028. ┊PIZZA EXPEDITION
❪ what does it look like? I'm taking you out for pizza. ❫

"Barty you are insane━━" Reyna whispered, frantically glancing back at her door for a couple of seconds to make sure her parents or Jasper wouldn't come in.

"Insane, yes," Barty smirked and gestured for the girl to hurry up. Reyna quickly grabbed a couple of clothes from her closet and went to the bathroom.

Once she returned the girl wore some muggle jeans, a jumper, and a leather jacket. Barty seemed surprised at the muggle clothing, seeing that she's in a Pureblood family.

"Where'd you get those?"

"Sirius."

"Of course you did." Barty rolled his eyes and they went out of the balcony to see a flying car.

Reyna obviously became speechless at the side of the second-generation Ford Mustang. The car looked new and clean.

"Being the son of a Ministry Official has its perks. Let's just hope father dearest doesn't find out." Barty Jr smirked and Reyna chuckled at his words.

The De Martel felt like she was breaking the rules for once in her life. Rebel against her parents because lately, the blonde felt like nothing mattered anymore now that her family is being broken into shards.

Not once did Reyna imagined to be in a position like this. Where she'd sneak out at night.

"Let's go." Reyna got inside the flying Mustang and Barty made his way to the wheel.

The night was cloudy so they weren't caught ( ━━ thankfully ) otherwise they would've gotten in trouble or worse, seen by muggles.

Barty and Reyna didn't care if they were off-key to the music they were having the time of their lives enjoying the scenery and drive throughout London.

She turned the radio down and glimpsed over at Barty lighting up a cigarette. The Crouch looked right back at her and offered one from the small box.

"Thank you," Reyna took the cigarette and lit it up using the muggle lighter. Sirius has shown her a couple of times last year. "Now mind telling me why you brought me in the middle of nowhere?"

"As you know..." Barty breathed out the smoke from the cigarette and struggled to think of the right words to say. He didn't want Reyna De Martel to hate him. That was the last thing he wanted. "Promise you won't hate me." the boy pleaded.

Reyna nodded her head, "I won't hate you...I will never do that Barty, you're my friend."

This made Barty feel better. Even though they became friends last year she's made an impact on his heart. He never felt so much since his mother left him.

"I got the mark."

Reyna's heart dropped at his words and swallowed harshly, "D━━Does it hurt?"

She wasn't going to yell at him?

"For a couple of days..." Barty explained. "I━━I did it because of my dad. I want revenge...and my friends are going down this path."

"No matter what, I'll always love you the same but why go down this path? This isn't the life I wish for you to have." Reyna asked sadly.

Barty licked his lips, tasting the smoke at the tip of his tongue. "I want to do greater things....something far greater than my father. I will show him."

"I don't like it, but I'll be there for you if you need me. That doesn't mean I approve of this whole following the 'Dark Lord' shit.

Deep down she knew that Barty made the wrong choice, he was just too angry to comprehend what he just had done.

"This is pizza?" Reyna eyed the weirdly shaped triangle topped with sauce, cheese and pepperoni.

"Yep, you eat it like this." Barty grabbed the pizza with his hands and took a bite. Reyna's button nose scrunched in astonishment and disgust. "Ew."

Barty chuckles and gestured to the pizza on the white paper plate, "C'mon' Princess just take a bite, you won't regret it."

The Veela sighed exasperatedly and picked up the pizza. She hesitantly took a bite and chewed. Barty learned a bit forward and watched Reyna intently to see how she'll react.

A smile crept on Reyna's face, "This tastes amazing!" Reyna laughed in disbelief and took another bite.

The Crouch happily grinned, "See I told you!"

The Pizza maker watched the two with a look of fondness, "You two seem like a great couple."

Both Barty and Reyna contorted in disgust and shook their heads frantically, "Oh no we're not together, just friends." Barty explained though there was a hint of sadness glimmering in his tone that the De Martel didn't notice.

He wholeheartedly knew Reyna loved Regulus Black. Who wouldn't? He was the opposite of him.

All Barty wanted was for the Veela to be happy even if it meant hurting himself in the process
