morning routine and taking a shower, you tied your hair into a low ponytail.
"Kim Hyerin, you can do this. Fighting!" You said to yourself, mentally preparing yourself for the archery lessons.
Your intentions for learning archery were pure. You just loved how calm and cool people looked while shooting the arrows, and wanted to learn it too. So that you can get the concentration.
Jungkook teaching you would give you more concentration is what you thought.
You see, back then while dancing, before getting into the BB's dance classes, you used to look like a twig having a seizure.
(A/n: No offense. PS-That's how I look when I dance)
But as Jungkook started teaching you, he did not make a good dancer, you made yourself a better dancer because of him. There's a difference.
You thought that the same could happen in learning archery too.
Humming random songs, you walked downstairs to the kitchen where your grandmother was cooking breakfast.
"Good morning, nana," you greeted your grandmother who gave you a smile.
Jumping up and sitting on the kitchen counter, you got your cold chocolate milk from your grandmother and started drinking it.
"Is chubs awake?" You asked and your grandmother nodded her head as a yes.
"Jungkook is teaching him how to play a video game," she said and your mouth performed an 'o', mentally noting that Jungkook is awake too.
As you completed drinking half of the chocolate milk, you heard your grandmother speak.
"Does Jungkook know?" She asked and you blinked your eyes.
"Know what?" You asked and took a small sip from the glass of cold chocolate milk you were holding in your hand.
"That you love him?" Your grandmother asked nonchalantly and you choked on American Oxygen.
You coughed uncontrollably, placing aside the glass of chocolate milk as your grandmother handed you a glass of water.
Gulping down the liquid, you breathed heavily while your grandmother got back the glass from you.
"H-How do you know?" You asked and your grandmother chuckled lightly.
"Young lady, don't forget that even I was your age once. And you look at Jungkook, just like how I used to look at your chubs back during our college days," she said and you looked at her in awe.
"So tell me. Does Jungkook know?" Your grandmother asked again and you shook your head as a no.
"Sooner the better," your grandmother said before placing aside the washed vegetables as she started to chop them.
Grabbing your chocolate milk again, you started drinking it.
"You don't think that the age gap is a problem, do you?" You asked and your grandmother looked at you.
"I mean, yeah, I'm twenty years old and oppa is thirty five years old. We have an age gap of fifteen years between us. But we say that age is just a number and, aye," you mumbled in a low voice and looked at your lap.
Finishing your chocolate milk, you placed aside the glass on the counter, still looking down at your lap.
"You know, your grandfather and I," your grandmother started. "We don't feel our age, and we don't act our age. For us, age is just a number," she said and held your chin, raising your head up so that you'll look into her eyes.
"You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt, as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear, as old as your despair. We think age is just a number, and we become someone with the responsibilities we take on and the decisions we make. And then we start to realize that every day is a gift. And we have every day too. We say, 'Age is just a number'. But a lot of times, it's not just a number. It's actually a real and true sign of someone's maturity." Your grandmother paused, looking deeply into your eyes, a small smile on her face. "And in that case, you're fantastic."
