In the residence of Minister of Land, a young man sat in the lone room while listening to the reports his personal servant reciting. A small smile placed on his lips and he nodded with satisfaction.

"I must thank the new investigation officer for creating this situation and allowing me to grab this chance" he said as he smiled. He has been longing to marry Liya but because his father has some dispute with the state minister, he couldn't procceed with his desire and had to supress it inside his heart. But now that the situation has turned around he jumped on it and grab it tightly. It was not a big deal for him to convince his father giving few reasons but it will be hard to convince the deputy minister to agree to this proposal. But now the current situation is where everyone want to get hold on power so it has given him a good opportunity.

"Master, are you are going to marry the second daughter of the deputy residence?" The servant asked after finishing his report.

"Why not? I have seen the lady before. Such a beautiful and quiet lady and full of manners who won't want to marry her?" The young man replied.

"But what about the current mistress?"

The young man frowned "what about her? It's not like I am snatching her position or demoting her status. I am just marrying a second wife that's all"

The servant nodded "the mistress has heard about the rumours already. I fear she will come to confront master"

"Let her be. I know what to do. Besides I have gotten such golden chance and I won't let anyone to ruin it no matter what"

Just as his voice fell someone announced the arrival of current wife. The young man showed a dissatisfied expression. A young lady clad in green walked in. She was young and beautiful. Her bright texture of skin gives a charming look. She was wearing light jewelries but she still looks beautiful in it.

"Why are you here?" The young man asked.

"Husband I heard some rumours and couldn't stand still so I am here to clarify it" the woman replied in gentle voice.

"What rumours?" The young man leaned back on the head of the couch.

The woman looked at him before replying "I heard that husband is preparing for another marriage?"

"Since you already know it then there's nothing to hide. What your heard is right. I am marrying a wife" the man replied without hesitation.

The woman's heart clenched tightly. She wanted to cry in anger but couldn't. At least not now.

"Why husband want to marry another woman? I have been serving you with all my heart and with everything I have" her voice chocked a little.

The man gestured others to leave the room. This things are private matters and he won't let other to hear it. Once the room was empty except the couple he looked at the woman again.

"What with this? Didn't you said you will follow me sincerely and will accept everything that I command?"

"Husband as a wife I have given into everything you asked me and served you with loyalty. But also as a wife don't I have little right to ask you something?" The woman almost cried out. Just hearing the fact that her husband going to bring another woman her heart filled with agony.

"I have given you right that's why I am letting you know" the man said as he get up "you are my wife and following me quietly so I won't conceal it from you. I like the second daughter of deputy residence. She is well mannered and will get along with you well. You as s first wife should teach her everything after she enter the residence"

The woman bite her lips. She really can't believe if she heard it right. Her husband is now ordering to get along with his new wife? She was his wife bit he seems like ordering a servant to serve him well. She couldn't help but clenched her fist. Before marrying this is the same person who put many promises but now it seems like everything was just a joke back then. People can change so does those promises too.

"After marrying into this residence I have given my everything to make it better and has done what a good daughter in law should do. Husband tell me where did I lack in my duty that now you are so unsatisfied with me and want to marry again?" She cried out unable to control.

"Lack?" Suddenly the man laughed out "are you asking me this? Don't you understand it by yourself?" His tone become harsh.

The woman looked at him with confusion. Seeing her like this the man sneered.

"It has been 2 years since you married me but you are unable to give me a child. And now you are asking me where do you lack? I can see your hard work in keeping the family happy but as a man how can I live without any kids. You can't give me that so I have to find a way. And you can't accuse me for being too hard because I have to think of my reputation too"

Child? The woman's lips twisted painfully. It's not like she don't want to have a child but she is helpless. But the real problem of who have the inability was not her but the person who was standing infront of her. She has been checked by many special doctors for this matter and none of them found any wrong with her body. They even told her she is healthy enough to bear child but who knew that the man she married is unable to give one. But now he is accusing her for that? She even asked him to see a doctor if there's any problem but everytime he used saying-

"Our generation are all healthy men and we don't have any problems like that. My mother was pregnant with eldest brother in one month after marriage and the line still went on. How could you ask me such nonsense thing?"

After that she never persisted thinking may be she is thinking too much but even after two years theres no news for a child. But with a proud heart he threw all the accusation on her. She really wanted to ask if his condition stays like that no matter how many woman he brings in will he ever able to see the face of his child in this life?

"Is that what you can give as a good reason?" She asked "before marriage you promised my father that there will be only me as your wife for life time but now you are going back from your words?is this the loyalty?"

"Don't argue over past things. It has already been decided and both sides has already agreed. There's no point for you to cause troubles. Miyu you are sensible one and I hope you can understand me and lend me a helping hand. I don't want to argue with you over this matter so it's better you don't bring it up again. I am tired you can leave" he waved his hand dismissing her.

The woman named Miyu clenched her fist tightly with anger. If it was not for the fact that he was her husband she would have write a latter to her father informing about the current matter. Looking at the man who seemed to relaxed like nothing happened she couldn't help but feel anger raising inside. She knew arguing with him is meaningless so she huffed and left the room immediately.

Manik returned in the residence during lunch time. Nandini was surprised because this days he is working late for the court matters so she didn't expected him to return in half day.

"Your majesty you are early today" she said  as she handed him a glass of water.

"Work is done early so I thought it will be better to return back" he said and drank the water.

Nandini sit down beside him and asked "what's the matter. Is the court still hard to handle?"

"No, it's easier. At least after the deputy minister and land minister joined hands,it really helped me see through their plans"

"I don't think the joining hands will remain unmoved in future" Nandini replied.

Manik smiled "those are all greedy bastards who only knows power and don't value other things at all. You know too much greed always destroy everything"

"This marriage, why do I feel like it's going to end soon?"

"It has been quite a long since we arrived. The matters of Patchal has already been investigated and I have already send the reports"

"You did?" Nandini exclaimed in surprise.

Manik nodded "for them I am still observing the matter so they are gathering themselves so that they can fight against me. But since I am taking charge personally I won't wait for them to attack first. It's better to give them their own medicine before they have the chance too prepare"

Nandini smiled, she never doubted on her husband and ability. He is such an intelligent person that can handle everything smoothly without leaving any traces. From this perspective she really admire this man and his ability.

"What are you thinking?" Manik knocked on her forehead playfully.

Nandini shook her head "I was thinking since Patchal's matter is going to end then we can leave soon"

He laughed "you are that desperate to leave?"

"I miss home" Nandini frowned.

"Oh, which home, the palace or general mansion?" Manik teases holding her chin.

Nandini pushed his hand away "your majesty stop teasing me"

"You haven't answered me yet"

Nandini rolled her eyes "of course it's palace, there is mother and also Maya with the little one. And that girl Atropa, she will die with uneasiness if I don't return soon"

"She is about to become second princess consort" Manik informed.

"It's still early to talk about it. Let them decide it first"

Nandini fell in silence. She pondered for a while before looking at him again.

"Since you decided to end this matter then when you will be taking the charge?"

Manik looked at her before replying shortly "tomorrow"

This ancient man always eager to get new wife. I guess if he is in modern era he would have recieved double slaps for thinking of marrying again from his own wife 😂
