*Scarlett's POV *

I stared out into the ocean, frowning. "Ninjago is already in trouble... I can feel it."

"Ahah, maybe they didn't get there?" Jay looked to me. I turned around and only gave him a confused stare. "Oh, who are we kidding? You're totally right!"

I then looked at Lloyd, who was getting his leg wrapped by Zane's dad. "How is it, Doc?"

"Not good. I'm sorry, but this will take weeks to heal..." Zane's father answered.

"We don't have weeks!" Lloyd said, groaning as he felt more pain.

"The battle between good and evil will be decided today," Wu said.

"And we can't even get to the fight, much less get off this island!" Kai threw a rock, watching it skip across the water.

Jay sighed. "I wonder if I'll ever see Nya again."

"I wish I could've helped her..." I looked down. "Maybe she'd still be here if I had done something."

"Perhaps it's best to think of our friends as we remember them in our hearts." Zane put a hand on Jay's shoulder and the other on mine. "Not as they are now."

With the help of Zane's dad, Lloyd limped over to us. "But I don't remember my father any other way."

"Your father loved you." Misako frowned. "It was the evil of the Great Devourer that corrupted him."

"Sensei, I don't understand. The prophecy said that the Green Ninja would defeat the Dark Lord." Kai threw another rock. "Why didn't we win?"

Sensei lowered his head, ashamed. "I... don't know."

"Don't know? You're Sensei, you always know. You have a long white beard!" Jay received an elbow from Red for his words.

"There must be some message to learn, a lesson, a word of wisdom... just the word?" Kai did his best to get anything out of Wu. "Something?"

"For once, I'm afraid there is nothing to learn. Only that... evil has won." Wu looked out into the sky, seeing that it turned dark.

"Sensei..." I looked at him. "This is unlike you... we can't do this, there has to be something!"

"Yeah, well what if there isn't?" Cole crossed his arms. "Maybe Sensei's right, like he usually is. This battle, we've lost."

"We've won our other battles! Come on, guys..." I looked down, seeing Cole shaking his head, the others saying nothing.

"If Sensei doesn't have a lesson, I do." Lloyd stepped up. "And if nobody believes Scarlett, I do. She's right." He turned around, limping toward the forest slowly. "I used to be nothing but trouble, but then I met you guys. You took me in, showed me the importance of being brave, the importance of being strong. And most importantly, being good.

"When this battle first began, when the First Spinjitzu Master fought the Overlord, and his back was up against the wall and he knew it was all over, did he quit? No... he found a way to keep the fight going. He passed his elemental powers to us, of all people a bunch of kids! There must have been a reason he chose us...

"I'd like to think it's because he knew we'd never back down, we'd never give up! We'd learn the ancient ways of the ninja, and ninja never quit."

"He's right. If that means we have to swim the sea to get off this island, so be it." Kai nodded and walked into the water.

"Swim? No, no. There has to be another way." I shook my head.

"The entire ocean? But I didn't bring my floaties..." Jay mumbled.

Kai stuck out his tongue in disgust as he realized the ocean was sticky.

"Well, if you have a better plan." Cole shrugged.

"I don't. But he may." Zane smiled, pointing up to his falcon.

"Oh, the falcon! He must have found something."

The falcon then led us to the Temple of Light, where we all followed on Nya's mech.

"He brought us back to the Temple of Light. I do not understand, we've already been here," Zane said.

"Maybe there's something we missed?" I suggested, jumping off the mech and standing behind Misako.

"Maybe you're right." She looked at the scroll she held. "This location... I've seen this before, just never understood it."

We all walked in, Lloyd and I standing in the middle. Kai walked to the pole he was next to at the time.

"I- I think I found something! It's just like the map." He inserted his sword inside.

"There's one more, over there." Wu pointed.

"And here." Zane's father did the same.

"And over here." Misako pointed to the last one.

The other three ninja went to their respectful places, doing the same thing Kai did.

The temple then began to shake.

"What is it?" Kai asked, looking at the others.

Lloyd and I moved away from the center, letting it open up. A golden mech rose, looking a little like the one Nya gave us.

"It is the fighting suit the First Spinjitzu Master used when he battled the Overlord." Misako circled the suit.

"You mean the First Spinjitzu Master once sat here? Ha, get out of here!" Cole jumped in the seat. "How do you make this thing work?"

"Sadly, I think time has done her in. She's only a relic, now," Zane's father told him.

"If it worked for the First Spinjitzu Master, perhaps it will work for the next Spinjitzu Master." Wu nodded.

Lloyd shrugged. "Worth a shot." He replaced Cole in the seat, moving a lever. "Huh, nothing." However, the mech then began to turn gold, as if running for the first time. "Whoa!"

"Wow!" Cole shouted.

"Lookin' good!" Kai grinned.

"Killer!" Jay added.

"Amazing," Zane agreed.

"That's so cool!" I stared up in awe.

"Incredible!" Red even stepped back in surprise.

"How does the leg feel now?" Wu asked.

Lloyd moved it with the lever. "Stronger!"

"Well, I know how he is getting to Ninjago. But what about us?" Misako asked.

A loud sound then roared. Jay turned around, grinning. "I know that sound... it's our dragon!"

"I believe we just found our way off this rock." Sensei smiled, stroking his beard.

When the dragon arrived, we all got on. We flew to Ninjago, Lloyd following on his golden mech.

"This feels amazing!" I smiled, rubbing the scales on the dragon. "I was always fond of your dragon."

"You seem to be fond of dragons, period." Kai chuckled, looking forward. "I see Ninjago! It's not far away!"

Cole squinted. "You sure that's Ninjago?"

"Wow..." Jay mumbled.

"It seems that the Overlord has corrupted the entire city..." Red frowned, staring at the sight of the dark city in front of them.

"Oh no..." I put a hand on my chest.

We stayed in the air in front of a giant fortress. The Stone Army was right below it.

"What is that thing?" Kai asked.

"Garmatron," Wu answered, speaking of the Ultimate Weapon.

"It's... turned into a fortress?" Misako questioned.

"But where's the Overlord?" Zane's father pondered.

Lloyd dove down, us following. We landed far away, where no one could see us. Kai, Jay, and Cole went to a corner to look for the people, but came back to tell us they were all in the same condition as Nya.

A loud horn blared. Jay looked up, fearfully. "Oh... my..." A dark mist flew down toward our group. "Sweet Mother of...!"

"Look out Jay!" Kai yelled, pulling his friend out of the way.

Everyone braced themselves, and fortunately, no one was hit.

"Is that the look you were hoping for?" Zane joked.

Jay did not take it. "Zane? No."

"The metamorphosis is complete," Misako stated. "The Overlord's changed to his original form."

"I won't call that dragon cool, I won't, I won't..." I mumbled.

"But we can't fly up there." Cole stepped up, staring at the new form of the enemy.

"We have my father's golden mech." Wu pointed at Lloyd's weapon. "We have to draw their fire to help Lloyd use the mech against the Overlord."

"Scarlett, join my son." Misako looked to me. "He needs all the support he can get."

"You got it!" I jumped onto the shoulder of the mech, looking down at Lloyd. "Got room for two?"

"You can't sit on my lap, but I'm sure you can hang right where you are." He grinned.

I smiled.

*No POV*

The ninja and Red, Wu, Misako, and Zane's father all rode the dragon.

"Everyone, hang on tight!" Cole shouted.

They rode closer and closer to the army, and once they were in range, the army threw fireballs at them.

Everyone screamed, Wu being able to dodge in time. Another round of fire arrows came, but the Sensei pulled the reins before they were hit.

"The Stone Army is protecting their master. They will never let them get close," Misako said.

"Then we have to get close," Wu countered.

And on the ground, Lloyd walked the mech. Scarlett sat on the shoulder, preparing for when they were at the army.

Dareth saw them walking. "Yeah! I knew they'd be back!"

"You ready, Scarlett?" Lloyd asked.

"Bring it!" She grinned.

Lloyd then ran toward the army, unleashing his sword. "Time to bring out the big buttons!" He ran and lowered his sword into the fortress, a whole chunk of it breaking open.

Stone Warriors were inside, and when they found the two ninjas, went to attack. Scarlett rose to her feet, feeling happy that for once her balance was good.

"My turn." She made giant flames in her hands, throwing them at the army. The group in front of the ninjas fell back.

"Ninja—!" Lloyd began, but was hit by a beam and shrieked. The arm of the mech came off, and they looked up to see Nya cackling from a small air vehicle.

"Nya, no!" Scarlett jumped onto the hat of the mech and made a beam of her dark fire, aiming at the vehicle. Nya moved out of the way in time and continued shooting at the mech.

The mech collapsed, Lloyd crawling out of it. Scarlett fell with the mech, shrieking as she fell into Lloyd's arms.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm okay... are you?" Scarlett pointed to the mech that now didn't function. "How are we supposed to fight now?"

From the air, the group noticed them. "They've been hit!" Wu shouted.

"We need to protect them!" Misako ordered.

Lloyd couldn't move around much because of his leg, meaning Scarlett had to fend for them both.

Fortunately, the ninja and Red jumped down from the dragon, standing in front of Lloyd and Scarlett. "Ninja-Go!"

"We're okay!" Lloyd said to them.

"Yeah... but are we?" Jay looked behind him, and then at the swarm of Stone Warriors cornering them.
