-Steve POV-

"Bruce! Bruce get in here! It's Alice!" I scream at the top of my lungs. I run to her side, holding her hand. No wonder her touch was warm! She was alive! She's coming back to me!

"What? What's the matter?" He was confused.

"Look! It's her heart rate! It's back! Her heart's beating!" My tears of sadness had switched to happiness.

"The antidote. It must've started working. It's incredible." Bruce checked her pulse. "Her pulse is getting stronger. I don't know how this is possible! She's been dead for almost fifteen minutes!"

Fifteen minutes. Alice was dead for fifteen minutes. Those fifteen minutes completely changed me. They felt like fifteen years.

"We've got a heartbeat. I'll do my best to make sure her heartbeat won't stop. But, I'm going to have to ask you to leave for a few minutes." Bruce asks me.

I nod my head and stand. If leaving this room means that Alice can have another shot at life, by all means, I will leave this room.

"Take care of her." I say, before I walk away.

"I will." Bruce replies.

I sit back down. A huge sigh of relief washes over me. My beautiful Alice has a heartbeat. She's alive! She's coming back to me.

"Captain Rogers, we'll be arriving at headquarters in about five minutes." Maria calls from the front of the jet.

Five more minutes. If Alice's heart can keep beating for five more minutes, she can have a second chance at life. Once we arrive at SHIELD, the medical team can make sure her heart won't stop again. If Alice doesn't remember me telling her I love her, I will make sure that she hears it when she wakes up. She needs to know.

When the jet lands, I lose track of Alice. She must've been taken back to the hospital. I begin to walk back to the hospital wing, when I come face to face with Fury.

"Cap, is Cole Mathews dead?" He asks me.

"Yes sir. I believe so." I respond.

"Good. One less threat to worry about. Now, tell me about the water bottle scenario. I understand that it was poisoned?" Fury asks.

"I had no idea at the time. It wasn't until after Alice was sick, that I noticed it was poisoned. However, and antidote was administered. She should be alright." I said.

"Good. Last time checked, she was in the hospital wing. She should be out any moment now."
