in which an agent in the fbi is targeted
by someone she used to know.

synopsis — gianna barton loved her job. collecting evidence, determine motives, you name it, all except for seeing the mourning tears from victim's families.

since her family lived all over the globe, she had no one - except for her team. gia adored them with all her heart, and they reciprocated the feeling. they were all one big, happy, crime solving family.

when gianna receives vague letters and silent phone calls from unknown numbers, she becomes a new case to the BAU. at first, the taunts don't possess much harm, but things escalate quicker than they had anticipated.

gia's life hangs in the balance of her team's hands, and it's only a matter of time until things go south.

• gia and spencer are NOT the closest, best of friends for a while. from the beginning, spencer suspected that there was a side of her that no one knew about. they're acquaintances, but barely talk
• while his suspicion is true, the only other person who knows about gia's past is hotch ( obvi )
• ^ penelope also knows considering she's directed to keep regular tabs on this person, but she doesn't know why or for whom.
• the people behind this are a group of criminals who she had taken down years ago. one of them believes that she was the reason that his family was killed, when in reality it was his own doing by being sloppy with his work, which lead to gia being on their tails pre-arrest. the leader then punished him for this. OR LIKE DO WHATEVER IDK !!
• DEREK IS HER BEST FRIEND !! THEY WOULD DIE FOR ONE ANOTHER !!
• after gia receives taunting letters and phone calls, her secret is revealed, and so spencer starts to actually warm up to her knowing that she wasn't as perfect as she seemed to be ( in terms of her record, which is extremely clean )
• i kinda planned on gia being taken hostage after being sent to a safe house with derek, like an elle-type situation.
• this is gonna deeply affect derek, obviously. but it also affects spence, who takes it very hard. he regrets being a little closed off to gia for so long, obviously noticing how sweet and funny she is.
• end this however ! gia can survive and the two can create a strong friendship and then end up together.
• OR gia can end up like, dead. though this may not be ideal, there's potential for a really good sequel, where it's in spencer's imagination of what it would be like if he wasn't as cold and how it could have changed the entire situation in his head
