" SYNOPSIS "

dakota lowe loved vegas. she'd do anything to spend an hour just strolling down the boulevard, gazing at the blazing lights and sparkling nevada stars.

of course, when her best friend kirsten invites her on a luxurious summer vacation to vegas, dakota can't find a reason to say no.

matthew and dakota barely uttered a word to each other in the time that they knew one another — they barely even acknowledged each other's existence! when their friends force the two to spend time with one another in a crowded casino, things get out of hand fairly quickly.

the outcome of drinking and gambling is always surprising, especially when you both end up having pawn shop rings on your left hands and a photo of elvis officiating your wedding sitting on the hotel nightstand.

" MEG'S NOTES "

• i came up w this at 3am but now that i listen to waking up in vegas i'm gonna say that it's inspired by that 🥴

• dakota and matthew are frenemies. they don't hate each other but they definitely aren't entirely fond of each other

• they'd most likely take the trip to vegas with some of the criminal minds cast ( like aj, adam, kirsten, and aisha or something )

• of course matthew isn't one to hate people ( obviously !! ) so something must have had to happen for him to be a bit iffy about dakota

• kirsten is dakota's best friend 🥺 their friendship is so so wholesome

• dakota did star as a recurring victim in two or three episodes of criminal minds. her character & penelope interacted a lot, hence kirsten and dakota being really close friends !!

• now some places in vegas require you to be sober when making a decision to get married. you can either totally rewrite the rule or somehow put that into play in the book for a plot twist or something !

• end this however ! dakota and matthew can spend the book really getting to know each other and possibly end up dating and then properly getting married in a few years time ( ofc by paget !! )

• OR dakota and matthew can divorce and remain friends !! OR they can get divorced and start from square one, which can always lead to a sequel !!
