It was 2012 and at Fury, Coulson and Agent Maria Hill were at a S.H.I.E.L.D facility where the Tesseract was being held and observed by Dr Erik Selvig and and his team of scientists. Fury had been summoned due to the Tesseract acting erratically in recent times with Doctor Selvig unable to shut down the energy forcing Coulson's hand and ordering an evacuation.

Coulson was sent by Director Fury to oversee and aid the evacuation of the facility. Meanwhile Hill who was skeptical of evacuation and made her feelings known to her boss but yet he was adamant that it was right call before she was reluctantly sent also to aid the evacuation.

Nick entered the radiation facility that the Tesseract was being held in where Doctor Selvig and his team were continuing to observe the blue energy source.

Barton came down from his 'nest' as Dr Selvig coined it and stood next to Fury "Barton have you seen anything that might set this thing off?" He queried the skilled agent.

Barton shook his head "No one's come or gone. It's oven is clean. No contacts, no I.M.'s. If there was any tampering, sir, it wasn't at this end." .

Fury narrowed as his eye at Barton with curiousity "At this end?" He said slowly

Clint was slightly confused by Fury's reaction "Yeah, the cube is a doorway to the other end of space, right? The doors open from both sides." Clint said as if it was obvious.

Dr. Erik Selvig typed on his keyboard and the monitor flashes. Suddenly, the Tesseract thunders and shakes the entire facility. Both Agent Coulson nearby, and Maria Hill topside, feel the tremors.

The cube then glows brighter and emits a circle of light and forms a thin beam. The power hits the edge of a platform, and begins to form a vortex, which becomes a portal. Space appears through the portal, and a gust of blue energy knocks people back.

The cloud shoots to the ceiling, and the portal on the platform opens up as Loki steps through. The portal vanishes, as the room becomes darker thanks to the lights being taken out and Loki grins at everyone, holding his spear. He frowns as he sees them looking at him.

Fury pleads with Loki "Sir please put down the spear."

Loki however smirks and responds by firing a blast of blue energy from his spear, while Agent Barton narrowly tackles Fury out of the way. Everyone shoots at Loki, but the bullets deflect off of him. Loki immediately takes down everyone shooting at him easily, with knives and energy blasts from his sceptre.

He pauses, grinning, and looks to who will attack him next. Barton attempts to attack him, but Loki grabs his wrist, disarming him.

He applauds Clint's efforts to take him on "You have heart" Loki gently presses the point of the spear against Barton's chest causing his eyes to turn black before reverting back to their normal look with Loki casting him under some kind of spell and Barton stops trying to attack the Asgardian.

Loki casts Selvig under a similar spell before he attacks Fury and takes the Tesseract with them.

Loki, Barton and Selvig get topside with Barton managing to convince an unknowing Hill to give him a truck which she complies with despite not recognising Loki

Just as they are about to take off, Hill's radio goes off and Fury's on the other end "Barton is...." He says weakly, Hill soon realises the situation and starts shooting at the truck that has Loki, Barton and Selvig in. With Barton driving away before anyone gets hit.

Fury makes a frantic effort to make his way out of the rapidly fracturing facility whilst holding his side in pain "They've got the Tesseract Hill, track it down"

Hill hauls ass into a S.H.I.E.L.D vehicle and pursues the trio with the Tesseract.

Whilst all this is going on Fury manages to get to a helicopter and escape the facility before catastrophe occurs. Coulson on the other hand is in a large truck along with other agents driving to safety.

After the Tesseract cloud causes an implosion, it destroys the tunnel that Hill was in trapping her inside under the rubble forcibly halting her pursuit of the Tesseract.

As the escaping trio leave the tunnel, they see Fury's helicopter waiting for them as the S.H.I.E.L.D Director starts firing at them however Loki aims his spear at the helicopter and an energy blast takes down the helicopter.

Fury manages to jump to the ground before it crashes avoiding any serious injury to himself however as he gets to his feet he sees the truck that the assailants are in speeding away.

Fury pulls out his walkie-talkie as Coulson is on the other end "Director Fury, do you copy?"

Fury cuts the bullshit and gets straight to the point "The Tesseract is with the hostile force. We have men down. Hill?" He asks Maria wanting a situation report.

Hill climbs out of the Jeep covered in cuts and bruises but other than that no worse for wear "I got several men under" she looks around at the rubble "Don't know how many survivors" she regretfully reports.

Fury informs Hill of their next move "Sound the general call. I want every living soul not working rescue looking for the Tesseract."

Hill plainly responds "Roger that"

Fury looks around at the helicopter wreckage "Coulson get back to base. This is a Level Seven. As of right now, we are at war." He announces in a quietly dramatic tone to completely highlight how serious the situation at hand truly is.

Coulson with a worried look on his face "What do we do now?"

Fury thinks about this for a few seconds, this was the first time that something on this sort of global scale had occurred before coming up with a dignified response "It's time to get the band together............. And I know just the man suited for this type of situation."

Four days later

Y/N was currently in his house in Dublin, Ireland now it was the middle of Spring so it was naturally a beautiful sunny day outside but instead of enjoying the lovely weather Y/N was playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox 360. He was in a multiplayer lobby and more specifically playing Free for All on the map - Dome. He was currently at 28 kills with the target being thirty, his nearest rival being on 25.

Y/N had just died at a crucial point in the game after getting killed by a camping prick "Come on Y/N, how can you can to call yourself the Greatest Mercenary to ever live when you can't even win a fucking game of Free for All." Venom groaned even though he tried to be encouraging but wasn't doing a very good job at it.

Y/N who was in a full on concentration mode even more so than when he's working "Well on this game you can die. Us on the other hand cannot. Now let me fuck up these shitheads up." As he killed another player taking him one away from victory.

"Top left! TOP LEFT" The symbiote yelled orders to Y/N who had managed to get quickscope headshot for the win.

"WHOO!........ Nice call out by the way" Y/N celebrated as he thanked Venom leaving a closed fist for Venom who grew a limb out of Y/N's side to return the fist bump.

Right after the Free for All COD victory, Y/N heard a knocking at his front door. Y/N dropped his controller onto the sofa and jogged lightly to the door saying in falsetto "COMING!"

He opened the door to see none other than his close friend Nick Fury standing outside in all black clothes covered by full length black trench coat "Y/N, how are you my friend?" Nick happily greeted him with a handshake. It was safe to say Nick had become far more adept to Y/N's overly eccentric personality over the years so was far more cheery when he did see his old friend.

"Nicholas Fury this surprise, please come in" Y/N invited Nick in as he stood out of his way to let the one eyed Director of S.H.I.E.L.D inside shutting the door behind him.

"How's Venom?" Nick asked as Y/N guided Nick into the living room as Y/N quickly shut off his TV and Xbox before they both sat on the three seater sofa.

Venom pops out of Y/N's shoulder causing Nick to jump slightly "I'm excellent Nick good to see you"

"Yeah good to see you to Venom" He smiled before sighing quietly and chuckling to himself as he made himself comfortable on the sofa turning to face Y/N and Venom "Even after all these years, that still freaks me out a bit"

"Ehhh it's a compliment that I still freak you out" Venom responds deciding to stay out of Y/N's shoulder so Nick could speak to them both.

Y/N knowing Nick too well thought there was an ulterior motive for his surprise visit "So what's the situation, one eyed Willie?" Y/N asked as he crossed his arms and crossing his left leg over his right one.

Nick ignored the nickname Y/N had called him many times over the years and cut straight to the chase "We have a problem and when I say a problem I'm talking about a colossal sized one." Nick emphasised this point by making his arms wide.

Y/N rubbed his hands together rapidly in anticipation "This sounds like something that interests me." Y/N stated as Venom nodded "So who am I going to fuck up?"

"Well..." Nick pulled a thick and quite frankly worn out A4 folder out of his trench coat pocket.

"Still got those mythical pockets of yours?" Y/N joked as Fury smiled handing Y/N the folder who opened it with Venom looking at it intently over his shoulder as well.

"Yes, they're very practical" Nick joked back before reverting his attention back to the current predicament, Y/N saw a picture of a man in Green and gold robes.

Y/N's pupils dilated in interest "And who is this ridiculously handsome fella....... Fuuuck me he's almost as pretty as Y/N L/N"

"Please stop" Venom requested fairly politely but was met with a shake of the head from Y/N.

"No way! I've just found my new male crush" Y/N enthusiastically stated as he examined the picture of the man further.

"You don't have to drool over him" Venom said to the mesmerised Y/N who didn't take any notice "Why do I bother with you sometimes" he asked out loud to himself.

Nick had an awkward look on his face "Y/N I hate to burst your bubble but....... that's Loki the man who's threatening to destroy the planet"

Y/N's face dropped slightly as Venom started chuckling at Y/N's misfortune before Y/N came up with the best response he could "I mean we pretty ones are always getting into trouble" Y/N gestured to himself

"Hey what about me!?" Venom yelled clearly looking offended that Y/N didn't include him as well.

Y/N snorted "Yeah try looking in a mirror without it cracking then come back to me" he sarcastically replied but was met with a slight whack on the back of his head from the symbiote.

Whilst Y/N rubbed the back of his head ready for Nick to continue, the S.H.I.E.L.D Director shook his "Anyways Loki has this" he turned Y/N to the page on the to reveal a blue glowing cube "The Tesseract"

Nick continued his explanation "It has the potential energy to wipe out the planet."

Y/N put his hand up to stop Nick who promptly stopped speaking "Nick these big science words mean jack shit to me, my science knowledge is limited to all the series of Star Trek with the guy that looks like Professor X"

"Who?" Nick exclaimed

Y/N and Venom looked at each other as Y/N said "Wrong universe"

Nick just chose to ignore Y/N when he does this type of thing "Anyways remember all those years ago after you two fought Carnage---"

"Yes, you wanted us to join The Avengers Initiative" Venom finished Nick's sentence for him.

Nick clicked his fingers at the Symbiote "That's right well it's time to suit up because right now The Avengers Initiative is active, we've already recruited most of them. They're on the Helicarrier out in the Atlantic"

"Wait, Wait, Wait....... How come I was last recruited, I'm surely the most qualified for this shit" Y/N argued mockingly not really caring if he was being totally honest.

Nick responded with "Well obviously because you were the hardest to track down." He hoped that would satisfy Y/N's ego which it very well did "Anyways I'm sure you're well acquainted with some of them already."

Nick showed him a picture of a blonde man in similar styled attire to Loki "Thor, brother of Loki the God of Thunder"

"Yeah I read some Norse mythology when I was younger, I have some knowledge of Thor and Loki" Y/N explained much to Nick's surprise.

"I'd have never thought of you as being a bookworm" Nick teased but was met with a dead expression from Y/N and a chuckle from Venom who pushed Y/N's face with a tendril causing Y/N to tell him to fuck off.

"I'm not a 'bookworm' but I needed something to do other than killing back before TV" Y/N defended himself however seemingly not very well as Nick held a small smirk still.

Nick turned the page to the next member revealing it to be Y/N's old friend Bruce Banner "When was the last time you saw Doctor Banner?" Nick asked

"When I set him up with that place in Kolkata so it's been a few years but I speak to him fairly regularly" Y/N answered

"Surprisingly chill guy is Doctor Banner even though he's never met me" Venom added nodding his head in a small tempo as he spoke.

"He doesn't know about you!?" Nick was genuinely shocked about this.

"The only people who know about me are the people in this room" Venom informed Nick who was glad to know that the pair had entrusted him with this secret for all these years.

"And the people we fight but they're too dead to remember anything" Y/N added with a small prideful smirk.

Nick then looked at Venom and said "Given the situation, I reckon you're not going to be hidden for very much longer"

"I'm aware........ But it's fine I probably know more about this planet than most after bonding to this old fuck for nearly 25 years." Venom explained which Nick nodded to in understanding.

Y/N had an 'O' expression "I might be nearly 125 years old but I am looking pretty good for my age" Y/N leaned in towards Nick and whispered "The secret is a good skincare routine."

Nick huffed slightly before continuing onto the next member "Tony Stark aka Iron Man"

"Nick I'm not a hermit I know who Tony Fucking Stark is" Y/N passive aggressively said to Nick.

"Yeah well he's got a reputation for being a talker too so I'm sure you two will get on like a house on fire" Nick added

"Trust me no one has a bigger mouth than this guy" Venom used one of his razor sharp. Claws to point to Y/N who had a silly looking grin on his face.

"Unfortunately I don't doubt that" Nick said with a questionable tone.

"Captain Steve Rogers" Nick said turning the page to show Captain America.

"Holy shit Steve's alive!" Y/N exclaimed causing Venom to pull back slightly due to Y/N's excitement.

"You know him?" Fury questioned Y/N who nodded in response.

"Yeah I met Steve back in the thirties when he was a scrawny streak of piss - saved him from a bunch of muggers" Y/N replied before realising what he said and closed his eyes to reminisce "Fucking hell that was over seventy years ago" he quietly stated.

Nick nodded before turning to the final member "Natasha Romanoff someone I know you're well acquainted with" Y/N's eyes widened at the pretty face on the page.

"You should've just told me I'd be around her and I'd have been in" Y/N announced to Nick who just loudly groaned at Y/N's behaviour towards one of his best agents.

Nick did smile lightly knowing that Y/N would be in for a rude awakening around Natasha "You should know she doesn't like you very much after the incident in Prague"

Y/N scoffed at the memory "You break a few of her partner's ribs and give her some bruises then suddenly you're hated because of it." The memory caused another thought to come to both Y/N and Venom's minds. "What about Robin Hood, why isn't he a part of superhero camp?" Y/N laughed at Venom's mini quip.

Nick's face noticeably dropped "Loki has him enslaved currently"

Y/N made a disgusted face "Eww mind control so not cool" Y/N said with a rather sickly tone

Nick straight after heard his phone ring, he saw that it was Agent Coulson "Phil what have you got for me?"

"It's the Tesseract sir, we've picked up a gamma signature in Stuttgart with a sixty seven percent match" Coulson informed Fury who looked over at Y/N to see he was having a mini scrap with his symbiotic friend.

"What's happening now then?" Nick informed as he laid back on Y/N's sofa

"Banner has stayed on the Helicarrier whilst Romanoff and Rogers are taking the Quinjet over there, they left about an hour ago"

Nick also wanted to make sure that Coulson got his job done "Did you manage to get Stark?"

"Yes, he's informed me that he's on his way there too"

A genuine smile came across Nick's face "Excellent work, Coulson"

"And what of Deadpool?" Coulson tentatively asked his superior.

Nick once again looked to Y/N who did a fake yawn to indicate he was bored. "I'm sending him over now" this caught Y/N's interest who held an expression not to dissimilar from an excited child's.

"Shall I inform the others of his arrival?"

Nick held a small smile "No let's give Loki the element of surprise" Nick advised to Coulson who agreed with Nick before they each hung up the phone as Nick stood up from the couch.

"Y/N suit up you're heading to Stuttgart. Rogers, Romanoff and Stark will be there also you can hitch a ride to the Helicarrier with them" Nick ordered to Y/N who eagerly stood up from his sofa pocketing the Avengers Initiative file.

"Sir yes sir" Y/N did a mock salute as Nick went to leave Y/N stopped him by sliding across the floor to end up in front of him with a pissed off expression on his face "I swear to god Nick that Helicarrier better have---"

Nick knew what he was going to say so cut him off before he could finish his sentence "Chimichangas I know" before walking past Y/N out the door "Now both of you get your asses to Stuttgart.......... I'll see you on the Helicarrier." shutting the door behind him.

"Right get your Katanas and guns then we'll go" Venom instructed to Y/N who sprinted up the stairs to his bedroom to grab his necessary weapons.

Venom morphed Y/N's casual clothes into his Venompool suit as Y/N holstered his two swords and two guns before storming out of the door and swinging over to the docks by the Irish Sea.

"Ready?" Venom asked

"Always my slimeball of a friend" Y/N confirmed as he dived into the sea as Venompool sped off through the water like a missile with their destination in mind.
