Chapter 20 - he need some milk

Mentions of blood and semi-illegal activity

By all accounts, Izuku would not be seeing this display if he stayed home. He would not be seeing this if he had decided to not visit Shinso. In all honesty, they both wouldn't be having this conversation if they both lived normal mid-class family lives. Regardless, this was happening.
Izuku opened Shinso's bedroom door to see him crawling through the window clutching his side which seemed to be darkening with blood.
He appeared to be wearing a grey beanie, black hoodie, athletic pants, and footwear along with a surgical mask and gloves. The only bits of skin visable where his ears, around his eyes, and the rip along the boy's side detailing his injury.
"What happened to you?!" Izuku shouted.
Shinso gave him a supposedly tired look before completely collapsing. Izuku rushed over before he could hit the floor. "Woah, big guy."
Shinso gave a pained huff and Izuku looked him up and down. "Okay. Let's get you patched up."
Izuku maneuvered Shinso to the floor and pulled up his hoodie and the shirt beneath it. He gave a poorly hidden wince at the wound. He had a slice in his side.
"Okay. Thankfully, it isn't deep." He stood up and rushed to the bathroom to grab the first aid kit. When he got back, Shinso was trying to sit up. Izuku pushed him back down. "You need to stay still."
"You don't need to do this. I-" Shinso started to protest.
Izuku glared at him. "Shut up." Shinso obeyed. "Okay. This is going to hurt." Shinso nodded and tried to stay still.
Izuku rummaged around in the box and pulled out the disinfectant spray, the Quikseal healing cream, and the Stitch Stickers. He had Shinso brace before using the spray and the cream and quickly stuck and tightened the stickers before letting out a deep breath.
He leaned back against the bed and tilted his head towards Shinso, who was still laying on the floor. "Care to notify me before you do that again?"
"Sorry. Didn't know you'd be here."
"Are you going to tell me what happened?"
Shinso let out a sigh. "I was walking back home from work when I heard a skuffle coming from an alleyway. It was a mugging. The guy had a knife. I stepped in before he could stab the other guy. He ended up knicking me before I grabbed hold and sent him to the police station."
"Does stuff like this happen often?" Izuku asked gesturing to Shinso's wound.
"Not very often. No."
They sat in silence for a while. Eventually, Izuku sat up. "I'm going to grab you some pain killers. Stay here."
"Alright."
Izuku had to dig for the medication. When he came back, Shinso was still on the floor, very much awake. He handed the pills to Shinso and started cleaning up the mess he made.
"I think we both need a break. Don't you?" He asked to the floor-ridden boy next to him.
"Yeah"
Izuku grabbed the pillows and blankets off of the bed and made both of the comfy. He grabbed his phone out of his pocket and plugged it into the extension cord peaking through the door. Then, he threw the phone onto Shinso's lap.
"Pick something to watch."
"Oh, um....ok"
They ended up watching the first Captain America movie.
----
"I thought you would be more mad."
"Oh, believe me, I am, but I care about you more."
"Oh..."
----
"Since we aren't going to be clearing the beach tomorrow, or today, do you want to come to the dance studio?"
"Sure."
----
"HOW ARE YOU SO FLEXIBLE!!" Shinso yelled from the mat next to Izuku. Izuku chuckled and moved to the next stretch.
"Maybe if you added more stretches to your workout it wouldn't hurt so bad."
Shinso grumbled the rest of the stretch period. When the group stretch was done, Shinso went to sit on a bench to the side.
"Ok class, today is presentation! We've been working on this choreography for two weeks, let's see what you got!" Izuku's dance instructor, Mrs. Theresa, said. She looked at her clipboard before continuing. "Can I have Lila and Izuku, please?"
Izuku stood up from next to Shinso, who started to obnoxiously cheering. "You got this!"
"I know!" Izuku shouted back from across the room. He turned to Mrs. Theresa for his instruction.
"We'll be doing the partnered choreography first. Is it okay if I record for the studio's Mirutube?
"Sure." Izuku said.
"I'm fine with it." Lila said. Lila in all senses was normal until she revealed her quirk, ribbon. She could grow and control iridescent ribbons from her skin. Upon seeing it, Izuku asked her if she was a relative of Best Jeanist, as a whim, to which she replied yes. This only caused Izuku to ask more questions. They had grown close as dance partners and friends along with the rest of the class.
"Ok! I'm going to set up the camera and music, then you can start, okay?"
"Ok!" They both responded. Lila turned to Izuku. "Are you going to introduce me to your boyfriend anytime soon?
"Wha?-" Izuku sputtered. "He's not my boyfriend!"
"Mhm. Sure..."
"He really isn't."
It was at this point the music tests started.
"Okay, but you have to introduce me later."
"Okay. When the music starts, you know what to do." Mrs. Theresa said. Stepping away from the camera.
Both of them got into place and the first notes started playing. They moved.
Ever since Izuku started dance, he found that he enjoyed it immensely. The freedom to express emotion through dramatic body movements was so much easier than trying to free them through words. Songs like this one were one of the ones where he could let out mass amounts of sass without being judged or feeling awkward. Doing the dance with a partner who had just as much enthusiasm was even better.
By the time they were finished with the dance, Izuku was slightly short of breath and loving it. The moment the song ended, he dragged Lila over to where Shinso was sitting. Shinso had Izuku's water bottle ready and he handed it to him.
"Who's this?" Shinso asked, looking at Lila with curiosity. She was staring at him with a very wide smirk and crossed arms.
"Shinso, Lila. Lila, Shinso." Izuku said.
"Nice to meet you, Shinso," Lila said. She turned to Izuku. "Your solo presentation is next right?"
"Oh! Yeah!" Izuku said before heading to Mrs. Theresa.
"You're gonna want to watch this." Lila said as she sat down next to Shinso. "He's spent a long time perfecting it."
Izuku got himself set up in their corner, started the music,...
...and had fun.
Shinso was in awe. It was easy to see why. Izuku moved with such power and precision that it was hard to believe it was the same shy, anxious boy he knew. The skill level was also impressive for the amount of time they spent here. Shinso himself was still in the beginners class learning the basics while Izuku took to dance like a moth to a flame.
"You're drooling." Lila whispered in Shinso's ear.
"I am not!" Shinso said pushing her away.
"Mhm. Right. Your secret is safe with me."
Shinso just looked at her like she was delusional.
"You'll get it soon."
Shinso just shook his head in amusement and confusion.
