Part Five: Silence

As Midoriya watched his teacher disappear into the black mist he couldn't stop the tears welling in his eyes. He couldn't believe that Aizawa was a villain. Was he the one that'd caused the attack? Was he the one leaking information? Midoriya didn't want to believe it. But there was no denying it. 'They're all I have left'. That was confusing Midoriya. All he had left? What did that mean? Midoriya's head began to hurt and he gave up trying to understand and started running back into the school. There was no point in staying on the roof waiting to be attacked.

The boy found his friends soon and they started to ask questions. Midoriya told them he was fine and that he had just gone to look from the roof to check all was alright.

"Have you seen Mr Aizawa? Nobody's seen him." Uraraka asked suddenly.

"Uh... N-no..." Midoriya replied nervously, his friends putting it down to the fact he'd just had to run through the school that was under attack.

"Apparently he said he was coming to find us but hasn't and Present Mic is panicking now," Todoroki explained. "I'll be honest, I'm not really worried about Mr Aizawa. Present Mic shouldn't be either."

"Yeah..." Midoriya's response was shaky. "Mr Aizawa will be fine. I'm sure of it."

A normal day. No villains. No nothing. Midoriya promised himself he'd have a normal day. He promised himself that he would just forget what happened with Aizawa the day before. But when he got into class and Aizawa was there, waiting for everyone to walk in, Midoriya couldn't help but feel absolutely petrified by the teacher. Aizawa seemed to notice but not draw attention to it. He did seem to be amused when Midoriya flinched at his movements but maybe that was his imagination.

As Present Mic walked in for the first lesson and Aizawa left, Mic shot the other an almost worried glance at him that went unnoticed by Aizawa. The door was closed and Mic went to his normal, loud self and taught the lesson. No distractions. No villains.

Midoriya couldn't make sense of why he kept reminding himself there were no villains himself but he was pretty sure it had something to do with Aizawa and what happened the day before. He was just so anxious! It wasn't going away no matter how many times he reassured himself it'd be okay! He didn't understand it. He'd never been this anxious about anything. Not even the UA entrance exam. It was confusing to a point it was scary. Just the thought of his teacher being a villain, working with the people that tried to kill him, he guessed.

But still, that day there were no villains, nothing bad happened. Midoriya assured himself by the end of the day that Aizawa wouldn't hurt him or any of class 1A. Aizawa was a hero. Maybe he wasn't a villain. Maybe he was looking for an escape. He hadn't hurt anyone and no one got hurt in the attack the day before. Maybe Aizawa wasn't evil.

It was a nice thought.

It was a nice idea.

That nobody was going to be hurt because of Aizawa.

It was lovely to believe that.
