Third pov

  The younger vampire pushed the human behind himself as he prepared himself for anything. Seonghwa's father could do anything- even kill both of them- so Seonghwa stayed on edge as he protected Hongjoong.

  "Hongjoong will not be some sort of blood bag for you people- he is my mate, and I will not let you hurt him!" Seonghwa exclaimed, his chocolate brown eyes glowing a deep blue shade.

Behind the vampire, Hongjoong's eyes were also, now, a deep blue, though he hadn't noticed.

"My word, Baekhyun was right; you did find your mate," Chanyeol muttered, his eyes locked on the pair's blue ones.

"I will not chain him up again- he will stay with us in the house like he deserves to," Seonghwa demanded. Chanyeol's eyes went blue for a couple seconds before he spoke in agreement.

"Fine, bring the human upstairs. You'll have to go shopping for whatever it is he eats," Chanyeol said. Seonghwa and Hongjoong were shocked as they heard the oldest speak.

  Seonghwa took him by the hand and led him upstairs again. Once they were back in the vampire's bedroom, Seonghwa shut the door and collapsed to his knees.

  "Hongjoong, your eyes are blue!" Seonghwa exclaimed, pointing at them with his free hand. Hongjoong furrowed his brows and said the same.

  "So are yours!"

  "Uncle Baekhyun!" Seonghwa exclaimed. The vampire soon appeared behind the human, who jumped in fear before noticing he was Baekhyun.

  "Shit, Baekhyun, a warning, please! That was scary!" Hongjoong asked, his eyes still blue.

  "Okay, I'll warn you guys next time. I apologize for scaring you. What did you need?" Baekhyun asked. Hongjoong looked at Seonghwa confusedly.

  "Do you know why our eyes are blue?" Seonghwa questioned.

  "Can you please let go of each other first? And calm down while you're at it- Chanyeol won't hurt Hongjoong now that you've compelled him." Baekhyun said.

  "Compelled him?" Seonghwa asked. The pair of lovers begrudgingly let go of their grips on their hands and settled beside each other on the bed.

  "You two are a pair of mates I got to choose. I didn't know how powerful you'd be together, but seeing your blue eyes and how Hongjoong is back upstairs alive makes me believe that you've compelled your father. Did his eyes also flash blue?" Baekhyun asked. Hongjoong nodded.

  "Then that means you two are strong- stronger than us- to be able to compel both of us so easily."

  "But I'm still just a human," hongjoong said. Baekhyun smiled.

  "Yes, but you're mated to a vampire. You'll become a vampire soon enough, Hongjoong."

"What? How?" Hongjoong asked. Seonghwa's cheeks flushed and Baekhyun had a gentle smile.

  "When you two mate, you will bite each other, and Seonghwa's bite to you will turn you into a vampire. Your bite is just to complete the marking on him as well. After, you'll drink some blood to finalize your change, and you'll be a vampire," Baekhyun explained.

'At least he's cute enough to be stuck with.' The human thought.

"Hey! Well, thanks, but still!" Seonghwa whined, having read hongjoong's mind.

"I told you to stay out of my mind, Hwa." Hongjoong shook his head.

"But-"

  "No, Hwa. It may seem normal to you vampires, but it certainly isn't to we humans. Don't read my mind unless I am unable to speak."

  "Okay, fine, I won't," Seonghwa agreed. Hongjoong smiled shyly and pecked the vampire's cheek.

  "Hwa, I hate to interrupt, but I am hungry." Hongjoong mumbled, having not ate once all day since he made himself busy with the vampire and his brother.

  "You aren't interrupting anything, Joong. Uncle Baekhyun, how do I get him people food?" Seonghwa asked. Baekhyun smiled and handed the younger vampire a debit card.

  "I'm sure Hongjoong knows how to use this if you don't, Seong. Hongjoong, the card has a couple thousand dollars, I do hope that's enough for some groceries?" Baekhyun asked. Hongjoong's eyes widened.

  "Baekhyun, that's a little overkill, but I appreciate it. Thank you."

  "No problem, Hongjoong. You are to be a Park, so you are to be treated as such, right?" Baekhyun patted the human's shoulder before leaving the bedroom.

  "Oh, and Seonghwa? If you wish to eat a meal with Hongjoong that isn't our type, make sure to take the medicine I gave you." Baekhyun smiled and shut the door behind himself.

   "What do you want to do tonight? Do you want to shop?" Seonghwa asked. Hongjoong shook his head.

"I am way too tired to do shopping tonight, plus it's almost midnight, Hwa. I think we can just get some takeout from somewhere and call it dinner," the human offered.

"That's fine, Joong. Can we go in your... car? Please? It was fun," Seonghwa asked. Hongjoong was a little confused, but nodded anyway.

"Of course we can, we can't just teleport- that's how you do, isn't it? You teleport places or have insane speed or something?"

"I have really quick speed! If you don't want to go anywhere, you could just tell me what to get, and I could go get it," Seonghwa offered shyly, his cheeks flushing rosy. Hongjoong smiled softly at the vampire and shook his head.

"You liked my car, so, instead, we can just go together. Plus, this could be like an impromptu date," Hongjoong said. Seonghwa smiled widely and nodded. He took the human's hand in his and led him outside to his car.

"Remember, you have to buckle up, Hwa." Hongjoong buckled his own seatbelt up and watched the vampire do his own before starting the car.

"Can I hold your hand or do you need both for the circle thingy?" Seonghwa asked softly.

"I do need both hands on the steering wheel to drive safely, but if you want to hold onto me, you can carefully hold my arm or thigh. I don't want to crash and hurt one of us," Hongjoong said. The vampire gently rested his left hand on the human's thigh, caressing the denim-clad area below his thumb softly.

"Where are we going to eat?" Seonghwa asked, his eyes wide as they looked outside of the car windows. Hongjoong smiled seeing his eyes so bright with joy before responding.

"Since it's so late, only fast-food places are open, is that okay?"

"I haven't had human food before, Joong. If you like it, then im sure I will," Seonghwa spoke, still holding onto the human.

"Okay, let's just get some ramen, then head back to your home," Hongjoong said, pulling into a convenient store.

"Hwa?"

"Hm?"

"I really like your smile. You're so cute," Hongjoong spoke honestly, then pecked the vampire's cheek. He unbuckled himself before getting out of the car and walking into the store.

Seonghwa sat in a blushed shock for a bit before rushing out of the car behind his mate.

"Joong, you can't just leave me like that!" Seonghwa whined as Hongjoong picked out foods and put them in a basket.

"I'm sorry, Hwa. Next time I'll give you a real kiss," Hongjoong offered without looking up from the soft drinks.

Seonghwa was shocked once more by the human's outright flirting.

"When did you become like this?" Seonghwa asked softly.

"When I knew I would be accepted into the family since we're... you know," Hongjoong mumbled softly, knowing the vampire could still hear him. Seonghwa smiled proudly and kissed his forehead.

"I'm glad, then. I enjoy this more flamboyant Hongjoong," Seonghwa said. Hongjoong smiled softly and nodded.

"Let's pay and then we can make the ramen!"

  Seonghwa smiled and followed behind Hongjoong, who paid for the basket of snacks and drinks before leading the vampire outside the store.

  "We'll fill the bowls up with water, and then they'll cook!" Hongjoong said. Seonghwa nodded and quickly swallowed the medicine that Baekhyun had left him.

  "How do they cook?" Seonghwa asked, his eyes wide with curiosity.

  "The hot water will soften the noodles and help the powders and sauces mix in better," Hongjoong explained, not caring one bit to do so for the vampire.

  Truth be told, Seonghwa already knew everything he'd asked. Seonghwa was pretty knowledgeable with human ordeals, and wanted to see how Hongjoong would treat him.

  Seonghwa's cold heart and body felt warmed by the human's care and kindness. Hongjoong was showing him how to fill up the bowls to the fill line then add in the packets without any hint of distaste towards doing so.

  It seemed Baekhyun really had chosen a pair of souls who'd be perfect for one another.
