Prologue
I frown at the mirror, tightening the tie to the point it might choke me. My eyes look weary compared to what it used to be. I ignore it as normal, letting my eyes fall to my suit again. It's weird to feel so abnormal in this black and white cloth.
It's been precisely one year since I last wore a suit like this and that suit is burnt, somewhere far away just like last year. Everything feels like a distant dream that I don't want to be real but it is.
When it looks complete, I leave the bathroom, not letting my glance fall anywhere else. As I reach the living room of our apartment, my eyes fall to the upside down frame on the couch.
When I turn it over, I see her again. She's smiling in this shot, asking me to joking her in the photo. I refused as normal, knowing that she's the center, she's the beauty and I do nothing but distract everyone. I already knew I was a broken piece of glass, that serves no purpose but to destroy and tear apart fantasies.
I didn't even know how the frame slipped from my hand. My features turn into a frown as the glass breaks into thousands of irreplaceable shards. Instead of getting a dustpan, I use my bare hands to pick up the photo, letting the glass prick at my skin until droplets of blood fall to the ground.
The blood pours from my skin effortlessly, moving it's way to the floor easily as I stare at the photo, wishing I could go back in time.
It's too late now and I'm becoming late. A smile comes to my lips as I put the photo on the table, moving around the glass as I make my way to the door. I forget about treating my hand easily, instead thinking of lies I can speak.

A big thank you to Meghu_die_Beste for the cover! It looks amazing!
How was the prologue? This story is only a short story by the way, it'll finish around the tenth chapter or somewhere around there.
