Adaora and I laughed at some jokes and just then Amanda walked up to us

"What are you and your fat friend here talking about?" She asked like she was some sort of queen

"First of all,Adaora is not fat,its nobody's fault that you are like this and how is it my business" I replied her

"I don't know who or what is giving you so much nerves" she said looking at me intently

"Nothing really, you should get over yourself Amanda,your dad isn't even the richest man in Nigeria" I told her and she only smiled

"But his the second richest" And then leaning on the table, she brought get face closer to mine and continued "What about your dad Veronica, what number is he? Does he even earn half of what the gateman in this school earns?" She asked and I raised my hands to slap the stupid smirk off her face but then she caught my hands in the mid air

"I wouldn't do that if I were you"she said before walking away.

"What really is her problem?" Adaora asked herself rhetorically 

I knew why Amanda was mad at me,we were in the chemistry lab and she probably made the mistake of adding sodium and water and geez,the explosion was quite a sight and then I laughed like really hard,Bisi joined me and soon she was on the floor clutching her stomach.

I really felt bad about what she had said, dad wasn't financially buoyant and I hated when people spoke about it and then principle Collins had warned me never to fight again or I would leave the school.

I returned home and rushed to the fridge to drink chilled water, as I gulped down the liquid, I could feel it in every part of my body

"Is mum around?" I asked Chima who was reading a book

"Yeah" he replied and as i turned around to leave, he stopped me

"Wait,what's your problem with Amanda Dozie?" He asked and to say I was shocked was an understatement

"How did you know about her?" I asked him

"Who doesn't know her and the fact that she's in your school"he replied like it was the most obvious thing on earth

"So how did you know about her problem?" I asked him,the level of my curiosity was heightened

"Well I have a friend in your school and his in ss3 tho but he knows everything going on in your class"My brother explained

"Well the girl behaves like an idiot, she thinks everyone is going to kiss her butt because her dad is rich" I explained

"You should be careful o" My brother warned and then my mum cane to the sitting room,she was wearing a yellow tee-shirt and her purple wrapper was tied around her waist

"What are you warning her about?" My mum inquired

"Your daughter here is fighting the daughter of the second richest man in Nigeria"my brother said and my mum turned to look at me

"Mr Dozie Ani" My brother completed and I could see the change of expression on my mum's face

"Stay away from that family Veronica, stay off their path,be warned"my mum said coldly and walked away, her slippers slapping the cold floor

Dad was home and he made us watch news and then we saw Aliko Dangote on Tv,he was opening a new cement factory at Gabon

"I wish we had money like Dangote"Chima whispered to me and I chuckled lightly.

"If daddy was as rich as Dangote,my legs would not be touching the floor"I replied,it seemed my mum heard us with the look she threw at us

"Your father is as rich as Dangote" she said and I laughed

"Amen oh,I claim it" I said but she wasn't smiling

I called  Chisom after prayer that night,she sounded cheerful over the phone. Chisom later had a simple wedding and moved into her husband's house.

"I've missed you" she cooed and I laughed

"Are you enjoying your marriage?" I asked her,I didn't know what the short pause was for but she replied
"Yes,of course I am"

I had seen her husband before, he was tall with an ecru skin and an athletic build

"How is dad?" She asked, she still cared about her father obviously, for some reasons,age was the favourite child while I'm not despite being the last baby, well maybe it was because of my rebellious nature,I've done many things to my dad honestly.

"His fine" I replied and then continued " you know you didn't have to get married to please him right, you took it too far" I said

"I didn't do it to please him,I did it because its the right thing to do"she said in a cold dangerous voice and I knew she was getting angry.

"So getting married at 22 is the right thing?" I asked her

"Get out of my phone"she ordered
"How?"I ashed innocently

"Through the panel"she replied and I laughed when she cut the call,she was really funny. She had a cool character but she was  dangerous when angry, she rarely got angry though but when she does,she acts like a wounded lion. There was a day I threw  her phone inside water,she warned me not to touch the phone but my stubbornness wouldn't let me and she had purchased the phone recently, I didn't know how long she dealt with me but I knew I landed in the hospital,even Chima was no match for her when she's furious.
