Joel 1:2-3

"Hear this, you elders, and give ear all you inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?"

"Tell your children about it, let your children tell their children, and their children another generation."

(God is punishing Israel here by having other nations rise up against it and destroy the lands. He has no more patience for Israel, because they just kept on disobeying His commands and did whatever they wanted whenever they wanted. Which always, always resulted in sin and deterioration of their morals and society itself. Just like what is happening with America today. Deterioration because everybody is doing whatever the heck they want.)
