I Kings 11:9

"So the Lord became angry with Solomon, because his heart had turned from the Lord God of Israel, Who had appeared to him twice."

(For a while, Solomon appeared like the fated king who would establish David's line forever. However, in this moment Solomon fell far short of that. All other kings after him would not follow the Lord, except for Hezekiah and Josiah.)
