"He made me green"
I've heard it all my life.
As a very young boy, I apparently listened as our mother patiently explained to my brother [ a year and three weeks my elder], my older sister [our youngest sister would be born a few years later], and me - about how God created all of the various races on the planet.
In His wisdom, our Creator God gave people various covers of color. I can hear my mother's voice as I think about this. "He made some black, some brown, some red, some yellow, some white..." Somewhere in here I interjected with my now famous statement [famous at least in my family!].
...and he made me green!"
Apparently it was great comic relief for years to come. But it highlights a great truth from the mind of a young toddler [even if it was me].
Our skin color is God-given in creation, and is therefore beautiful and worthy of honor and respect. No God-created pigmentation is superior to any other.
Since the body we inhabit on earth is not the eternal body we will have in eternity, we must not get carried away about differences in skin color. Only our souls will survive physical earthly death. And like all colors of the skin, every soul is inherently beautiful and valued beyond human measurement.
He made me green [actually has nothing to do with the fact I am an accountant]! I relish the greenness of my being! Thank you God for creating the unique, weird, one-of-a-kind me.
