Itzvar

Sophia felt cold, making her body shiver; tiny raindroplets fell on her body. She slowly opened my eyes; the grass was everywhere, and some small puddles. She slowly sat up from the grass, and her headache slowly subsided. That's when she noticed something off—her clothes. She was wearing a dark brown hangerok dress and some handmade jewelry. I also wore a black cloak over it. At the corner of her eye, she saw her bag. I opened it and looked inside.

There were materials: cloth, bottles filled with plants, herbs, other liquids, and utensils. "Oh, they're my medical utensils. Of course, I'm a healer." As she picked up my bag, she saw her reflection in the small puddle. Confusion was imminent; she had a dream that she was supposed to be someone different. Sophia shrugged, ignoring the feeling since she always had strange dreams.

The young woman couldn't remember much except her knowledge of medicine and that she was traveling. Sophia was a traveler who wanted to help others in need. She also remembered that she was..lost. Her stomach growled; nothing else was seen but grassy hills and rocks. "Hello! Anyone!" There was no answer. Fear and nervousness overwhelmed her, but she tried to remain calm. "It's okay! It's okay! You will find someone to help you!"

It was decided that she would keep walking north. She did not know why, but her confidence returned when she walked in the chosen direction. While walking, something was noticed from afar.

Houses!

That meant people! A rush of hope went through Sophia. She began to run toward the village. "Finally, I will have something to eat and drink!" Many people were doing business when she arrived at the village entrance; she stopped when there were men with long beards, hair, and plain clothing. The women had long, messy hair and wore hangeroks and such. They noticed Sophia and eyed her with confusion and caution.

The young woman took a deep breath and walked into the village. Many people stopped to look at her, and Sophia felt uncomfortable. "Hello, I got lost and wanted to know where I am." No one said anything.

Suddenly, some men got their swords and spears and pointed them at Sophia. She got scared and raised her hands midway. "I mean you no harm!" Footsteps were heard, and the villagers focused on the person walking toward Sophia. She slowly looked to see who was behind her. It was a man. "Who are you?" he asked.

"I-I'm Sophia. W- Who are you?"

Gasps and whispers echoed throughout the village. The man raised an eyebrow. "I am Itzvar."

It was silent throughout the village; the eyes of the people were on Sophia and Itzvar.

Sophia was amazed at the man's beauty. His long, blonde hair touched his shoulders, and a couple of braids adorned the right side of his head. He had a muscular build, and his face was broad and fierce, with a couple of scars, making him look older than his age. The man was over six feet tall, taller than the village men. Sophia couldn't help but notice that the pinky on his left hand was missing.

Itzvar looked at the young woman from head to toe. He noticed that Sophia stood five feet and five inches tall with long raven hair; her skin was porcelain-toned, with a couple of light freckles on her face. Her eyes were a hazel color that glowed; her figure was average, with thin legs but slightly curvy hips. Itzvar couldn't help but notice her thin, light pink lips, which made her face pop. Woman or not, he viewed her as a threat. "Why are you in my village, woman?" he asked with such authority.

It took Sophia a couple of seconds to get out of her trance. "I-I got lost, and honestly, I don't know where I am."

"You are on my property, woman. How do I know that you are not an enemy?"

Sophia noticed the fear-stricken looks of the villagers; they seemed afraid of him. "If I was an enemy, why would I come here in the first place? Why would I risk my life if I knew the consequences of entering someone else's property?"

Itzvar glanced at his people and the young woman before him. He walked toward her and stopped a couple of inches before her. "You have a tongue on you. I still don't trust you, but I will let you stay."

"Oh, that's wonderful! I won't create trouble for anyone here. I'm only staying here for tonight to figure out where-"

Itzvar smirked; her naivety amused him. "It seems that you're confused, woman. I mean that you will stay here until I ask you to leave. I can't afford you going to enemy territory and giving them information."

The young woman began to walk back, realizing that Itzvar never intended to let her leave. "Are you accusing me of being a s?!? Well, I'm not! I'm just a traveling healer who wants to help people."

"Well, this is new. A healer who travels to heal people—that's very amusing." He motioned for some of his guards to walk forward, and Sophia realized what would happen and did what she could only do.

Run.

She pushed many people out of the way as she ran out of the village. The guards chased after her, telling her to stop; they were ignored. Sophia tried hard to escape her supposed captors; she feared what would be done to her if captured. Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a horse coming from behind. Upon glancing, Itzvar was seen on his horse, going after her. Sophia tried to run faster, but her legs and feet were tired. "Please! I want to leave! I'm not a spy!"  Itzvar got beside her, grabbed her by the waist, and forcibly put her onto his horse. "Put me down! What is wrong with you!?"

"Like I told you, woman. I cannot afford to let you go; I have other plans for you." With Sophia in hand, Itzvar and his men returned to the village. Sophia knew it was futile to try to escape, and she feared what Itzvar had in store for her.
