Two of Nintendo's all stars is going head to head today. It's time to decide who is the King of Nintendo once and for all. Which one of Miyamoto's greatest heroes will win the Season Finale?

Shigeru Miyamoto he is a video game designer and producer for the video game company Nintendo. And he is best known for making these two brave heroes.

I'm Phoenix Mason and it's my job to analyze their weapons armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

Born as one of the Seven Star children, Mario was destined for greatness. At that point in time, Mario had started his career as a carpenter with his brother Luigi. But one day, Mario's girlfriend, Pauline, was taken away by a monstrous gorilla named Donkey Kong. Mario left his job and went off to rescue his girl.

Mario is an expert in melee attacks. His most notable move is the jump. Mario will leap into the air, landing onto the enemies head. After landing the first time, Mario can hop up and land again with more power. But Mario's most used weapon is his hammer. This weapon is a wooden hammer that Mario uses to whack foes' faces in. If he hits at just the right time, the hammer can cause devastating damage. He also has a more powerful hammer with made of steel.

He can already increase his size with a Mushroom, he also has the Fire Flower but he's learned how to use Pyrokinesis without it. Mario also has the Ice Flower, which is like the Fire Flower but it shoots ice, capable of freezing foes in an instant! And the Gold Flower turns Mario into gold! In this form, he can shoot gigantic balls of gold! These gold balls turn anything they touch into gold, with a bell he turns into a cat, the Double Cherry creates clones of Mario, he can also fly with the Wing Cap and Cape Feather, and he turns completely invincible with the Starman for a short time.

Mario's fast enough to maneuver through lightning, and ride on the Star Driver which based on the flight distance it must have been moving around almost Mach 400 (Mach 375) and even better he is launched and he can fly across galaxies in seconds that is way above Mach 400. He's even took an castle sized explosion to the face and be completely fine. And in Mario Power Tennis he alongside his brother/sidekick Luigi is standing in the middle of the tennis field when it exploded which was about 2.4 megatons of TNT. he even restrained a Chain Chump Gold is ridiculously heavy. While one cubic foot of iron weighs 491 pounds, a cubic foot of gold is over 1,200 pounds. Luckily, a Chain Chomp is a perfect sphere, so we can compare it to Mario's height to find that it weighs nearly 6000 (5,731) tons. And last but not least Mario picked up a castle a kicked it in the air which was about 61,372,830 tons.

Quick heads up: Mario scales to Bowser who survived black hole, and a dip in the sun. He also scales to Donkey Kong who punched the moon out of orbit which was about 3,346 megatons of TNT. He scales to Wario survived the Shake King blowing up in his face By measuring the blast radius and the world map in Wario Land: Shake It!, this blast equals 95.8 sextillion tons of TNT.

he can throw a baseball so fast, it overloaded this speed gun, implying it was launched over 999 miles per hour. In the Mario World cartoon, he hurled a dinosaur out of orbit. Assuming this creature is of similar size and weight to a Tyrannosaurs Rex, this feat would require a force of over 135 tons of TNT.

Weaknesses
Despite rescuing Peach multiple times, has failed many times in preventing her capture in the first place.
Most Power-Ups can be lost after getting hit, though it is up to interpretation whether it takes one simple hit or a fatal hit for the Power-Ups to go away.

Mario's absurd strength shouldn't be as surprising as you'd think. While he's fairly naïve, and not much of a strategist, he's saved the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser's clawed grip time and time again.

In the kingdom of Hyrule, everything fell into despair when the evil Ganondorf was trying to take over. However, there was a chosen one. His name was Link.

He carries around a boomerang and tons of bombs which used to take forever to detonate but now it can be remotely detonated, along with a hookshot which helps him zip line his way around and brings things to him. Link is an excellent archer, and uses the Hero's Bow in conjunction with several arrow types. However, much of Link's arsenal is more suited to exploration than combat. The Red Ring reduces injury by 75%. Link also carries 3 boots. The Iron Boots weigh 130 pounds, the Hover Boots float in midair, and the Pegasus Boots with attached Roc's Feather increases Link's speed and agility to superhuman levels. But his best defense is the Hylian Shield. Originally forged from the Thunder Dragon Lanayru, the Hylian Shield is completely indestructible. How ever Link also carries some magic by his side.

Shield allows Link to take half the normal amount of damage, it costs 16 magic points for Link to cast, Jump allows Link to jump higher than normal and costs 8 magic points for Link to cast, Life allows Link to restore three bars of his health (32 health points total which counts as 25% to his total health) and costs 50 magic points for Link to cast, Fairy transforms Link into a legitimate fairy which allows him to fly into places he normally can't get access too. however, renders him unable to attack nor defend himself while in this form, this cost 40 magic points for Link to cast, Fire this spell allows Link to shoot two fireballs at a given moment from the tip of his sword regardless of health and costs 16 magic points to cast, Reflect allows Link to reflect magical projectile attacks with his shield as he can even deal damage to certain wizards by simply reflecting their own magical attacks right back at them. Furthermore, it allows Link's shield the capability to block fireballs, throwing axes, and throwing clubs. This spell costs 16 points for Link to cast, Spell A spell simply called spell (yes, this is fact), it allows Link to open the vault that contains the Magical Key. At the right edge of the Hidden Town of Kasuto, if Link casts the spell the vault rises from the ground. This spell is also capable of turning many enemies into Bots. Despite this, more powerful enemies such as the Eagle Knights are immune to its effects. This spell costs 16 points for Link to cast, Thunder this spell allows Link to instant-kill many enemies around him, it is also useful for making certain foes like the Thunderbird to be valuable to physical attacks and costs 64 magic points for Link to cast, Din's Fire A powerful magical spell, Link must perform a special pose before unleashing a powerful wave of fire that engulfs surrounding enemies in flames, Farore's Wind when Link performs a special pose, he will be able to set a point that he could use for fast travel. If he does it again, he could travel to said point or create a new one, and Nayru's Love when Link performs a special pose, a magical crystalline barrier will surround Link. For a brief period of time, Link will be completely invincible. However, he can still be knocked back by a heavy blow and is unable to use magical items while in use.

Link also has a little help from the goddesses, via the Triforce of Courage. This tiny golden triangle embodies his ability to beat overwhelming odds. Link has solved hundreds of puzzles, created many strategies, learned to use dozens of weapons and pieces of equipment, and fought and defeated many strong opponents with different powers and abilities. Overall, Link is very intelligent. He is a puzzle solver, analyzing and exploiting his opponents' weaknesses even when there is only one possible means of winning.

Weaknesses
The majority of Link's powers derives from his magical tools. Without his tools; Link is much less of a threat.
Fighting style is diverse but doesn't specialize on any specific weapon. Link normally combines his swordsmanship with his other tools.
Whenever Link takes a hit that deals damage to him for any reason, he's unable to shoot Sword Beams from his sword until he recovers to full health.
The Hero of Time version of Link in one timeline did suffer a defeat by Ganondorf despite his best efforts to bring him down this resulting in the sealing wars.
Can be instantly killed by his own Cannonball.

But while Link has the necessary tools to take on any opponent, his over-reliance of inventory over pure skill leaves him vulnerable. Still, anyone who can fight a guy three times his size, while wielding a sword twice as large as he is, is still good twice as good as any video game hero. With so many weapons and skills, there are few who can stand a chance against the Hero of Hyrule.

Verdict

Alright the combatants are set let's end this debate once and for all.

The fight

Mario is seen under a tree eating spaghetti just having a good old time.

Mario: Yummy.

Mario continues eating his favorite food, meanwhile Link appears from a distance and spots the plumber from behind a tree.

Link: Who is that? Is that who another person who Ganondorf sent?

Mario keeps eating his spaghetti until he's finally finished then the plumber sighs. But he heard a sound.

Mario: Huh?

Mario thought it was nothing until he looked to his right to see Link ambushing the plumber with his Master Sword by leaping forward to do a slash.

FIGHT!

Mario quickly jumps out of the way as Link slashes at him. Mario does a backwards somersault over Link and then tries to punch him from behind. Link simply turns around and rams Mario back with his shield. Mario angrily rushes back with his hammer to hit Link while Link prepares his sword!

The two strike at each other repeatedly and end up just forcing themselves back. Mario does a long jump towards Link who prepares his shield and bashes Mario down on to the ground. Link jumps up and with a loud "HYAH!" he tries to stab Mario.

Mario: WAHOO!

Mario begins running as Link follows.

Link: Quite running, coward!

Link shoots some arrows to stop the plumber from running but he dodges them. Mario launches up with an uppercut to the hero's chin before letting loose a powerful kick against his stomach. Once Link is down Mario ignites his hammer with fire and tries to smash it down on Link. Thinking fast, Link brings out the Ice Rod and shoots a flurry of ice at Mario to freeze him in a cube of ice. Mario drops down to the ground frozen solid and Link brings out the Megaton Hammer to smash Mario to bits. The ice around Mario begins to shake and melt as Mario smashes out of it and uses the Mario Tornado on Link to hit him multiple times.

Link: GAH!

Link is knocked back but then pulls out his Goron Mask, turning in to Goron Link. He charges up his roll attack and spins towards Mario.

Mario: MAMA MIA!

Mario does a mad dash away from his opponent but is soon smashed by the fast-paced rolling "Goron." Link clobbers Mario with some heavy punches and finishes it off with a smash from his back. Mario is bashed in to a tree nearby and is dazed. The plumber pulls something out from his overalls....a Metal Cap. He puts it on and becomes Metal Mario. He then begins running at Link. Link turns back to his normal form and shoots some powerful Fire Arrows at Mario to no effect as the plumber rushes through them.

Link: How the heck-

Before he could finish Mario punches Link in the face and sends him flying in the air. The Hyrule warrior gets up to recover only to be pin down by the heroic plumber. Nintendo's All Stars continue you to go at it as Mario's Metal Cap wears off.

Mario: Huh?

This gives Link a chance to get back up and kick Mario off of him, Link then knocks his enemy down to the ground with his shield. Mario gets up as Link rushes over and the two pull out some objects. Mario pulls out a Super Star while Link pulls out the Fierce Deity's Mask. Mario turns into '''Invincible Mario''' while Link becomes Fierce Deity Link.

Link tries to slash at Mario, but Mario runs into him with a sparkly rainbow-colored ram. Link is knocked back, but then sends a powerful sword blast at Mario. The blast disperses upon contact with Mario, and the plumber uses Ultra Flame to shoot a huge barrage of fireballs at Link.

Link: GAH!

The rainbow star eventually runs out much to Mario's shock. Mario pulls out the Mega Mushroom and eats it and becomes much much bigger. Link gets up and witness the plumber grow it a giant. Link pulls out the Giant's Mask and grows up to Mario's size. The two giants engage in a fist fight before Mario uppercuts Link to win the brief clash. Mario charges his firebrand to blast Link while he's dazed but is soon met with a Megaton Hammer smash across his head after Link quickly recovered.

Mario: OOF-A!

Mario tumbles onto the ground, crushing multiple trees. Mario then counters Link with a punch and knocks him to against a few trees.

Link: Yah!

Link does a spin attack but Mario jumps over the Master Sword and Ground Pounds Link on the head causing him to get dizzy. Before Mario can land another punch the Mega Mushroom slowly wears off as Link recovers and prepares to do a slash.

Link: You're finished!

However Mario does a Super Jump Punch on Link's chin and knocks the mask of him causing Link to start turning back into normal size too. The two opponents turn back into normal size. Link then jumps and puts on a Goron Mask and squishes Mario. Link rests when he thinks finally killed Mario. Mario then picks up Goron Link and throws him several feet into the air. Mario throws Fireballs at him, burning him. Link then crushes Mario who takes the hit, but appears unaffected. Link punches Mario multiple times, enough times to send the red capped plumber flying.

Link: Hmph!

But the Italian plumber returns, uses an invincibility star, a super leaf, and a mega mushroom and starts attacking Goron Link, knocking off the mask, turning Link into his base form. Link grabs the Master Sword to attack again only to be grabbed by Mario to be threw into the air, and attacked multiple times. Due to this Link drops his shield and the Master Sword which lands in front of Mario. Mario grabs it and jumps in the air much to Link's shock.

Link: No way.

Mario: Here we go!

The Hero of the Mushroom Kingdom pogoes the Hero of Hyrule's chest with the Master Sword 3 times. The third strike splits Link in half whose haves fly far apart. Mario covered in Link's blood takes a moment to take a deep breath.

Results

(In Boomstick's voice): Damn, that's cold! With his own weapon!

This was an extremely close battle, both had no advantage based on skill and arsenal. Link may have held the advantage in experience and intelligence but Mario outclasses Link everywhere else.

First of in terms of strength Link's best feat was able to lift and throw an enormous column of granite. And granite weighs 166 pounds per square foot. Mario picked up and threw a castle that weighs 61,372,830. Though it does mean that Link can wis over a thousand tons of pressure so he can survive many of Mario's assaults but the strength advantage is abundantly clear.

Quick heads up: Not to mention that scaling Mario's strength to Donkey Kong who punched the moon out of the sky which takes about 3,346 megatons of force and scales to Bowser who can lift and throw entire castles as well.

In terms of speed both were fast enough to dodge lasers which should put them both at speeds faster than light, however Mario has been launched across galaxies in seconds which is nearly faster than Link could ever react.

In terms of durability Link surviving a boulder is great and all, but that still PALES in comparison to Mario who survived a 2.4 megaton explosion.

Quick heads up: Scaling Mario to Wario's 95.8 sextillion durability and Bowser's durability who survived lava, a dip in the sun, being crushed, and black holes means Link just doesn't have enough options available to take Mario out for good.

Mario's other categories helped him come out on top. His arsenal of Power-Ups, Gear, and natural powers and skills got him the win. He is better at moving around the battlefield than Link, with his incredible jumping ability and tricks like the Long Jump and Backwards Somersault. Even if Mario and Link's power ups, gear, and arsenal were not included leading it down to just Mario in base form vs Link with just his Master Sword and Hylian Shield the victor wouldn't change because Link's over-reliance of inventory over pure skill leaves him vulnerable while Mario has been shown that he doesn't need his arsenal to prove himself.

Quick heads up: People keep on saying Mario has more experience than Link but I disagree just because Mario has been around for like 8 years before Link doesn't mean he has more experience, sure he has more experience making games but in terms of the characters themselves Link has over 10 generations of experience. Going by that logic that means Sora has more experience than Pit in terms of making games however Pit has 25 years of experience than Sora. Link takes the edge in experience over Mario.

Overall while both characters are so similar and evenly match in terms of skills, power, and arsenal and this fight could easily go in either ones favor, Mario had the edge in just enough of them to earn the title as the true King of Nintendo. Link just couldn't Mari-own in time.

The winner is Mario

Trivia

The connection between Mario and Link is that their both icons of Nintendo created by Shigeru Miyamoto. They both save princesses (Peach and Zelda respectively) and their kingdoms (The Mushroom Kingdom and the Hyrule Kingdom respective) from princess kidnapers who try to take over the world. (Bowser and Ganondorf respectively)

The part where Mario kills Link is similar to Scrooge McDuck VS Shovel Knight to where both winners (Mario and Scrooge) kill the losers (Link and Shovel Knight)use their opponents own weapons against them (the Master Sword and Shovel Blade) the only difference is that Scrooge decapitated Shovel Knight while Mario cut Link in half.
