Chapter IX
A/N: Sorry if this one felt rushed, because it kinda is. I wanna get into the Battle of the New York.
After being captured by the soldier and man of iron named Steve and Tony — Loki sat in a seat while tied up while being silence. He listens carefully to what Steve and Tony talks about him, he then starts to feel uneasy as he saw thunder and lightning become more effusive. He saw a large figure as a crack of lightning show a hint of green as it opens it yellow-orange eye as he glare at him.
"What's the matter?" Steve ask. "Scared of a little lightning?"
"I'm not overly fond of what follows." Loki replies.
Outside Thor lands on the jet that made it bump and conjolt — Tony puts on his helmet and push open the ramp where Thor lands on the ramp, he grabs onto Loki by the neck and pulls him out of the seat before flying off. With two other dragons flying next to each other with Iron Man right behind them.

In the mountains — Thor threw Loki on the side of the cliff as he groan before his chest was met by a large claw courtesy of Malum who bared his teeth at his father who just chuckles, "I miss you too Malum." Loki laughs as he grunts in pain when his son applied more pressure to his chest.
Sitara gurgles for her brother to get off of him — With a huff Malum lifts his foot off of him, "Where is the Tesseract?" Thor question his brother.
Loki just laughed; "I missed you too."
"Do I look to be in a gaming mood?!" Thor growls.
"Oh, you should thank me." Loki said, he lifts himself up. "With the Bifrost gone how much dark energy did the Allfather have to muster to conjure you here? Your precious Earth."
Thor drops Mjölnir to the ground — He lifts Loki up and said, " I thought you died."
"Did you mourn?" Loki questions.
"We all did. Our father-"
"Your father." Loki cuts him off, he pushes off of Thor and walks away. "He did tell you my true parentage, did he not?" Thor lets go Loki, who walks away from Thor, causing an even bigger wedge between them.
Thor proceeds to follow his brother to try to get some sense into his brother he grew up with, "We were raised together, we played together, we fought together. Do you remember none of that?"
"I remember a shadow." Loki replies as he turn to look at Thor. "Living in the shade of your greatness. I remember you tossing me into an abyss. I was and should be king!"
"So you take the world I love as recompense for your imagined slights?" He questions. "No, the Earth is under my protection, Loki."
Loki laughs at that. "And you're doing a marvelous job with that. The humans slaughter each other in droves, while you idly threat. I mean to rule them. And why should I not?" He ask.
"You think yourself above them." Thor noted.
"Well, yes." Loki said with an 'obvious' tone in his voice.
"Then you miss the truth of ruling, brother. Throne would suit you ill." With a growl, Loki shoves his brother aside as his children hissed at him. "I've seen worlds you've never known about!" Loki shouted as he walk towards a ledge. "I have grown, Odinson, in my exile! I have seen the true power of the Tesseract, and when I wield it-"
"Who showed you this power? Who controls the would-be-king?" Thor asked.
"I am a king!" Loki yelled.
"Not here!" Thor grips his brother's shoulder. "You give up this poisonous dream!" His face soften as he place a hand onto Loki's temple. " You come home." He pleaded.
Loki's eyes soften for a moment; but he was too far gone. "I don't have it." Frustrated, Thor calls for his hammer Mjölnir that flew back into his hand. "You need the cube to bring me home, but I've sent it off. I know not where." He admitted.
Thor points his hammer at his brother; " You listen well, brother." He was then knock off of the hammer by a red blur. Confusing Loki; " I'm listening." He said, sounding amused.
The two siblings walk towards the edge of the cliff to watch Thor fighting Tony in his Iron Man suit — they fought for a good few minutes until the fight was broke off by Steve, he looks down at Thor. "Now, I don't know what you plan on doing here."
"I've come here to put an end to Loki's schemes!" Thor exclaims.
"Then prove it! Put the hammer down." Steve calmly said to the angry God.
"Um, yeah, no! Bad call! He loves his hammer!" Tony said just as he was backhand by Thor into some trees.
"You want me to put the hammer down?!" He cries out as he rose his hammer. He then leaps into the air — just as it made contact to Steve's shield, creating a shock-wave that send everybody flying.
All three of them stood up to look at each other, Steve then proceeds to ask "Are we done here?"

Not even an hour later — they capture Loki and took him into a Hellcarrier by SHIELD, the other dragon siblings flew beside them. Loki is taken to a prisoner made of glass that's held by hydraulic rigs.
Then Nick Fury steps forward; " In case it's unclear. You try to escape. You so much as scratch that glass." He press a button that opens up a hatch underneath Loki's cell — the God peers forward to see a thousand foot drop along with gusts of wind. "Thirty thousand feet, straight down in a steel trap. You get how that works?!" He yells out as he press the button to close up the hatch.
He points at Loki; "Ant." And then the button. "Boot."
Loki chuckles; "It's an impressive cage. Not built, I think, for me." He told him.
"Built for something a lot stronger than you." Nick tells him.
"Oh, I've heard." He then looks up at the camera, knowing that everyone's looking at him. "The mindless beast, makes play he's still a man. How desperate are you, that you call upon such lost creatures to defend you?" He questions.
"How desperate am I? You threaten my world with war." Nick replies. Stepping closer to look at the God. "You steal a force you can't hope to control. You talk about peace and you kill 'cause it's fun. You have made me very desperate. You might not be glad that you did."
"Ooh. It burns you to come so close. To have the Tesseract, to have power, unlimited power. And for what? A warm light for all mankind to share, and then to be reminded what real power is."
Nick just smiles; "Well, you let me know if Real Power wants a magazine or something." He then walks away, leaving Loki who stares at the camera.

In the Briefing room; the others stare at the camera to watch Loki. They're stunned at what just happen, "He really grows on you, doesn't he?" Bruce spoke up.
"Loki's gonna drag this out. So, Thor, what's his play?" Steve ask the other God.
Thor looks over at them "He has an army called the Chitauri." He replies. "They're not of Asgard or any world known. He means to lead them against your people. They will win him the earth. In return, I suspect, for the Tesseract."
"An army? From outer space?" Steve questions, sounding serious about this.
" So he's building another portal." Bruce explains. "That's what he needs Erik Selvig for."
"Selvig?" Thor questions.
"He's an astrophysicist."
"He's a friend."
Natasha then spokes up; "Loki has him under some kind of spell, along with one of ours."
Steve went on to explains; "I wanna know why Loki let us take him. He's not leading an army from here."
"I don't think we should be focusing on Loki. That guy's brain is a bag full of cats, you could smell crazy on him." Bruce spoke up.
"Have care how you speak." Thor told them, walking up to the table. "Loki is beyond reason, but he is of Asgard, and he's my brother."
"He killed eighty people in two days." Natasha points out.
Thor pauses for a minute, then adds. "He's adopted."
Bruce then went on to say; "I think it's about the mechanics. Iridium, what did they need the Iridium for?"
" It's a stabilizing agent." Tony spoke up as he spoke to Phil before adding. "Means the portal won't collapse on itself, like it did at SHIELD." He then looks at Thor. "No hard feelings, Point Break. You've got a mean swing. Also, it means the portal can open as wide, and stay open as long, as Loki wants,"
He then went on to add; "The rest of the raw materials, Agent Barton can get his hands on pretty easily. Only major component he still needs is a power source. A high energy density, something to kick start the cube."
"When did you become an expert in thermonuclear astrophysics?" Maria chimed in.
"Last night." Tony replied. "The packet, Selvig's notes, the Extraction Theory papers. Am I the only one who did the reading?"
"Does Loki need any particular kind of power source?" Steve chimed in.
Bruce went on to explain, "He's got to heat the cube to a hundred and twenty million Kelvin just to break through the Coulomb barrier."
"Well, if he could do that he could achieve Heavy Ion Fusion at any reactor on the planet." Bruce said.
"Finally, someone who speaks English.!" Tony exclaims as he shook Bruce's hand. " It's good to meet you, Dr. Banner. Your work on anti-electron collisions is unparalleled. And I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous green rage monster."
Bruce looks down as he heard the comment, "Thanks."
Then Nick Fury walks in; "Dr. Banner is only here to track the cube. I was hoping you might join him."
"I'd start with that stick of his. It may be magical, but it works an awful lot like a HYDRA weapon." Steve told him.
"I don't know about that, but it is powered by the cube. And I'd like to know how Loki used it to turn two of the sharpest men I know into his personal flying monkeys."
Thor looks at Nick, confused. "Monkeys? I do not understand."
"I do!" Steve exclaims. " I understood that reference." Thor rolled his eyes at that.
"Shall we play, doctor?" Tony ask Bruce who nods his head. "Let's play some." Then they walk out of the Briefing room.

An hour have passed since Loki was caged in his glass prison — he paced back and forth he then stops in his tracks — he smirks as he spoke; "Hmm. There's not many people that can sneak up on me." he turns to see Natasha standing in front of him.
"But you figured I'd come." She tells him.
"After." He said. "After whatever tortures Fury can concoct, you would appear as a friend, as a balm. And I would cooperate."
Natasha steps forward towards the cage; "I wanna know what you've done to Agent Barton."
"I'd say I've expanded his mind." He shrugged.
"And once you've won. Once you're king of the mountain. What happens to his mind?"
Loki smirks, "Is this love, Agent Romanoff?" he questions.
"Love is for children." Natasha replied. "I owe him a debt."
"Tell me." Loki said as he sat down on a bench as he listens to Natasha's story.
"Before I worked for SHIELD, I uh...well, I made a name for myself." She sat down on a chair and continued. "I have a very specific skillset. I didn't care who I used it for, or on. I got on SHIELD's radar in a bad way. Agent Barton was sent to kill me, he made a different call."
Loki went on to ask. "And what will you do if I vow to spare him?"
"Not let you out." Natasha replied.
Loki just laugh, "Ah, no. But I like this. Your world in the balance, and you bargain for one man?"
"Regimes fall every day. I tend not to weep over that, I'm Russian... or was." Natasha said.
"What is it you want?" He asked.
"It's really not that complicated." She replied. "I've got red in my ledger, I'd like to wipe it out."
"Can you?" Loki questioned. "Can you wipe out that much red? Dreykov's daughter?"
Natasha's eyes widen when he said that, she stood up from her seat to look at him.
"Sao Paulo? The Hospital fire?" Loki continues on. "Barton told me everything. Your ledger is dripping, it's gushing red, and you think saving a man no more virtuous than yourself will change anything?" He stood up as his voice becomes more and more venomous —
he stood up from his seat to make his way towards the glass that separates from him and Natasha. "This is the basest sentimentality. This is a child at prayer— Pathetic! You lie and kill in the service of liars and killers. You pretend to be separate, to have your own code, something that makes up for the horrors. But they are a part of you, and they will never go away!"
He then slams his fist against the cell — making Natasha flinched; " I won't touch Barton. Not until I make him kill you! Slowly. Intimately. In every way he knows you fear! And when he'll wake just long enough to see his good work, and when he screams, I'll split his skull!"
Natasha turns away from Loki but he continues; "This is my bargain, you mewling quim!"
Natasha sniffles as she said, "You're a monster."
Loki laughs, "No." He removes his fist hand from the glass. "you brought the monster."
Natasha turns to look at the God, looking unfazed by him. "So, Banner... that's your play."
Loki looks at her, his face was mixed with shock and confusion. "What?"
Natasha went onto her earpiece to say, "Loki means to unleash the Hulk. Keep Banner in the lab, I'm on my way. Send Thor as well." She then turns to eyes the confused Loki. "Thank you for your cooperation." She taunts before leaving him.

Meanwhile outside the dragon siblings still flew next to the Hellcarrier — Siatara lifts her head as she sniffs the air but didn't smell anything — she shook her head and continued flying.
Unaware that a silhouette of something flying high above them in the clouds, ready to attack.
