I walked about with the truth of being the daughter of the richest man in the country,I got my wish but now I was really sad instead of being happy,I never planned to be an illegimate  child.

Chisom had returned home earlier that week with her bags,she had finally left her marriage,it was just too toxic for her and she had stayed because of my dad and now her was gone,she couldn't take it anymore.

"Sometimes he would come home late and very drunk, he would beat me up and have his way with me forcefully. I'll cook and he'll insult my food,he doesn't have respect for me,in my presence he will bring girls home and defile our matrimonial bed,I can't take it,I can't,I just had to leave"Chisom explained to me and when I told her about my own problem,she consoled me as I cried in her arms

Since the past week however I've being receiving all sorts of expensive presents from my dad,they all looked classy and for the edibles,Chima helped me in eating them,Chima also knew the truth.

"I cannot come and kill myself" he would say non chalant. My mum hardly left her room.

Well this morning when I got to school,I was about to walk into the classroom block when I was stopped by him,yes, Mr Dozie Ani, multi billionaire that was my dream dad until a week ago when he became my real dad

"Good morning sir" I greeted him

"How are you doing my dear?" He asked

"I'm fine"

He was wearing a tee-shirt and Jean trouser with expensive looking sneakers,he was dressed very casual.

"I know you know the state of our relationship,I never knew until recently, I'm so sorry things turned out this way and I really hope you can forgive me" He said gently.

"No problem,it's not your fault that I'm a mistake"

"No Veronica,you aren't a mistake,you are a beautiful young woman,my look alike,my jewel,I remember seeing you at the principal's office and I was more amused at a young lady who could stand up for herself and an intelligent one that could pull pranks" He chuckled and I joined,it was so infectious.

"Hope you got the presents?" He asked and I nodded and then he looked closely at me and then held my chin

"Veronica I want you to know one thing and that is ,you are my daughter and not a mistake and I love you just like every other child of mine,I might not be perfect but I'll try my best to get it right"

It felt weird when he hugged me,we were away from students the reason why people were not tripping to see the richest man in Africa. It felt right in my dad's arm but one human being just had to scream and of course it was Amanda,she had heard everything obviously

"You witch,you tried taking my name and popularity and now my father,why are you trying to steal everything from me,I hate you, you can never be me"Amanda yelled like a mad woman and then pushed me away from my dad  and then hugged him tightly.

"Amanda your problem is that you think everyone envys you,sorry dear,I don't want to be you cos you stink, your attitude stinks like gutter,I don't care if you hate me,you are just an insecure brat that thinks life is a competition" I shouted back at her and fighting back my tears,I stormed off. I was becoming too emotional for my liking.

I couldn't go to class in my state,I had to wash my face so I went to the girls restroom and there I found Adaora curled up on the floor,pills all around with a note beside her.

To anyone reading this,I might have died,it's not my intention to commit sucide but I had to, I'm tired of being unloved,I'm tired of being sad, tired of being the dumbass baby elephant

I ran out to get help and I did, Adaora was carried to Mr Dozie's car,she was still breathing thankfully,I got into the car and the driver drove very fast to the hospital.

Adaora remained unconscious for few  days and during those days her parents refused to leaver her side, blaming theirself for her condition. She was clearly a victim of inferiority complex  and she fell deep into depression.

However she came around finally and I was so happy.

"Thank God nothing happened to you" I cried as I hugged her

"I don't deserve you Veronica,I'm really sorry,so sorry..." She tried to continue but I stopped her.

"It's all in the past now, I'm also sorry for not seeing your problem,it's all in the past and I hope we can start afresh" I told her and she nodded with a grateful smile.

"Your brother left not too long ago and your parents too" I said and I noticed her smile disappeared

"Adaora you should forgive them,they are only humans and making mistakes is part of our DNA" I told her and she nodded again.

Well that was settled,I had my best friend back
