Origin Story
Quirkless.
That's all it takes to wreck a person's life.
That was the case for Izumi Midoriya.
The doctor's confirmation was 2 months ago.
Izumi was now hiding from Katsuki after she spotted him and his two cronies heading her way.
She hid in an alleyway, and then saw stairs heading down.
Opening the door there, she finds herself in a shop of sorts. Looking around, there were birds, cats, lizards, and other pets.
"Is this a pet shop?" Izumi asked herself as she noticed a little paw on her foot.
A bunny looked her in curiosity.
"Hello, nice to meet you." Izumi said kneeling to the bunny to pet them. Which the bunny happily accepted.
"Greetings." A man's voice said.
Izumi turned to see a Chinese man withshort black hair and claw-like fingernails. He also had feminine facial features and what drew her attention was his eyes. One was purple while the other was a striking gold.
"Greetings little one. I am Count D. What brings you here to my humble pet shop?"
"I was hiding......from Ka-from bullies." Izumi said hugging the bunny near her.
"Bullies? Why not tell your teachers?" A girl with curly blond hair and a Victorian inspired dress said hugging Izumi from behind.
"Ah! Um, they ignore my protests. I'm quirkless so..." Izumi said sadly.
"Ah, quirks. It's pathetic how humans let power decide their lives these days. And its that kind of thinking, along with how the so-called hero system is going, that leads them to an early death." Count said as he kneels in front on Izumi. "Honestly, I believe you could have more worth than they do."
"I agree." A female voice said.
An Egyptian woman dressed in a Regal silk dress appeared. She had cat ears, a tail and claws.
"If I could, I would tear apart those inferior humans for harming such a jewel." She said patting Izumi's head.
"Why don't we have a chat over tea? I also have a chocolate cream pie ready." Count suggested.
During the chat, Izumi learned something interesting.
She saw that the other "people" in the shop were really pets.
The Egyptian woman, Mau-Chan, was really a sphinx, and Pon-chan was a raccoon.
Amazed, Count figured Izumi had untapped magic within her.
------------
Sadly, Izumi had to get back home and it was getting late.
Thankfully, Count was offering to get her back safely.
-------------
"Izumi! Where were you? I got worried when Kaachan said you vanished." Inko said as she hugged her daughter.
"Ka-Bakugou chased me again. I made friends with Count here."
"Yes, she stumbled into my pet shop after her fright. She was no trouble at all. In fact the animals in the shop like her too." Count said with a smile.
"Oh, I see." Inko said as she noticed Izumi did not call her friend 'Kacchan' now. Maybe she should have a talk with Mitsuki.
"Mama, can I keep visiting Count's pet shop? I can even help him." Izumi begged.
"I don't mind at all. In fact, the animals took a shine to her." Count added.
"Well, alright. As long as you can keep up with your studies." Inko smiled.
Izumi was happy. She finally had a real friend and many more.
-------------
A year passed since Izumi met Count.
While her peers would still attempt to belittle her for her lack of a quirk, she paid them no mind.
Now summer break has officially started for her and she got permission from her mom to have a sleepover at Count's.
But this day would be a little different.
While she was organizing some books with Count, she came across a pink book branded with the name "SAKURA." A small crescent moon to the right and a small star to the left can also be seen on the front, with a winged star emblem sits just beneath the "SAKURA" banner.
'What is this? It looks so pretty.'
She then used a key that she found with the book to open it up.
That's when she felt something strange making a huge gust of wind.
Then out of nowhere, a teddy bear? Plushie appeared from the book.
"Huh?! What?!" Izumi said.
"Wha? Did the cards blow away?! Aw man, this is like last time. I wonder if Clow intended for thing like this to happen..." it said then it noticed Izumi.
"Oh? The book selected a younger one this time.
My name is Keroberos, and I am the Beast of the Seal,” he--Keroberos--stated proudly, if the paw on his chest said anything.
"I-im Izumi Midoriya. What do you mean by selecting?"
"Well, simply put. This is a one-of-a-kind magic Cardcaptor book, it contains, or did contain magic cards with various abilities.
It also hasn't been opened for a long time. Only someone the book selects can open it. In other words Izu, you've been chosen to be the new Cardcaptor! Once you hunt down and collect the other cards that is." Kero stated proudly.
"Wait, does......does this mean I have a quirk?!" Izumiko asked in excitement.
"A quirk?" Kero asked.
Izumi then explained what happened in the world, and Kero kinda frowned.
"So they arrest people for vigilatism now? Stupid. This never happened in my time because back then when only a select few had powers, there were evils the police can't fight. And people supported and cheered on those that protected and helped them." Kero laments.
"So, what do I do now?" Izumi asked.
"Ah right. Originally, Clow Reed, the guy who first made these cards, created 53 original cards. And when the previous master, Sakura had them, she then unknowingly made 34 Clear Cards from her expanding powers. Then she created 75 new cards before they were sealed away again, making a total of 162." Kero explained as Izuko gained a look of shock.
'That's a lot of cards for me to find!' She thought.
Then Kero looked at the book. "Like last time with Sakura, some cards have chosen to stay here. Look."
There were at least 10 cards remaining.
Jump, Glow, Tame, Invisable, Elegance, Bell, Repair, Crystal, Illusion, and Action.
Then she heard there was an unusual downpour over the city.
"Whoa! Three cards have gone active already!" Kero said.
Going to the park, Izumi and Kero saw something through the rain. And it was hard for heroes to get around. Even for villains.
Then Izumi spotted a person on a cloud. They were in a jester outfit in blue accompanied by two other figures. One looked to be a bird composed of water while the other was a woman whose hair covered her whole body and her hair had drops of dew in it.
"Rain, Aqua, and Mist. Good thing you have Tame and Bell. They can help!" Kero said.
"Alright. Key of the Star,
With powers burning bright,
Reveal the staff, and shine your light!
Release!" As Izumi's key became the Star Staff, she released Tame and Bell to calm down the three water spirits.
"Alright! Forces from the Era of Old, Return to the form that you were meant to be in!
Sakura CARD!"
At that, the three water spirits were back in card form.
At was also at this time the huge downpour suddenly stopped. But Izumi and Kero quickly left before anyone could figure out what was going on.
Thankfully, Count was there to help them get away.
--------------
"Ah, so you found the book Sakura gave to me to look over." He smiled as they were having tea.
"Yeah, why are you happy about it?" Izumi asked.
"It has been over 250 years since this book was last used, but I never felt it respond to one so young. However, the fact you opened it without a problem means you have magic, not a quirk. Humans can never detect the former. And it apparently chose you. You just need to prove yourself worthy of the Cards." Count D said.
"We'll even help you. We can keep those brainless humans from arresting you with a couple glamors." A kitsune woman smiled as Izumi did as she pet Kero.
------------
The mysterious downpour came and went as the authorities and Pros were baffled. They did not find anything related to a quirk, although some people thought a kid just got a quirk related to the weather.
Unknown to the town, this was the beginning of a new Cardcaptor.
