"You escaped." It wasn't a question, it was a statement.

"I did," Kara pleasantly responded.

Anakin's eyes flicked to the bandages wrapped around her forehead. "There's protocol for prisoners who have escaped before. It occurs when there's only holding cells and no immediate way to send them to prison."

Kara frowned. "So?"

"You have to be guarded at all times now," Anakin told her, running a hand through his brown hair. "This'll be in place until we transfer you to a prison. I'll have to find someone I trust..."

"And when will that be?" Kara rolled her shoulders to relive some of the tension in them. "The prison transfer, I mean."

"As soon as we find the Separatist base," Anakin said.

Kara rolled her eyes. "So I'll never be alone? Because I'm not telling you where it is, and I don't think you're smart enough to find it."

Anakin shrugged, his robes shifting with his movements. "We'll find it eventually. If you tell us where it is though, I might be able to lower your sentence."

Kara stared at him coldly. "I'm not a traitor."

Anakin put his hands up, giving her a charming smile. "I never said you were! I just thought that since you're going to prison anyway, you might as well try to take away some of the time."

"Don't you have to go meditate about peace, while sending your comrades out to die?" Kara sneered, settling on the bench that served as her bed. "Leave."

Anakin huffed before exiting, sending in a young Togruta with two lightsabers hanging from her belt. She sat on the floor in front of the ray shield, crossing her legs underneath her.

"Hello," Kara warmly said, giving a bright smile.

The young Padawan returned the smile hesitantly. "Hi?"

"Would you mind removing these bothersome binders?" Kara shyly questioned. "It's just that they make it hard to sleep. I'm already in a cell, so why do my hands have to be cuffed too?"

"I don't think I'm allowed to do that." She shook her head.

Kara's lip trembled. "Thanks anyway. I'm sorry for bothering you. I'm Kara by the way."

"Ahsoka. Are you really General Madden?"

Kara sniffled, giving a tiny nod of her head. "Yes. Why? Do I not look tough? I get made fun of all the time for looking so soft."

Ahsoka furrowed her brow. "No, it's just... you don't seem as fierce as everyone said you were. I heard that you tried to kill someone with their own tie."

Kara wiped the trail of tears out from under her eyes. "I try to be fierce, but it's hard sometimes."

Ahsoka smiled slightly, confusion still evident on her face. "I'm sure you try your best."

Kara beamed at her. "I really do!"

Ahsoka sighed. "Alright, maybe I can take them off. You don't seem like you want to kill me..."

"Where would I even go?" Kara agreed. "I just want to sleep soundly."

Ahsoka lowered the ray shield, hand hovering over her lightsaber. "No funny moves though, got it?"

Once Kara nodded, Ahsoka undid the binders, letting them fall to the floor in a clatter.

Kara say down on the bench and gave the young Padawan a grateful smile. "Thank you. I've had those on for a while now. It was really starting to chafe."

Ahsoka turned the ray shield back on. "Just get some rest."

"Dinner."

Kara rubbed her eyes and yawned, sitting up tiredly against the wall. "Where'd Ahsoka go?"

"Commander Tano had some training with General Skywalker. I'm here for the next shift," Rex answered before his eyes flicked to her wrists. "Where are the cuffs? How'd you get them off?"

"They vanished," Kara told him, batting her eyes. "In a puff of smoke too."

Rex gave her an unamused look. "Seriously, where'd they go?"

"Ahsoka took them off for me. She's really nice." Kara reached for the tray of food, motioning for him to hand it to her.

Rex didn't turn the shield off.

"Come on, I'm hungry!" Kara complained.

"How do I know you won't strangle me again?" Rex suspiciously asked, eyeing her warily.

Kara rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "I'll stay over here and you can pass it to me? If I move you can shoot me?"

Rex considered it for a moment. "If you move at all, I'm shooting you." He hit the button and deactivated the red barrier, carefully out the tray down on the inside, then turned it back on.

Kara shivered on the bench, the cold cell getting to her. She didn't say anything though, just began to eat.

"Are you cold?" Rex asked, unsure what to do.

"No."

Rex shrugged. "I could get you a blanket if you wanted."

"I don't need it. I'm fine." Kara straightened, casting him a filthy look. "I don't need anything you can give me."

Rex crossed his arms. "Then I don't need to get you a blanket? The sun's setting and it gets cold here at night."

"I'm fine," Kara insisted. She glared at him before shifting uncomfortably. "Er... what's the date?"

Rex told it to her before asking suspiciously, "Why?"

Kara narrowed her eyes. "I have a uterus and bleed monthly. We're stuck on a planet until I give you the location of a Separatist base, which I will not, and the only other woman in this cruiser is a different species who may or may not menstruate."

Rex shifted between feet. "Oh."

Kara smiled. "And my periods are a bitch, so you better feel ready to face the full extent of my mood swings and pain driven violent moments."

Rex glanced at the door. "I could ask Commander Tano if she has anything or..."

"Oh don't worry, it's not for a while." Kara entwined her hands in front of her.

"Then why did you cringe?" Rex questioned.

"Ovulation. I can feel it sometimes."

Rex slowly nodded. "Should I... get you a pain killer or something?"

"I don't need anything you have to offer." Kara returned to scowling at him.

Rex sighed and watched her close her eyes and try to sleep.

"When'll she wake? I wanna talk to her!"

"Fives, be quiet! It's better if we don't wake her! Then we'll have to interact with her!"

"Come on, Echo! Aren't you curious about her?"

"I can hear you," Kara said, interrupting their argument. She slowly opened her eyes, gazing at the two who had woken her.

The left one had the number five tattooed on his forehead, and facial hair, while the other one was clean shaven.

"Hey, I'm Fives," the one on the left said.

"Kara," she introduced herself, mild curiosity lighting in her. "Where'd Rex go?"

"He did say you'd ask that," Fives remarked. "He had to go talk with Commander Tano."

"Who might you be?" Kara softly asked, slithering closer to the red barrier, inspecting the one who had remained silent.

"Echo," he responded, hands crossed behind his back.

Kara hummed, letting her eyes slide up and down his form. "Scared? Why are you so stiff?"

Fives chuckled. "He's always stiff. We all joke that he doesn't know how to have any fun."

Echo gave him a disapproving look. "Rex told us we weren't supposed to talk with her."

"She talked with us first," Fives argued. "That's not our fault."

"He specifically told us not to interact with her! She's dangerous! Did you not see the bruises on his neck!" Echo dragged Fives further away from the ray shield as if she'd leap through it and attack them.

"I thought that was something he was into!" Fives cried out.

"He literally said she had choked him!" Echo facepalmed.

"I stand by what I said!" Fives smirked.

Echo smacked Fives' shoulder. "I can't believe you!"

Kara smiled. She liked them.

They'd be a part of her plan.
