Ever superhero has saved the world dozen times. However, being heroes obviously means they're gonna have some dark versions of themselves, whether they're good or bad.

And Roxas, Sora's Nobody from Kingdom Hearts

I'm Phoenix Mason and it's my job to analyze their weapons armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle.

The greatest challenge Link ever faced.

Just who is the mysterious Dark Link? A test by King Hyrule for the Triforce of Courage? A simple minion of Ganondorf? Not much is really known about him. It. Whatever. What is known, however, is that Dark Link is Link's shadow. One could consider it Link's greatest challenge. Dark Link is a shadow within Link's heart and while Dark Link is a carbon copy of Link, he not only does he look the same, but his weapons and skills are about the same. Plus, like there's multiple versions of Link, they're multiple versions of Dark Link. Granted, there's not as much. So, because of this, Dark Link's weapons and skills remain mostly consistent.

Powers and abilities
Is basically Link's equal in different categories.
Knows almost all the same moves Link knows.
Moves like the spin attack and fatal blow.
Can hide under ground and reappear to surprise opponents.

Dark Link has knows all of Link's abilities, he is also capable of hiding underground and come out to surprise his enemies he can do spins and fatal blow like Link. Dark Link is equal to in every different categories. Dark Link's main weapon is the Dark Master Sword.

The copy of Link's Master Sword only difference is that it doesn't repel evil cause it is evil and repel against good. It can shoot sword beams, and can fire a beam when at full health. However the Dark Master Sword is far from Dark Link's only weapon.

Dark Link is great archer and uses a bow and fires arrows such as fire, ice, light, and silver. He carries some bombs such as water and bombchus and the Peguasus Boots increases strength and speed to superhuman levels.

Dark Link is just as agile and skilled as Link and can do all his moves. He even tricked Link into pulling out a fourth sword. He rivals even Ganondorf as one of his challenges yet. Dark Link can pretty much do anything Link can do however he has some downfalls.

Despite being smarter than Link, he still loses to him and he doesn't even use his arsenal he just uses his sword and shield and speaking of arsenal he has a smaller arsenal than Link. Still Dark Link will always be the greatest challenge Link has ever faced.

Roxas

Was a member of Organization 13

Created in the image of Ventus, Roxas is Sora's Nobody who was recruited by Xemnas as the final member of Organization XIII. For 358 days, assigned to defeat Emblem Heartless to create a Kingdom Hearts from the released hearts while befriending Axel, Roxas was an activate member of the Organization before he became disillusioned upon learning its leader has been manipulating him and Xion. After absorbing Xion's remains, which are Sora's memories, Roxas is captured by Riku and integrated back into a comatose Sora. Despite no longer being an independent being, Roxas continues to influence Sora and even faced him in a metaphysical battle to understand why he became a Keyblade bearer.

Firaga is a fire attack that can shoot fire, Blizzaga shoots out ice like crystals, Thundga shoots lightning from the sky, he can even cure his own wounds with Curaga, and Aeroga pulls foes in the air. But the powerful one is his Final Limit.

Final Limit:
Only usable when at low health.
Strength and speed are heavily boosted.
Can summon dozens of beams of energy to kill opponents.
Capable of one-shoting Heartless.
Can only use this form for a certain amount of time.

When Roxas is at full health he uses this to summon beams to destroy enemies, and his strength and speed are boosted he used this to one shot Heartless but like all super forms it has a time limit. After that he turns back to normal.

Roxas is one of the fastest characters vein able to keep up with Sora and Riku and they were quick enough to block all lasers from every angle all at once. He battled Xion in many forms, Saix and Axel.mand even better he disarmed Sora of his Keyblade. Sora while using his Keyblade was able to cut through buildings at once with ease. Roxas single handily took out many Heartless. Roxas isn't without downfalls.

Roxas is a doppelgänger but despite being equal to Sora he's still his own character with his own adventures, he can't actually perform the same feats as Sora.

Quick heads up: Scaling to Sora doesn't mean Roxas means can do the same thing he can, as Sora has performed feats that Roxas has never been shown doing. It's like for example Thor scales to The Hulk for example, Hulk destroyed a universe and clapped an entire timeline that doesn't mean Thor can actually destroy a universe or clap a timeline like Hulk can because Thor has never shown to do any of those feats Hulk can.

He may have impressive durability but again he can't actually do the same thing Sora can. And like every other character in the Kingdom Hearts series magic has a time limit once it runs out he can't use it anymore he even doesn't use Limit Breaks until the very last second. Also he can be dumb and arrogant at times. Still Roxas will remain as Sora's Nobody.

Roxas: You make a good other.

Verdict

Alright the combatants are set let's end this debate once and for all this fight will take place in a dark field and there will be no prep time.

The fight

Roxas is walking in an open field when until he comes across a cave. Roxas walks in and sees the Tryforce of Courage. But before he can grab it, Dark Link appears out of nowhere in front of him.

The two doppelgängers take their stances.

FIGHT!

Both the Shadow and the Nobody dashed towards each other, swinging their weapons. Roxas' Keyblades had interlocked with the Dark Master Sword in an x-shaped pattern, letting Roxas get a good view of his opponents face. Looking at it closer, Roxas felt something...familiar about his opponent. Dark Link smirked and released his blade, forcing Roxas back.

As Roxas gets back up, Dark Link quickly lowered his shield, following up with a spin attack. Roxas didn't see the attack coming, getting struck multiple times by the attack. Roxas flew backwards and hit the water, making mini waves form around him. Roxas wasn't done, however, as he got right back up to his feet. Dark Link pulled out his bow and knocked an arrow, aiming at Roxas.

The Nobody rushed forward, letting the Shadow fire his arrows. In a swift and rather sickening motion, Roxas spun around, letting his Keyblades deflect the arrows. Dark Link pulled out a bomb and threw it at Roxas, but he only moved out of the way of the bomb. Roxas jumped towards, Dark Link, swinging Oblivion down. To Roxas' surprise, Dark Link's timing was impressive as he jumped onto the Keyblade. The blade had impaled the ground, leaving Roxas with a face of confusion and shock when he saw Dark Link standing on Oblivion. He didn't attack, or do anything in particular. He just stood there. To Roxas, it was almost as if Dark Link was taunting him, like he was silencing saying he was better. Roxas grew agitated and swung Oathkeeper, only for Dark Link to jump off Oblivion just as he was about to be hit. Roxas gripped both Keyblades and stood up straight.

Dark Link started charging up his Pegasus Boots, running right towards Roxas. The Nobody rolled out of the way, letting Dark Link run past him. Roxas fired fire at the Shadow, whom stopped too late to react to Firaga. The attack hit, making Dark Link tumble over. Despite the hit, Dark Link managed to get up and turn around. Suddenly, he went under the ground, almost as if the water has consumed him. Roxas kept his guard up and looked around, but he couldn't find his opponent anywhere. Realizing that he can see his opponent anywhere Roxas prepares his weapons and heads to the exit of the cave he came in from.

However Dark Link is right there forcing the Nobody to clash with the Shadow.
The shadow based his shield into the Nobody, which caught Roxas off guard and gave Dark Link an opportunity to attack again. He followed up with a horizontal strike, then vertical, and thrusted, trying to impale Roxas. However, Roxas blocked the attack with the Keyblades. Roxas kicked Dark Link back while he had the chance, following it up by summoning a lighting bolt. The lighting struck Dark Link, who retreated under the water again.

Roxas started looking around, knowing that he couldn't keep his guard down. Dark Link appeared behind Roxas, who quickly turned, swinging Oblivion. Though Dark Link was no longer there as he did so. Roxas turned around, only for Dark Link to rise behind him and strike. Roxas staggered forward again, but turned and fired and fire ball. Only for the same result to happen. His opponent was no longer there. The Nobody felt a strike to his back, and he turned and swung. Nothing. Another strike to the back, he turned and summoned lighting...but nothing was there. Roxas was annoyed with this and jumped up into the air, waiting for his opponent to appear. Roxas couldn't see Dark Link at all, and he eventually came back to the ground.

Roxas got back up and healed himself. Roxas clashes with his opponent for one last time. Roxas used the Final Limit. The Nobody pulled his hood over his head and unleashed his final attack, summoning multiple blue beams. Almost all of them missed, which gave time for Dark Link to break out of the ice.

As soon as he did, though, it was too late. All he had time to do was look up and realize what was about to happened. Roxas fired two beams in the eyes causing him to drop his weapons. The Shadow's corpse falls on the ground and Roxas leaves the cave victorious.

Wow that's gonna hurt his eyes everyday

Dark Link was a slightly better skilled swordsmen than Roxas. Though there are still many things to consider. Overall, Roxas was physically superior. He was faster, stronger, and more durable than Dark Link. And again, while it's true Sora was also physically superior to Link when both are at full power, Link was able to handle himself due to his enormous arsenal.

Dark Link's arsenal was nothing in comparison to Link's. All he had was a bow and arrows, bombs, and Pegasus Boots. Because Dark Link had a smaller arsenal his defenses are pretty low. Even though Dark Link has simpler fighting skills as Link he is still doesn't have a bigger arsenal. Meanwhile Roxas has a verity of magic.

Another thing to take into account is experience. Normally, because we're using a full powered Dark Link, I would combine all canon versions of himself. However, there aren't as many Dark Links as there are Links. Plus, Dark Link only shows up for a short time before inevitably being beaten by Link.

So last but not least let's compare Dark Link and Roxas to Link and Sora. I will be taking a look at their strength, speed, and durability feats. Let's start with Link. Link lifted a pillar of black granite with the Golden Gauntlets. In comparison to Link's hight the black granite is about 166 ponds per square inch this means that Link must have lifted over 1000 tons. Link was fast enough to react to blast back Ganondorf's light magic. And Link swings them slightly faster than the speed of sound meaning Link must have been reacted around 770 miles per hour. Link managed to survive hits from Demise, who created a dimension with a sun that's insane. Now moving on to Sora. Sora manages to cut through 7 buildings all at once. s. In comparison to Sora's height, each building was about twenty three feet tall. By measuring Sora's largest slash, and the distance cut through all seven buildings, which means Sora's striking energy is equal at minimum 78 tons of TNT. Sora was quick enough to block 1000 lasers from every angle given the distance Sora had to have been moving at least 100,000 kilometers per second. Sora took a hit from Hercules and he was strong enough to throw a giant from monster into space 24 megaton tons of TNT. In terms of strength Sora's striking attack was far greater than the granite Link lifted, in speed Link may have reacted to one of Ganon's light magic attacks Sora was fast enough to block 1000 lasers, and in durability Link can take hits from Demise and Majora, who threatened the world, but Sora has taken hits from Ansem, the man who threatened the galaxy as a whole. It's clear that Roxas has edge in this category.

While Dark Link's Hylian Shield could block almost any attack since it can't be broken that's the only defense he had. And since Dark Link lacks the bigger arsenal Link has, all he could do was just use what he had.

And one last thing to look at is healing. Dark Link has no way to heal himself while Roxas can use Curaga. Sure, he can't use it all the time, but it's much better then what Dark Link has.

So while Dark Link was more skilled and had the arsenal advantage, Roxas's superior strength, speed, durability, and magic won the day. I guess Roxas had the key to blind Dark Link.

The winner is Roxas

Trivia

The connection between Dark Link and Roxas is that their both dark doppelgängers who are created from the original counterparts (Link to Dark Link and Sora to Roxas) they both are inside Link and Sora's hearts. Unlike Dark Link who is evil, Roxas is actually a good guy.

I was originally gonna make Roxas VS Dark Pit but I decided to change this and put them both with better opponents like Dark Link (for Roxas) and Shadow the Hedgehog (for Dark Pit) with better connections (Dark Link for Roxas who are the doppelgängers inside the original hero's hearts and Shadow for Dark Pit who are anti-hero doppelgängers who oppose the heroes at first but later helps them out in the end.) I'll still make the Roxas VS Dark Pit happen sometime around February 2019.
