Deuteronomy 28:45-47

"'Moreover all these curses shall come upon you and pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.'"

"'And they shall be upon you for a sign and a wonder, and on your descendants forever.'"

"'Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything.'"

(God is not just a being of love and affection. He is just and a very jealous God. He's not One to simply forget what you've done against Him, until you whole-heartedly repent. At the same time, the God of the Old Testament is the God of the New Testament. They are not separate beings. God does love and care for all and everyone. He does not wish for anyone to go to Hell, but for all to come to Him.)
