12.Cold
Your eyes fluttered open slowly as the sunlight kept hitting your face.
Letting out a yawn, you sat up on the bed and looked towards Jungkook's window first, like everyday, waiting for him to say you a 'good morning' with the cup of coffee in his hand like always.
You waited, and waited, until after ten minutes, you sighed and got down the bed, your head throbbing.
"Maybe he's till sleeping," you said to yourself and walked forward. "Wait a minute," you said to yourself and halted on your steps.
'Did I do something embarrassing last night?'
You thought to yourself while blinking your eyes.
All that you remember from yesterday was getting drunk by a whiskey, thinking that it was sparkling apple juice, and then you calling Jungkook as Kookie bunny.
"Did I do something else?" You asked yourself, biting on your lower lip nervously.
Letting out a deep breath, you tried to calm yourself down.
"Don't start panicking, Hyerin. Just go and talk to him, and you'll know if something's wrong," you spoke to yourself once again before walking away to do your morning routine.
An hour later, you were finished with your shower and walked downstairs.
Grabbing the phone, you ordered a large cheese margherita pizza.
You love eating what you love, so you love ordering more of what you love.
And for the next five minutes, you sat upside down on the couch, rethinking your life's decision because of your hunger.
Well, you're getting a large pizza so-
"I can call oppa," you blurted out suddenly. "Yes. We can share the pizza and I can spend some time talking with him," you said before rolling off the couch to the floor.
Picking up your phone from the coffee table, you stood up after dialing Jungkook's number.
A wide grin got plastered on your face as he picked up the call.
"Ah, oppa, I'm buying some pizza. Would you like to come over? You can-" your words were cut off by Jungkook.
"No, Hyerin. I'm not home. I'm out for work," he said, his voice void of any emotions.
"Oh," you said with slight disappointment that you wouldn't be able to have breakfast with him, happy that he was getting to do what he wanted. "But will you-" your words were cut off by Jungkook once again.
"I have some work. I should be going right now," he said coldly and hung up, not bothering to wait for your reply.
"Bye," you mumbled, though there was no way that he could hear it through the disconnected call.
Placing the phone back on the coffee table, you laid yourself on the couch and sighed while staring at the ceiling.
"Was he trying to avoid me?" You asked yourself. "He was also being a bit cold," you mumbled under your breath.
Deciding not to overthink the whole situation, you shook the thoughts off your head as the doorbell rung.
"Pizza," you said to yourself while getting up and walking to the door.
Opening the front door, you found the pizza guy standing there with a professional smile on his face as he held the box of pizza in his hand.
Paying for the pizza, you closed the door and locked it before walking away to the living room.
Square box, round pizza, triangular slices. People in your life are the same as pizza. The come to you in a different way, appear different, and of course, behave absolutely different.
Placing the pizza box on the coffee table, you sighed blankly once again.
Deciding on listening to some music while eating, you slowly walked upstairs to your room.
On reaching the bedroom, you got your AirPods from the study table.
And then you noticed something missing from the set-up of your study table.
Tilting your head to the side, you took another careful glance at the table.
And then your eyes widened as you figured out what was missing.
Keeping aside your AirPods, you moved the things off the table, checking the place more carefully once again.
"My diary," you said frantically while looking around the room.
Not finding it, you searched the whole room, and then the house in hopes of finding it somewhere, lying underneath the couch, the bed, or the dining table.
But you do remember leaving it on your study table last evening before you left to the bar with Jungkook.
And after a series of thoughts, you concluded something which was the only possibility.
"He must've seen it," you said to yourself with anxiety.
True love is many things, and can survive the strongest and most painful of times. When love comes out from the other side of a fire, it may be scarred forever. But this bruised love is somehow only greater for having survived the pain. Maybe, the truth is that the scar doesn't hurt your love. Because love is what hurts you.
