Jungkook's pov

I stood outside the airport, near the car that I recently bought.

Jisoo noona and Jin hyung were coming to LA. Micha, their eleven year old daughter and my niece, was not coming.

Looking at the familiar faces walking towards me, I sighed and straightened my posture as I was leaning my back against the car earlier.

"Hi, noona," I said while grabbing the suitcase from Jin hyung.

"How is she doing?" Jisoo noona asked me while I just closed the car's trunk after placing the suitcase in it.

"Not good at all," I said as we all got in the car. "She refuses to go anywhere else out of the house. Just locking herself in the room all day. She barely even drinks water."

Losing her parents before just a few months. Then she came to her grandparents. And within a month of living with them, them too. No one can stand all these.

But I don't pity her.

Pity is an emotion that can get you killed. The only thing more dangerous is blind hate, and maybe love.

Author's pov

On reaching your home, they all got out of the car while Jungkook took the bags inside his house.

Jin and Jisoo slowly entered the house, greeted by silence while Jisoo walked upstairs, knowing where your room is.

Opening the door to your bedroom, she slowly entered and found you sitting on the floor, hugging your knees, your eyes still red and puffy.

"Don't pity me," you said in a low voice while looking away through the window, still hugging your knees. "I hate being weak," you mumbled, trying hard to control your tears.

Walking forward, Jisoo sat beside you on the floor and wrapped an arm around you.

You laid your head on her lap as she caressed your head.

"Jiji," you called softly and Jisoo hummed in response.

"I want to visit that orphanage," you said and Jisoo halted on her actions.

"Why?" she asked, a bit perplexed.

"Please," you just mumbled, trying to explain to her.

But those with shattered souls find it very difficult to speak.

Your heart is shattered and the tears keep flowing. You have regrets, you have pain. It won't go away. Trust is gone, and those promises mean nothing. For you are broken.

Time skip to evening~

As you talked with the kids in the orphanage, a small smile on your face, the three others looked at you from afar.

"Why did she want to come here?" Jin asked as he looked at you.

"She used to live in this orphanage," Jisoo said, making the men to look at her.

"My sister was not able to give birth," she started. "When Hyerin was five years old, my sister and brother-in-law adopted her from this orphanage. And then they moved to Seoul," she said.

"You never told me," Jin said and Jisoo looked at him.

"You never asked me," she said and turned her head to the side.

"Noona," Jungkook called, thinking that she could perhaps help him in this matter. "Hyerin-" jis words were cut off by Jisoo.

"She loves you," she said nonchalantly and Jungkook looked at her with slightly widened eyes.

"Everyone except you knew it. You were just too much of a dumb bunny to realize," she said and Jungkook's mouth parted.

"I'm not a dumb bunny," he said with a small pout.

"Whatever you say, honey," Jisoo mumbled, rolling her eyes a little.

"After finding out that Hyerin loves you, is this what you care about?" Jin asked as he wrapped an arm around Jungkook's shoulder.

"Just accept that your coconut head is oblivious," he added while walking away with Jungkook, leaving Jisoo as she still kept an eye on you.

The duo walked to a bench in the garden and sat there.

"But it isn't right, hyung," Jungkook started. "She's fifteen years younger than me, and what will the world say about that. It's just that- We can't just be together!" He said.

Looking at him for a few seconds, with a small smile, Jin looked away, facing straight again.

"The time I met Jisoo, it wasn't a love at first sight. My love for her formed gradually," Jin said. "Her personality, her voice, her eyes, the way she looked away and smiled, it all came clear to me that she's the one I was looking for," he stated.

"Do you know Jungkook? Three years ago when Hyerin came to our house for Micha's birthday party, she looked so gloomy that I decided to talk to her," Jin started speaking again.

"She said that she was sorry and she gets a little jealous sometimes, thinking that someone else could make you happier than she could. Maybe it was her insecurities acting up. She told me she knew that she was not the prettiest, smartest, or the most fun and exciting person, and that she was fifteen years younger than you in age. But she also knew that no matter how you treat her, you'll never find somebody that loves you like she does," he completed while looking at Jungkook.

"Have you ever just looked at someone and thought, 'I really love you,'" Jin asked. "They're just talking, or humming, watching a movie, reading a book, laughing or something. And there's something about them in that moment which makes you look at them and think, 'I really just love you,'" he said.

"But I've seen you looking at Hyerin with those eyes," Jin added. "You're just building up a wall around yourself with your doubts, not wanting to go beyond what is just upright and fake," he said.

"I know that it hurts to love someone, and not be loved in return. But the most painful thing is to love someone, and never have the courage to tell them," Jin stated before getting up and walking away, leaving Jungkook there as he kept thinking.

Time skip to an hour later~

It was time to go home and you kept waiting alone near the gate for Jin to go get the car as Jisoo and Jungkook were talking with a staff member in the orphanage.

Still with an emotionless face, you decided to just walk to the next street where the car was parked since there weren't any other parking facilities nearby.

From the corner of his eyes, Jungkook stared at you, making sure that you were not going anywhere else or doing something stupid, though he knew that you won't be doing something like that.

But the next second when you took a few steps forward, Jungkook's eyes widened and he felt his heart freeze while he yelled your name as the truck hit you.

A broken heart, a shattered dream,
A hopeless soul, a silent scream,
An extinguished sun, a sad sky,
A missing moon, a burning sigh,
An endless path, a lonely you,
And a journey alone to eternity.

A/n

Painful and secretive, and so many bear the pain without saying a word. It is not a curse. Infertility is not a punishment for something you did or proof that you shouldn't have children. People are never at fault for their infertility. They are loved by their partners and are the most loving and caring. So many who want to be parents. There are also so many children out there, just wanting to be cared for, waiting for a loving home.
