Love on a first sight?
The sun was shining trough the class, warming my still cold hands from the outside. I tried to find a page in my book where I left off, but before I could find it, someone came inside so I was disturbed by a small bell above the door.
I did not even had to look up, because I exactly knew who it was.
"Right on time." I smiled for myself and catch a sight of him in a corner of my eye.
His long brown hair were slowly falling in curls on his shoulders. He could use appointment at his hairdresser. But he is probably too busy with his writing. He always writes when he is here, or maybe he just checking his email? But I think he writes, poems probably, he is exactly the type.
I still remember the first time. It was snowing, when he came inside I still had a chance to spot little snowflakes in his hair. I knew exactly that he was the one.
He ordered his usual which is flat white and piece of cheesecake and sat down at his table back in the store.
He take out his laptop and turn it on, I knew exactly what he is going to do. He will be waiting until the laptop turns on but when it does he will start eating his cheesecake so he don't have to start working at his writing just yet. He will do everything to procrastinate.
I have to smile to myself, this is so him.
This is my chance, after all these weeks, I think I am ready to meet him.
"Okay, let's go, Grace, you can do this!" I muttered to myself, standing up, making my way to his table.
It was the longest way I have ever experienced, I almost felt everyone in the café staring at me. I knew they weren't, they didn't care, like everyone in this town, they only care about themselves, their problems.
"Hello... My name is Grace, I have seen you here many times, not that I have been watching you or something... I just thought maybe we will have something in common when we are visiting the same coffee shop, almost every day." I smile nervously and my hand automatically goes trough my hair. "May I sit down?"
He don't even bother to look at me, staring into his computer at something. "Yea, sure, whatever." Rude!
With a small smile I sat down across him. "So... Uhm... What is your name? If you don't mind me asking?"
"George." He answers. George? I was expecting something more fancy. Something like Benjamin, Francis or Frederick. George sounds so... boring.
"Nice to meet you, George. So what brings you here to this café everyday?"
"It is the nearest one to my office." He shrugged, finally look at him. I can almost touch his boredom that I felt from him. And he really did work at office, what a shame, he is the perfect type for writer. But maybe he is an editor, that is close to a writer, right?
"Oh, that is nice to hear, what are you doing for living?"
"Finance, of course." He take his cup to take a sip. For the first time I can see the expansive watch sitting perfectly on his wrist. "I am sorry, but do you need something specific? Because I have a work to do and you are distracting me."
George, you are an idiot, and I was fooled by your appearance.
"No, I am sorry. Have a nice day, George." I stand up quickly and making my way back to my table but I can still hear his phone ring and him picking it up. "Yes, babe?"
And you also have a girlfriend.
