Where's my Payne?

"The cravings are gone but honestly, I'm feeling bloated and nauseous, I'll be puking in a bit so brace yourself," lying across from Payge as she went on and on about how she felt about her pregnancy I felt myself growing excited for her. Payge would be a badass mother and I know her daughter or son would be the same.

Growing up in this family? The fierceness probably flowed in their veins.

Listening to Payge I couldn't help myself from wondering if one day I would be in this position and having Payne's kids.

A bright blush took over my face.

It was the first time I'd thought about that. We'd be mated and a happy family, our kids and Payge's would all play together. Payne would be nothing like his father. I could tell, maybe that's what he needs for his complete transformation? But even if that was what he needed I wasn't ready for that type of responsibility.

"What are you blushing about? It can't be about me not being able to shave my legs properly with a big belly right?" Payge asked genuinely curious and I shook my head.

"Nothing, its just so cool."

"You're thinking about having your own kids with Payne?" She grinned widely and giggled a bit. "I brought it up earlier when we were talking because I thought you two did the nasty last night but he totally freaked but for your sake, I hope he isn't against kids."

Sighing I totally agreed.

"What are we supposed to do now?" I groaned out and rolled over. Payge's room was pretty, nice shade of purple too.

"I don't know, you want to go by the pack house?"

"Finally something to do!" Getting to my feet I put my slippers back on and Payge got up and went to shower and change.

Fifteen minutes later Payge was in blue jeans and a black turtle neck and her hair was in a pony tail. Her face, when rejuvenated looked brand new and in no time the both of us made our way out the house and was walking toward the grand mansion.

"I'm starting to feel hungry again." Payge drawled and tilted her head to the side as if studying the air for an answer.

"Are you serious?" I laughed out and she eagerly nodded her head.

Approaching the beautiful mansion there were people of all ages running around, taking a casual stroll or even bunched up in small groups conversing.

Despite how much I wanted to avoid my parents in here, getting out and meeting new people was worth the risk. I'd just casually stroll past them as if I didn't know they exist. They knew I existed now though and I'm pretty sure they saw the close relation between me and their alpha. Looks could be deceiving but even though Payne and I were still sorting things out, I was happy to say that we're making good progress and we're almost there.

Payge and I were clearly in view of all the people and although I knew they would stare at the new person and their Alpha's sister the looks they gave me as I passed wasn't of threat or welcome, they were surprised.

"Why's everyone watching me like that?" I whispered to Payge and she tried to hide her smile as we passed a few more groups of people then began climbing up the short porch steps of the mansion.

"They're in awe of the girl who actually got Payne to feel something. "

Well, that was good right?

"Oh." Was all I could manage.

We both walked through the grand entrance and there was chaos all over clustered in one corner of the room. At first it got me anxious because the last time I'd been in here and these people were in a bunch like that a man died.

"What's going on?" Payge shrugged and then made her way toward the crowd while I stayed put near the door where I could escape if need be.

Payge's dark hair got lost in the mix and the crowd began to part slowly then, "Luchas!" Payne squealed and with the crowd clearing up I had a clear view of Payge hugging someone. The person wasn't much taller than her but from what I could see the man had light brown curly hair.

"Someone's missed me," a deep husky voice chuckled and I quickly tried to see past their hugging bodies. Finally Payge released the guy and then they both turned to me.

"Come meet Alex," Payge insisted and the man's eyes flickered to mine.

Wow.

He had a deep set of green eyes, light brown hair and a built, golden tan body. His green eyes trailed my entire body and a charming smile pulled at his lips.

They both made their way over and I felt the urge to hide or something. His intense green stare on my face was making me feel self conscious and as far as his good looks went he had nothing on Payne. Not the first time I said that but no one can come close to Payne in my eyes, he will always bet the top in the hottest guys I've ever seen.

"Hey," he said as he came up and I looked to Payge for help, she just smiled oblivious to the heated stare he had on me, or maybe I was just over thinking this.

"Hi," I replied politely and his smile grew even deeper revealing deep dimples. So maybe that added an extra ten points to his good looks?

Dimples were adorable.

"Luchas this is Alex, Alex meet Luchas, my best friend." I tried not to eye her skeptically, when she said friend did she mean one of the guys she slept with or ......

"So how was the trip? Did you tell Maria I said hi? That poor woman, I hope you didn't give her any extra Grey hairs?" At first I'd thought she was talking about his mate but then I realized it must his mother. Their conversation went on and we moved into a a sitting room where a maid served us drinks and Payge and her friend catched up.

Apparently Luchas was a good friend of Payge and he'd spent the past few months with his sickly mother up in the mountains, He's returned now for a few weeks but intends to return in a few days to stay with his mother. That was really nice and from what I could see he was quite a polite guy.

"You're fucking me right? You? Pregnant? Didn't I teach you to always let 'em wrap up?" His deep laughter mixed with Payge's and she slapped him on his chest. "Okay okay, congrats," he said through laughter and Payge shook her head and finished her lemonade.

"So who are you? I've never seen you around here before." I didn't notice Luchas was speaking to me until Payge poked me in my arm.

"Uh? Oh.. Right. I came here with them." I said distracted with my drink and Payge finished for me.

"She's Payne's mate."

Luchas' eyes grew wide in his head and he shook his head. "You're kidding me right? He's a total loner, how's the love life working out for you?" I'd expect when Luchas found out I was mates to Payne he'd stop checking me out but he seemed newly fascinated with me.

This attention was really creepy.

Then his words repeated in my brain and I rose a brow at him.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I ground out trying not to get upset and in a durr like tone he said, "he's a loner, weird and dangerously aggressive, I'm surprised he hasn't rejected you and continued his lonely life."
The rage grew so hard in me I almost reached across my chair and slapped the dimples out of this guy.

"I don't believe in being rejected, its a myth, you can't decide whether or not you want what fate has already picked out for you and as for his personality and all that shit you just said about him, take your fucking opinion and shove it up your ass" Okay, so maybe I went over board, maybe my anger was getting the best of me ... And maybe I didn't want to stop, " Payne, however messed up he is is mine and I'm perfectly happy with that and just a little tip, stop checking me out, my mate doesnt do jealousy, I think he'd take the term 'jealousy kills' literally."

Luchas burst out in laughter and shook his head. His green eyes sparkling in delight from my reaction. Turning to Payge he said, "I think I like this girl." Payge just shrugged and grinned at me with a glimmer of pride in her eyes.

Turning back to me Luchas' smile didn't falter, "I get it, you and your mate are the perfect two but answer me this... Where is your mark? I could bet my life he doesn't have yours on him either." His grin widened at my lack of a response because his come back hit me seriously hard, "That's what I thought sweet heart." He finished and crossed his legs and sat back.

Groaning, Payge slapped Luchas hard on his thigh and he yelped then she shook her head and said, "don't mind him, he's gay, his mate is a guy and the reason he doesn't have a mark is because he's afraid of what people would think if he had a man's mark on him."

My mouth fell open.

Taking a closer look at his appearance it all fell into place.

He did look rather feminine and was that lip gloss making his lips shine?

Cool.

Then why was he checking me out?

"Well this is awkward," he laughed out and I shook my head. "Let's start over?"

I nodded and smiled at him.

The rest of the day was spent listening to Payge and Luchas gossiping and laughing at ridiculous things and even though I laughed along and joined in the conversation at times I couldn't help my mind from repeating what Luchas had said.

Payne hadn't marked me.

Was he ever going to?

But if he did I'd immediately go into heat until he finished the mating process, which consisted of us having sex.

Were we even ready for that?

No, we weren't.

So I definitely wasn't going to get marked anytime soon.

It put a damper on things but recently I've learned to accept my reality and be thankful for what I've finally got.

I got Payne, we'll slowly make it together.

School's back, today was my first day back out and work has started, I won't be able to update again till this weekend, I sneaked this in but I won't be able to add in another till this weekend.
