Back inside the castle things were quiet. Not that it used to be loud and noisy but everything felt sinister.

The twins weren't speaking, Payne hasn't spoken to me In two days and we were supposed to be leaving tomorrow. Well, at least I think its tomorrow.

The servants and maids were busy preparing for our departure and as they passed their quick footsteps could be heard from inside my room.

I didn't want to explore the castle. I didn't want to go outside. I didn't want to be anywhere else but inside this room where Payne could have easily found me whenever he was ready to speak.

I wanted him to come to me and once again I was placed in the situation where I would look at the bedroom door sadly expecting it to be thrown open by Payne. It hadn't happen yet but I was still waiting.

Lying across the bed, already showered and eaten from the kitchen where I had to go and eat by myself. I was bored, Exhausted and tired of Payne getting upset for simple words.

Groaning and stretching out like a starfish on the big soft bed I cleared my mind and tuned in on my wolf side.

She too was upset but despite our problems she wanted to get out. Maybe that was a good idea, I hadn't let her out since the day I ran away.

That was about a month or more ago.

"Fine." I groaned out and rolled off the bed and onto my feet.

Checking my appearance in a mirror on my way out incase I saw Payne my jeans and loose white t-shirt and converse was as ever boring. My dirty blonde hair in a messy bun at the top of my hair and my blue eyes glowed with the one thing my body was lacking right now. Energy.

Leaving the room and making my way down the hallway I stopped in my steps.

The lonely narrow halls had footsteps going toward the front door. Heavy footsteps too might I add.

Payne.

Quickening my steps toward the door in hopes to meet up with him, I bent the corner to the main hall.

A large body bumped into mine as I made the turn and with a lack of balance from the throw I went tumbling onto the ground. A deep voice then spoke.

It wasn't Payne's.

"Shit! I'm so sorry." A tall figure then stooped to my form on the ground. "Here let me help you up."

Heart pounding in chest and my body groaning from the impact of the fall I looked up and met the stranger's eyes.

They were green.

Latching onto the large helping hand I got to my feet. They didn't help me in getting anywhere near the stranger's height however. He was almost as tall as Payne.

With shoulder lenght blonde hair and the darkest set of green eyes I'd ever met the stranger was very handsome. Broad shoulders and a built figure he was screaming sexuality. Thats all there was to it though.

But even with his good looks and muscular figure he easily had nothing on Payne.

Never in a million years.

"Thanks." I murmured while dusting off myself.

"Are you a servant here or something?" The man asked and I mentally rolled my eyes. Of course. Nobody other than servants or members of their pack is allowed on Vincent Territory. Bla bla bla.

"No." Was my rough answer as I began to turn on my feet but stopped In the process turning back to the blonde male. "What are you doing in here?"

"I don't think its any of your business. "A smug smirk crossed his face.

None of my business?Oh really?

"Okay. Fine. I'll just ask Payne if he knows about some blonde guy walking from the direction of his room. He'll just love to hear about that. Not to mention the fact that you just tumbled into me, a special guest. " okay. So maybe I was pushing this a little but this guy was reeking of arrogance and a confidence that he belonged here more than me. He had a purpose here before he had to leave. Now that the purpose is over he's leaving. No one does that in here. No one's really allowed in here. Not from what I've seen for the past few weeks. The Vincent pack is no where near this land either. So strangers are to be aware of.

Folding my hands across my chest I grinned as the smug smirk on the man's face fell and in its place a look of horror that was quickly hid by a tight smile.

"Payge gave me permission to be here. If its any trouble let her and her brother deal with this. If you'll excuse me..." the man quickly strode ahead of me and before I could blink he was out.

I shook my head and followed behind the guy knowing he was probably off the property by now. Its not like I could go to Payne and inform him about the guy. If he came from the twin's room location he probably really had permission and it was obvious that Payne wasn't there or he'll be escorting the bastard to hell himself.

Why would Payge give him permission to be by their rooms? He has to be of some importance after all. A pit formed in my chest.

He couldn't be her mate right?

Shrugging off those thoughts I begin following through on what my aim was for when I got out here.

Quickening my steps as I began on the trimmed grassy path I made my way behind a tree where I scanned the area for anyone before stripping out of my clothes and changing into my brown wolf.

The sounds of my bones cracking was a great relief as it was pressure.

Giving her control I let her run into the woods before us. The air was cool as the mid day sky took over. The green foresty before me a feast to my wolf as she kept up her pace. I felt different. Stronger. More energetic.

Even a little taller.

If I were in my human form I'd be smiling widly but instead to show my gratitude and happiness for this moment I howled loudly. This was it.

My paws began pummeling on the ground as I kept on going. Faster and faster deeper into the woods.

Letting my mind go free and taking a deep breath of the fresh air, I realized something.

This was freedom.

I ran for what felt like hours and probably it was because the sun was finally setting, then began on my way to the caslte.

The grass under foot crunched with each step I took still in my wolf form and not long after I found myself on the track toward the lake.

With a blank mind and a buzz to take my anywhere, I steered myseld toward the lake instead of the castle.

The lake was beautiful. The wide open space of water all framed beautifully by the trees of the woods. Their branches hanging forming a green aura in its midst.

I had only been here once before. It had been when I had been caught by Payne. I remember that day vividly and at the thought my heart slumped a bit. He was angry at me for reasons I didn't even understand. To me everything seemed as a joke. We were having fun but it seems as though I was wrong.

As I approached the lake my eyes were stuck mainly to the crystal clear water before me.

It was beautiful beyond compare and I had never seen or been in a lake before. Never swam. Didn't know how to swim either.
My whole life was spent with me being jailed in that pack. The expanse of land around it was as much as I could have seen. I had only heard the directions to get to the human village and thats why I had ventured off. I honestly had no clue where I was going however.

Mindlessly walking toward the lake that was now inches away from me I put a paw out and tested the water. I felt like a baby seeing their reflection for the first time. Not knowing what to expect. I did see my reflection in the clear water though. My wolf was a beautiful chocolate brown colour and I guess other than a shorter frame I looked about as normal as any other wolf.

The water was cool against my warm fur and I huffed out a breath.

I wanted to go in.

I was about to sink another paw into the lake but stopped In the process. With my senses more accurate, I noted that someone was here.

They were watching me. Since I got here actually. I just hadn't realized from the state of awe that had took over me.

Turning around with my claws ready to attack to protect myself I stood defensively. Turning and listening to find the person.

That didn't last long however because once I turned to my right I found exactly what I was looking for. Who I was looking for.

My breath got caught in my throat the moment our eyes locked. My heart hammering so hard in my chest I'm sure he could have heard it.

Once again. I was caught by Payne.

But this time. I wasn't afraid. Fear wasn't the emotion that was running through me as I acknowledged the man that was a mere distance away from me to my right.

Fear definitely wasn't the emotion I was feeling as I took in his appearance.

He was dripping wet from what I'm positive is lake water. Dark hair wet and some strands falling into his face. Silver/grey eyes held me in a heated stare that had my stomach doing cart wheels. He was wet. Skin glistening as the sun seemed to have shone directly on his body. His dark tattoos of multiple signs and designs crossing all over his neck, chest and torso. They stopped at his waist however by that deep defined V-line under his six pack. The same V-line that ran beautiful and led into a hair less zone then to the part of Payne that I never thought I would have ever seen. Never thought about seeing actually.

Mind blurring and eyes stuck to the man before me no words could be formed. Maybe it was because of the intense attraction I had toward him, after all he was my mate and the connection wasn't non-existent but now, with a small sence of dread I knew that the reason I couldn't concentrate or make my brain work enough for me to process a sentence wasn't because of our bond or whatever.

Payne was naked.
