Villain Deku: Collapse
Izuku woke up in cold sweat. His eyes ran across the thick dark oak planks of the ceiling and the smooth Chinese-red walls of the room he was in. His body was heavy. His head ached immensely.
"It... Hurts... So much." He thought, clenching his teeth, "Make it stop..."
He wasn't scared like he usually would, he was angry. No, he was in a rage.
"Make it stop. Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop. Make it stop!"
His hands were pressing on his forehead as if he was trying to crack his own skull.
His eyes widened as he saw the ceiling begin to crack. It was just a single small indent, but he blinked and the entire room was covered in crevices deep enough for a palm to fully disappear inside. A bright purple light was shining from in between the breaks. The room wasn't collapsing. On the contrary, it looked like it was being broken apart into oblivion of light.
"Stop!" He barked, jolting his body into a sitting position.
He blinked again and the room was normal. Not a single sign of any damage done to it.
"What the..." His eye twitched a little, "What was that...?"
That was when he noticed that his head didn't hurt either. Everything was fine besides simple traces of dizziness that quickly faded away as well. He could finally get a chance to look around. He was in an apartment that looked more like a hotel room than anything else. There was a large wardrobe in the corner and a rather big desk beside it. There were various books, papers, and notes scattered all over it. He himself was sitting naked on a rather soft king-sized white bed with only a blanket covering his legs.
"Where am I? What is this place?" He viciously scratched his head before flicking his emerald-green hair out of his line of sight, "That's right... it's my new room..."
He got up, going to the bathroom. He leaned on a marble sink, looking at his reflection in a mirror. His face looked very tired. Big black bags under his eyes accented bright green irises that matched his rather long spiky hair that no longer could fully support itself under its weight. His chiseled body was covered in old scars. The entire left side of his body, from the neck and shoulder to chest and stomach was covered in one massive burn. His expression was filled with hatred and annoyance.
A spike of pain shot through his head again, like someone was hammering in nails from all directions. He fell on the floor. Images of him, but happy and naive flashed in his mind. How he was playing along with...
"Kacchan..." He spat, sliding his fingers across the burns.
Another image shot through his mind: him watching heroes and sketching notes on them.
"Why am I remembering all of this?"
An image of his mother, holding him close, appeared.
"What is this?"
Then, an image of Inko packing his lunch, of her playing Rescue, of her reading out Izuku's 'future hero name ideas...'
"Is that... mom?"
An image of her cleaning his scratches when he fell, of her taking him to the doctor, of her crying along his side after he was diagnosed quirkless, of her getting Izuku ready for school, of her warm and loving smile.
"Impossible! How can I remember all of this?! Mom died! I killed her. Agh! My head! It hurts so much... What the hell is happening to me?!"
He grabbed onto the edge of the sink, as the bathroom began to break apart, with the same bright purple light shining from the cracks. He raised himself up even though it felt like he was picking up a car. Pieces of marble burst all around his hands.
"What is this madness? It pisses me off... I hate it. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!I want it to stop! Now."
"But, Deku-" Kurogi's deep voice echoed in the room.
Izuku was sitting at the bar counter, dressed in a white unbuttoned-at-the-top T-shirt with sleeves rolled up above the elbows, black trousers so perfectly ironed there wasn't a single wrinkle to be seen, silk vest of the same color, and glistening spotless back shoes.
"I said, we're leaving now." Izuku tapped the counter several times.
"Why now?" Shigaraki hissed from a table to the side of the bar.
"U.A. is swarmed with the press right now. This is an ideal time to act. And that is why we are leaving right. This. Instant."
Shigaraki burst from his seat, grabbing Izuku by the collar and pulling him up a little.
"Don't push your luck, brother." Izuku smiled.
Shigaraki growled and let him go.
"Done with your hissy fit? Good. Now get ready, we're going. Kurogiri, you too."
"Wait... this is wrong... Something is terribly wrong."
His head began to ache again. The bar counter cracked under his hand, before splitting apart in an instant. Bottles burst, tables shattered, walls and ceiling tore open, bright light shining through.
"Not again... Why is this happening to me?! This is all so... Wrong."
"Why not?" Shigaraki queried.
The three were standing on a sidewalk on the opposite side of the U.A.'s entrance. A mass of reporters gathered at the gate, interrogating the students and teachers coming into the school.
"If we go in now, we will just get caught and everything would be in vain."
Izuku's head stung, though not as bad as before.
"Why does it hurt again? Why do I feel like I am forgetting something? Something important... Why can't I concentrate? What is wrong with me today?"
"Then what are we waiting for?" Shigaraki hissed from down his hoodie.
A siren rang on top of the concrete frame of the entrance. Panicked voices could be heard outside of the building as massive metal frames rolled up the gates and walls surrounding the school.
"This." Izuku simply answered, "Shigaraki, Kurogiri, we are going in."
The three crossed the road and joined the crowd of reporters and cameramen.
"This isn't fair!" Izuku shouted at the gate, approaching a woman holding a microphone, who seemed the most upset of the bunch, "We demand answers!"
"How dare they lock the doors on us?" The woman stomped her foot.
"I know, right? And that's after they announce that All Might is faculty member?" Izuku responded.
"Josei Nyusukyasuta, Tokyo Daily."
"Nise Kisha, Musutafu General Paper."
Izuku blinked. Now standing on a nearby car, surrounded by dozens of reporters, was giving some kind of a speech. At the same time, Shigaraki was decaying the gate. He blinked again and was storming inside with everyone else. The next moment, he was again on the opposite side of the road with his partners in crime, enjoying the sounds of panic and sirens inside the school, tapping his foot, and flicking his finger to an imaginary tune of the calamity.
"Wait... I was just there. Why am I here now? ... Of course! I've walked here. No... I feel like I've spent a lot of time there... hours? Days? Months? Years? No, that's impossible. Agh! Why can't I gather my thoughts?!"
Another surge of pain shot through his head as an entire building behind Izuku broke apart, spreading through the asphalt cover of the road. The purple light was blinding, pulsating in intensity like a beating heart.
"What?! How could I forget something so big? What is going on with this?! Why did I forget it so... Easily."
"I'm glad, Izuku." A deep though soothing voice rang from a TV in the bar.
"Thank you." The green-haired boy replied, standing straight with hands behind his back as if reporting to a commanding officer in a regiment.
"Is there anything else you would like to tell me?"
"Yes. Shigaraki and Kurogiri worked splendidly and efficiently. You can be proud of them." He smiled, giving a little smirk towards sitting-at-a-table Tomura.
"You can proceed with your plan. The Nomu is yours to control."
"Thank you... father."
"This feels wrong... Why does it feel wrong?"
He turned to Kurogiri, "Call the others in. We are starting."
A gust of dark purple smoke filled the room, forming itself into a funnel. The trio stepped through. They emerged in a massive clean square, with a red dome the size of a football field, a mountainside, a city wreck, a lake, a blue dome, and a staircase in front of them and a bunch of people, dressed in colorful costumes, on top. The entire facility was covered by a colossal dome, isolated from the outside world.
Lights flickered, as a bunch of villains stepped out of the mist. Shigaraki and Izuku followed suit, accompanied by a Nomu. Izuku raised his hand, ordering the giant to stop. The mass began to stroll towards the staircase.
"Where is he?" Shigaraki growled.
One of two teachers jumped down from the stairway, effectively neutralizing three villains with his scarf and quirk, then another, and another, and another.
"Shigaraki, he's on you."
Izuku watched as Aizawa crashed one villain after another. Shigaraki, on the other hand, was slowly walking up to him, counting the second teacher's quirk was active.
"Nomu, protect Shigaraki, follow his command while I'm absent." He turned to Kurogiri, "And we will go say 'hi' to the students."
Another warp gate opened below them, allowing them to emerge in front of the fleeing pro hero 13 and a class of students. Izuku was hidden within the black smoke of Kurogiri's smoke.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," the villain said, "we are the League of Villains. I know it's impolite, but we decided to invite ourselves into this haven of justice to say 'hello.' And besides, isn't it a fitting place for All Might, the symbol of peace to take his last breath? I believe he was supposed to be here today and yet I see no sign of him, there must have been some sort of change of plans we could not have foreseen." He sighed, "Ah... well, in the end, I suppose it doesn't matter. I still have a role to play."
That was when two of the students, Bakugou and Kaminari, jumped at him. An explosion rang, covering the area in smoke and forcing Kurogiri's quirk to dissipate a little.
"Did you really think we would just stand around and let you tear this place to shreds?" The red-haired boy snickered.
Izuku stepped out of Kurogiri's failing cover, still blanketed by smoke, and strolled towards the two, slowly clapping his hands, "You live up to your school's reputation, but you need to be more careful, or somebody might get hurt." The smoke cleared out. Everyone gasped by the sudden appearance of another villain, but not Bakugou. He was terrified to see Izuku be that new evildoer.
"You two," 13 cried out, "Step away!"
"Scatter them, leave a couple of complacent ones to chat," Izuku ordered.
The black smoke engulfed the group and in a moment only seven students, who stood further away from him, and a teacher remained there.
"This is a bit more than 'a couple,' Kurogiri."
"What do we do?" One of them said, "The guy's not affected by physical attacks and can apparently teleport stuff? And then there is the other one, who hadn't shown his quirk yet."
"Class Rep," 13 called out, "I have a job for you. Run to the school and tell the faculty what's going on here. The alarms are not sounding and radios are useless right now. One of these villains must be to blame. Even though Eraser Head is canceling out quirks left and right, we're still completely sealed off from the outside world. Likely, whoever is causing this interference hid as soon as they warped into USJ. They can be anywhere. Impossible to hunt down. It'll be faster for you to run and get help then for us to find whoever's jamming everything."
"No," Tenya barged in, "it'd be disgraceful for me to leave you all behind!"
"Go to an emergency exit." Another student stepped forward, "There are lots of alarms outside, that's why they're keeping all of us trapped inside USJ, right?"
"As long as you can get outside, they won't follow." Sero advanced as well, "Blow this stupid mist away with those engine legs."
"Use your quirk to save others. Be a real hero." 13 reassured.
Tenya assumed the running stance, powering up his engines.
"Even if this is your only option," Kurogiri refuted, "are you really foolish enough to strategize in front of your enemy?"
Kurogiri attacked. 13 opened their gauntlet and countered it with their quirk - Black Hole. Though it seemed to affect him drastically, sucking in most of the outer layer of smoke into oblivion, he turned it against 13. A portal opened behind them, causing the pro hero to tear their own back to shreds.
"How unfortunate," Kurogiri stung, "you've turned yourself into dust."
The children were terrified, seeing their teacher become a casualty on the battlefield. But two were not frozen. Tenya fired up of his engines, zooming away towards the exit. But before Kurogiri could do anything about him, Shoji encaged the Black Mist in his appendages. Other students joined in, making Kurogiri to preoccupied to deal with the speedster.
"I was going to ask you a couple of questions about All Might," Izuku rolled his eyes, "but there is no need anymore. Now I'll be giving you people a choice: we can leave right now, but a couple of you will tag along, or we stay here until the pros arrive, but a couple of you die. It's up to you."
"What am I saying? I would never kill... This is not me. This all feels wrong... No, I won't let this feeling take over. Not now. Not ever!"
"You're not going anyway!" Sato stepped in.
"Hmmm..." Izuku looked him over, "Does this man speak for all of you?"
"If I go, will you leave them alone?" Sero queried.
Izuku smirked, "If at least one more comes - yes, I guarantee none of them will be touched by the League."
"Izuku!" Uraraka cried out from 13's side, "This isn't you!"
"How do you know my name?"
"I don't know what's going on... But I feel like I've known you for a long time now..."
"Nonsense, we've never met before."
His head burst with pain. He fell down on his knees, squeezing his skull and clenching his teeth. His mind flooded with memories that he did not recognize and yet that felt all too dear to his heart. He remembered how he stumbled at the entrance to the U.A. and was caught by the brown-haired girl, how she got trapped under the rubble during the entrance exam, how she tried giving him her points, how they ended up in the same class.
He growled, shooting a glare straight at her. Next moment he was already next to her, closing the ten-meter distance in a split of a second. No one even understood what happened, when he grabbed her by the collar. He lifted her off the ground with an expression of unfiltered anger on his face.
"What is this?!" He screamed at the terrified girl's face, "What have you done to me?!"
"This... Aren't you..."
"These are not my memories!"
Another set of memories flashed in his mind. He dropped the girl, stumbling himself. Images of him, Ochako, and Tenya hanging out and chatting in the dining hall during Lunch Rush popped in his consciousness. Then more and more, and more.
"I'm not the only one... am I?" She carefully crawled towards Izuku, "You remember it too..."
"In the entrance exam..." He chuckled under his breath, "You were amazing..."
That was when the entrance gate exploded from All Might's appearance. But, along with it, the entire staircase split apart, purple light shining from the inside.
"Why does it continue to happen? This... whatever it is, is not happening in equal intervals. Is there a pattern? Why does it continue to... Happen?!"
He was standing a familiar bathroom in front of a mirror. His clenched fist was resting inside a caved in tile on the side to the mirror's frame. He was trembling with anger and fear, looking at his reflection with unadulterated disgust.
"How could this have happened? It was a disaster! How could I lose so miserably?!" He hit the wall again, leaving a little splash of his blood on the broken tile.
"Calm down." He grabbed his fist. His hands were trembling. "Calm down, dammit! Stop shaking. You can make it right. He'll forgive you. Now, stop shaking and get out there."
He glanced at his bleeding hand with a sigh and put on his trademark black gloves. Holding his arms locked behind his back, he strode out of the washroom and into the main lobby of the League's hideout. Izuku stopped in front of a monitor to the side of the bar counter. The screen splashed the words Audio Only as the voice of All for One echoed the room.
"How did it go?"
Izuku took a shallow breath and through clenched teeth answered, "It failed..."
"It... failed?"
"The plan that I conceived failed. I failed. Failed miserably. And now we lost the Nomu and most of the League's members." He averted his gaze accompanied by Shigaraki's distant snickering, "I failed you..."
"Our loses were, ultimately, inconsequential."
"But... I've failed." Izuku stood confused.
"For the first time in five years."
"What's this warm feeling in my chest? It reminds me of something... What is it? What was it? Was it..." A splash of pain shot through his head again as he remembered. "All Might? But why? He was the one who took everything from me, who ruined my life, who ruined me! So why does the thought of him cause my chest to go warm?"
"You've made a mistake," One for All continued, "now you have a chance to grow from it. Or have you forgotten what you aspire to be?" The wall behind the screen cracked, the same bright light shining through. "Wasn't it you who came to me?" The cracks spread onto the floor and walls, engulfing the entire room in a blink of an eye.
"This again? Why do I keep forgetting the world literally exploding? I'm starting to get used to the pain. I can think clearer now. If this isn't happening in a patterned manner, then, maybe, it's connected with the situation itself? I know."
Izuku was standing in the middle of what appeared to be an abandoned warehouse. He seemed to be shorter and skinnier. A tall muscular man with a fully bandaged face was sitting in an armchair in front of him.
"I know who you are." Izuku asserted.
"Do tell." The man replied with a leveled though entertained voice.
"You are All for One, the man, who can steal and grant quirks; the man, who had entire Japan grovel at his feet; the man, who almost killed the Symbol of Peace, but was reduced to this state; and the man, who runs a powerful villain organisation from the shadows."
"And where did this come from?"
"Internet sources, spying, and critical thinking."
"And you, a little boy, knowing all that, came here?"
"My name is Izuku Midoriya and I have a dream: to become your successor, burn this rotten world down, and build a better one from its ashes!"
He grinned, "And what makes you think I'll make you my heir?"
"Those creatures, the ones you call Nomu, they are people who could not withstand the power of the quirks you've bestowed upon them, right? I was born quirkless and had spent the last several years of my life making my body the ideal vessel for a quirk to flourish. Grant me the number of quirks you would give them. If I fail, you will have an additional Nomu at your disposal. But if I withstand their power and take them under control, you will see my potential and allow me to work for you."
The man grinned wide, "I accept your challenge, Izuku Midoriya."
The ground cracked and burst into pieces, bright purple light once again shining through the breaks.
"This again. Every time one of these happens, I remember something that is morally a direct opposite to my actions... But where do these memories come from? I'm not the only one, but why only certain people experience... This."
Izuku was standing in the middle of the League's hideout, surrounded by his fellow villain companions, including several new faces like Toga, Magna, Dabi, Twice, and others.
"This is what I call a job well done!" Izuku applauded, looking at their trophy: cuffed to a chair Bakugou.
"Deku!" The blond screamed, "Release me this instant, you damn nerd!" He struggled.
"Hush," Izuku shushed him, "You won't be hurt, so calm down."
"When you disappeared, we thought you've died. Then you come out of nowhere and start attacking my classmates and now this. Why don't you go back to being dead, quirkless bastard?"
"Always so vulgar, always so rash, always so... unheroic. And saying such harsh things after we haven't seen each other for so long. I feel hurt! You know, after everything that you've done," he placed his palm on his burnt side, "I thought the mere sight of you would be revolting to me, but..." He looked at Bakugou and said: "Nah... It still is, but I've actually kind of missed you."
"How about you uncuff me, so I can give you a hug?" He popped several miniature explosions in his palms.
Izuku's face faded into disappointment. "I know you hate me. Trust me, the feeling is mutual. And I see my words are not reaching you, so I will speak professionally now. Your attitude will never allow you to be a great hero. Heroes look down on you, your classmates consider you a nuisance, and people you save are forever ungrateful. But here, you would fit in quite nicely, you will be respected, appreciated, and embraced for who you are and not what they want you to be, so..." He squatted in front of him, to make himself smaller and less intimidating, "join us. Become the greatest, just like you've always wanted to be."
Bakugou remained silent, looking down on his knees. Izuku smirked before reaching to Katsuki's hands and slowly unlocked the cuffs.
The moment one of the locks clicked open, Bakugou's hand grabbed Izuku's face, slamming his head into the floor, ultimately cracking the wooden tiles, and released a powerful explosion directly into it.
"I will never become a villain..." He growled under his breath.
Shigaraki and others jolted towards him, ready to kill, but were stopped dead in their tracks by a confidant halting gesture of Izuku's hand, "This is between us. Don't get involved."
The smoke cleared out, revealing the emerald eyes looking straight at Bakugou from in between his fingers. There wasn't any fear in them nor indecisiveness. The glare had taken the blond aback. He did his best not to show it, only letting his breath cut short for a moment.
"You're alive..." He grinned.
"And unscathed, I might add." Izuku remarked, accompanying it with a 'one' finger gesture.
Before Bakugou could release another explosion, he grabbed his hand and squeezed. A loud snapping sound echoed the room, followed by Bakugou's yelp.
"Strength Enhancer times two, Kinetic booster times two, Recoil, Air Cannon."
A touch to the chest and the blond was sitting in a newly created crater in the bar's wall. But as he was being hit, he released another explosion straight into the green-haired boy's stomach, blowing a hole in his attire along with the upper layer of skin.
"Your reaction time is as monstrous as ever," Izuku got up nonchalantly, turning his face to Kurogiri, "I'm sorry for the damage to the bar, I will fix it later." He apologized before dusting himself off. Kurogiri told him it was fine.
"What is this?" Bakugou coughed, "What is this power? You are a quirkless nerd, nothing more, a pebble in my wa-" He stopped his sentence, squeezing his head and groaning. "Dammit... I have no idea what this is, but it's not you. Show your true self again!"
"This is me though." Izuku tilted his head in confusion.
"No..." He stood back up wobbling, slowly reinforcing his footing, "Deku I know is annoying, awkward, and a muttering mess with the confidence of a stray puppy, but he's kind, persistent, pure of heart, and the hardest worker I've ever met. What I see before me is a pathetic parody to the one who aspired to become the Number 1 hero despite being quirkless. The nerd I know is the true hero!" He squeezed a fist on his healthy arm, doing the classic shonen-protagonist pose.
"I have no idea-" He stopped as the memories of how he helped Kachan time and time again, how he protected kids from him and getting beaten in their stead, how he studied heroes, how he trained with All Might, how he saved Uraraka in the entrance exam, how he saved Todoroki in the sports festival, how he saved Kota from the villain, and many others flooded in.
"You remember it too, don't you, shithead? I don't know what the hell is happening. I remember Round face, Half'n'half bastard, you and I fighting a villain with the annoying purple light. But I don't remember anything else."
"Purple light?" The ground cracked, shine bursting through the breaks, "This again?! Wait. Is Kacchan talking about this light?! Is this all a quirk? Impossible. What kind of monstrous power does that villain have?! don't remember them. I don't remember fighting anyone like that. But I won't get a chance to ask about it once this stops since I will forget it. Maybe, if I try to burn the question in my mind... Who is the Purple-light villain? Who is the Purple-light villain? Who is the Purple-light villain? Who is the Purple-light villain? Who is the Purple-light villain? Who is the Purple-light villain?" He mumbled.
"What was that?" Toga jumped in front of him.
"Nothing."
"Who is the Purple-light villain? Why did I say that? Purple light... Purple light?"
"Are you coming?" She asked.
Toga, Shigaraki, and Izuku were standing in a long poorly-lit hallway away from the Yakuza hideout. Sounds of a distant battle echoed through the stone walls.
"Yes," Izuku simply answered, starting to move along with others.
"Purple light... Why does it feel so... important? It's like trying to remember a dream after waking up. It means something. But what? Purple light. Villain. Purple light... Purple light! How could I forget the world breaking apart around me?! The villain! I remember I had to ask about the villain who Kacchan thinks caused it. He said that only four of us were fighting him..."
That was when one of the walls exploded, flames and ice bursting from the inside. Shigaraki was about to rush in, but Izuku stopped him. He told him to take Toga and leave while he delayed the hero. The two obeyed, rushing forward. Izuku remained standing in the spot, turning away from them. He kicked the ground and a wall of two-meter tree trunks burst from all directions sealing the way.
"It seems to be logical: I didn't remember anything about the fight, Uraraka remembered only the early stuff like the entrance exam and several training sessions, Kacchan remembered all the way to the encounter with the villain but nothing of the encounter itself. That only leaves Todoroki. I can only hope he knows the rest."
The flaming boy stepped out of the freezing hole in the tunnel, glaring at Izuku.
"Midoriya." He growled.
"Todoroki." Izuku greeted.
"How could you? He was your friend! And you've taken his future away!"
"Bakugou's quirk was essential to the operation. The only way he could've kept it was to cooperate."
"I can't believe you. After all, we all have been through. You - a villain?"
"He remembers. Definitely." He sat down on the ground, "All of this makes no sense to me either. I remember me being a villain for many years, ever since I got this from Kacchan." He lifted his shirt, exposing his burnt side, "But I also remember this never happening. My mother died giving birth to me and yet I remember growing up by her side. I can't find a single good memory of All Might and yet all I feel towards him is admiration, respect, and trust."
Todoroki's flames went out, as he too sat on the ground.
"Why would I ever want to be someone I'm not right now? Why would I ever want to leave this life behind me? I have everything I ever wanted: a father, power, respect, admiration, a girlfriend, and freedom. And yet... everything feels wrong." He sighed, looking at Todoroki, "Was I really a hero?"
"Yes... The best hero I've seen in my life, rivaling even All Might."
Izuku gave a sad smile, "Kacchan said we were fighting a villain, who used a powerful purple-light quirk. What happened?"
"The heroes stormed this hideout. After multiple life-threatening fights and several pros downed, we managed to arrest most of the villains. The only one who managed to escape was Overhaul along with Eri-chan as his hostage. You, Bakugou, Uraraka, Asui, and I were the only ones who were able to catch up with him. You took Eri-chan out of his grasp, handing her to Asui to take her to safety while we stopped Overhaul from chasing after them. We were able to defeat him, but another villain showed up out of nowhere. He used a purple-light quirk. He was much stronger then Overhaul and yet we were almost able to take him out. But before you and Bakugou were able to land the finishing blow he unleashed a strange light explosion attack. You were barely a meter away from him. The only thing you could do was to try to save Bakugou and throw him back. You were hit first, then - Uraraka, who rushed to assist you, then - Bakugou, and finally I, who was providing support."
"I remember! The man in long red and white robe, hood, and a red-ogre mask. Right before he unleashed his attack he said something... What was it again? 'Live another life and once this time is back, be stuck forever in between the worlds?' Something like that. That's some seriously messed up stuff... But there was something else... Oh yeah."
Izuku stood up, taking a deep breath and clenching his fists with the true hero's smile on his face.
"Houkai." He confidently barked.
The ground around him cracked in circles. The breaks began to spread along the whole tunnel. Blocks of rock began to slide apart, the bright light shining through. But this time, the crack began to spread onto Izuku's body. He turned his face to Shoto as the cracks reached his face and began to slither their way towards his eyes.
"I will make it right."
Everything went white. The next thing Izuku saw was him flying through the air towards the Purple-light villain. His hand momentarily reached the robed man's face, firmly grabbing it. The ogre mask shattered under his squeeze, revealing a terrified face underneath.
"Impossible!" The man yelled, "How could you break out?!"
"I had help."
He went silent, giving a worried smile, "You wouldn't hurt me, right? You will arrest me, right? You are a hero after all."
"Don't you remember?" Izuku spoke coldly, looking the villain dead in the eyes, "You gave me twelve years of experience being a villain."
The man grabbed a knife from behind his back, swinging it to Izuku's neck. An explosion rang from his palm directly into the villain's face. The knife fell to the ground, as the unconscious evil-doer slipped out of Izuku's hand and fell onto the rubble below.
"DEKU!" Bakugou's voice rang from behind, "That's mine! Give it back, you shithead!"
Izuku turned around, "I'm sorry, Kacchan, this seemed to be the aftereffect of this man's quirk, see?" He showed his palm that had been producing small pops and cracks of nitroglycerin that quickly became weaker and weaker until, in a moment, they went out completely.
Bakugou, looked at his hands for a moment, before unleashing two powerful explosions. He grinned, but quickly lost his smile, moving up to Izuku.
"I'm sorry, Midoriya... I've been quirkless for two months and it was horrible, but you were like this for fifteen years. I didn't know how that felt..." He walked away.
Ochako slammed into Izuku, squeezing him in the hug before getting flustered and jumping away.
Todoroki moved up to him as well: "It was painful seeing you trapped in that place."
Izuku lowered his gaze in shame and disappointment. "Don't worry..." He raised his head again, a massive bright smile on his face:
"I am here."
