"Did you hear about what happened to Roland?"
"No, what happened?" Magneto, Erik, asked quickly
"She was attacked." Harry Osborn rolled his eyes at Erik's incompetence
"Attacked?!"
"Yes, attacked." Harry rolled his eyes and took a bite of his sandwich
"I heard it was because of some robot thing." Hammer threw in obviously amused that Stark could be blamed, possibly, for part of this
"It was a bird." Bucky finally spoke up, for the first time since the fight they had on the second day he was brought to the facility. With his robotic arm, it was safe to say he wasn't received warmly. They all looked his way as he took another spoonful of mashed potatoes. "A robotic bird."
"How do you know this?" Silver Surfer asked
Bucky shrugged, "I just do. Just like I know why Loki isn't here."
"Well someone's been a wallflower." Dr. Roland walked in
"You're okay!"
"Of course I'm okay, a robotic bird isn't going to get me anytime soon." She sat down at one of the tables with them, "It got Martin though."
"Who?" Hammer asked
"Oh him." Erik knew who Martin was, Dr. Roland always vented to him about Martin's anti-mutant views
"His patients were put on a few other doctor's charts- including mine. Ever heard of Harley Quinn and her 'puddin'?"
"Not a word." Hammer rolled his eyes
"Well, I won't introduce them into your lunch sessions- just yet at least. Both are rather..."
"Loco?" Hammer asked
"More like psychotic." Harry threw in
"Might as well say both, if they didn't mean the same thing." Dr. Roland put in opening her plastic bag filled with apple slices. "Anyone want any?"
"Sure." Erik moved closer to her and took a couple. He stayed next to her and listened to her describe the robotic bird. When she was finished they all looked at each other, surprised.
"Well, as sad as that is, it can't be Stark."
"Why would Stark even want to attack this place?"
"I don't know, maybe it has to do with the government program." Silver Surfer proposed
"What program?" Dr. Roland asked
"You haven't heard?"
"The government wants to restrict the super heroes ability to react to a situation. They're only allowed to react if it's okayed by the government." Bucky threw in, looking bored
"They also have to register their names, identities, and such into a data-base. Can't wait to hack that baby." Hammer smiled at the thought
"It's been great talking to you, but I really have to go check this out. Like now." She ran from the room, leaving her bag of apple slices on the table
"So, the weather's been nice." Erik began
....
"Warren, I need all the information on the new hero program the government's doing."
"You don't have access for that, you know this Stacey."
"Are you kidding me? This can be detrimental to the heroes. I already know of a villain who wants to hack the server and access the information."
"Hmm... then knock that sense out of his head. Give him electric shock therapy."
"That's really unorthodox."
"I could say the same about your chess games, you hypocrite. Get out of my office now."
Dr. Roland did as she was told and quickly made her way over to the one person who she knew had the most information: Steve Rogers.
....
"You have to tell me Steve."
"I don't have to do anything doctor, except wait for my friend to get better."
"Please, I'm trying to help everyone. You know I'm not like the others."
He looked her over, suspicious. "I don't know anything. But I'll leave this bin of recycling outside. Can you see to it that someone takes care of it?"
"Sure."
He placed the bin outside and closed the door. She quickly went through it all and grabbed everything that had to do with the program. Dr. Roland had a lot of reading to do.
