[from Mark]
Shut it, tae. you did a good job. who cares if its cruel lol everything about this is cruel. now make sure someone from that house seems guilty.

[to Mark]
who?

[from Mark]
jungkook. just be mean to him, maybe he'll spit out more secrets which you can use against him. plus, if you rile him up he'll probably break up with you and you wont have to do it.

Taehyung sighed to himself and put the phone back in his pocket, walking towards Jungkook's room. Taehyung was in a good position right now. Dokeun pulled a stupid move and trusted Taehyung. Now Taehyung would spin that trust around and use it for his advantage.

Taehyung reached Jungkook's room and then realized Jungkook was crying inside. Taehyung remembered what just happened and opened the door slowly. Taehyung saw Jungkook sitting on the bed, tears pouring out of his doey brown eyes.

"T-Taehyung," Jungkook breathed out, and Taehyung felt something. Like a twist in his gut. He didn't know what it was. But it made him rush towards the boy.

Jungkook stood up and hugged him tightly, Taehyung hugging him back, patting his back. "Do-do you know who could've done this? I-it's so mean," Jungkook sobbed out, and Taehyung pulled back, wiping Jungkook's tears.

"I don't know, doll. But I'll find out. Don't you worry." Taehyung told him, and saw Jungkook nod and clutch onto his shirt.

"Thank you, Taehyung. I-I don't know what I'd do without you." Jungkook whispered, burrowing his nose in the nook of Taehyung's neck. Taehyung stilled but hugged him back.

The feeling in his gut worsened.

"That's alright." Taehyung said softly, and then Jungkook reached his head back, looking at Taehyung. Jungkook smiled a little, and then leaned forward, clasping their lips together.

Taehyung hummed into the kiss, gripping his waist tightly. Their lips moved against one another, and Jungkook whimpered into his lips, fingers trickling down his neck.

Suddenly, Taehyung's phone started ringing. Taehyung ignored it, pressing Jungkook against the edge of the bed. The boy pulled away, sighing softly.

"Your phone keeps ringing, Tae!" Jungkook whined, and Taehyung sighed and took his phone out.

It was Jackson.

Jungkook watched as Taehyung hesitantly looked at the phone screen for a bit, and then cut the call and placed his phone back in his pocket. Jungkook got a smile on his face, and Taehyung grabbed Jungkook by his thighs and lifted him onto the bed, climbing between his legs.

Jungkook wrapped his arms and legs around him, kissing him back softly. Taehyung kissed him with the same caliber, and then Jungkook pulled away to breathe, and Taehyung started kissing his cheek and down to his jaw.

Jungkook bit his lip, breathing heavily. "Tae I- wait-" Jungkook let out, and Taehyung pulled away. Jungkook looked up at him.

"What?" Taehyung asked.

"Your phone's ringing again. Who's calling?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung groaned, taking his phone out. It was Jackson again.

Taehyung got an annoyed look on his face and then cut the call and chucked his phone to the other side of the bed, and returned to kissing Jungkook.

"A-are you sure it's not important?" Jungkook asked, giggling as Taehyung kissed his neck.

"Mmm.. don't care. Rather kiss you." Taehyung hummed, and Jungkook blushed, gripping onto his shoulders.

Taehyung rolled Jungkook over on his side and their kisses turned a little softer, more mushy, lasting a little longer. Jungkook pulled away after a bit, and let out a surprised sound when Taehyung pulled him close, hugging him tightly.

Jungkook felt Taehyung burrow his head into Jungkook's neck, breathing in his scent, arms tightening around him. "Tae, what's wrong?" Jungkook asked, carding his fingers through his hair.

"Jungkook," Taehyung said, lifting his head up and looking at the younger boy, who blinked innocently. "I-I'm sorry." Taehyung whispered.

Jungkook giggled. "Sorry for what? Did you eat my chocolate tart again?" Jungkook asked, eyes growing big.

Jungkook watched as Taehyung let out a fond smile and shook his head. "No, baby. Your chocolate tart is fine. I just.. you don't deserve bad things happening to you." Taehyung whispered, and Jungkook hummed, resting his head on Taehyung's chest.

"Nothing bad is happening to me! Yeah, the dress thing brought back a lot of bad memories which I've suppressed for ages but.. I have you, Tae. I don't think anything bad can happen to me as long as I have you." Jungkook said, giving him a big smile.

Taehyung's heart crumbled a little, and he felt himself feeling tingles all over his body, his heart pacing rapidly. Taehyung nodded.

"Nothing bad will happen, dollie. Don't worry." Taehyung said, and Jungkook smiled, and kissed him firmly.

Taehyung's job assignment was simple.

Go to the Jeon mafia. Become one of their members there. Get information about their doings. And, most importantly, make the son of the mafia leader fall in love with you so he tells you everything.

Taehyung had just smirked and accepted the mission. He'd walked into the Jeon mansion and pretended like he was into Jungkook. Gave him attention and soon enough Jungkook was falling for him.

Easiest was when they went out to get Mark and Taehyung began kissing Jungkook. Later that night, Taehyung and Mark laughed about it and drank and talked about how easily Jungkook got fooled.

But now.. it was.. different. It was getting harder to keep lying to Jungkook, and he doesn't know why.

"What do you mean you 'can't' do it? Are you out of your mind?" Jackson snapped, and Taehyung rubbed his face in anguish.

"I'm just saying, it'll be easier if we just kill Dokeun off and get this whole thing over with." Taehyung said, and Jackson scoffed.

"That's not what my father wants, Taehyung. We want all the Jeons gone. Not just Dokeun. Plus, we can't end things so soon. You need to keep going. You need to keep getting information from Jungkook, and-"

"It's not that easy, okay?!" Taehyung snapped, looking up at Jackson and Mark. "He-he's not like his father! He's not like his brother! He's nothing like what you told me he was like! A-and this thing has dragged on for way too long." Taehyung said, and Jackson's eyes glinted with red.

"We asked you to do one fucking thing, Taehyung. You wanted to do this! You wanted to get revenge on them, didn't you? What changed?!" Jackson asked angrily, and Mark watched as Taehyung looked weary, not having words to explain it.

"I-I don't know. It just- it feels wrong," Taehyung let out, and Jackson snickered, clenching his fist as to not get too angry.

"Did it feel wrong when Dokeun shot your parents? Did it feel wrong when you promised us you would kill the last remaining part of that family?" Jackson shouted, and Taehyung looked.. weak.

"It-it wasn't, Jackson! But you have to listen to me- they're like us. It's just Dokeun, I-"

"No it's not! They're not like us, Taehyung. They're smart asses who think they're better than us because they have more resources and-"

"Jackson," Mark said, quietning him down.

Mark always had a way with him. Taehyung watched over the years, Jackson always lashed out and yelled at people, but Mark was the only one who could properly calm him down.

"Let me talk to him." Mark said softly, and Jackson pursed his lips but nodded, giving Taehyung one last look before walking out of the room.

Mark waited until Jackson left, and then walked over to Taehyung and sat down beside him on the couch. "Taehyung, what's the first role of missions like these?" Mark asked, voice calm.

Taehyung snickered. "To not get emotionally attached. But believe me, Mark, I'm not getting emotionally-"

"Taehyung." Mark stopped him, and Taehyung looked at him with a disguised look in his eyes. All hope was lost. Taehyung knew he'd caved in. But he didn't want to admit it to himself.

"This boy.. Jungkook, tell me about him. Not what you tell the others. Tell me what you really think about him." Mark said, and Taehyung's foot was tapping restlessly against the floorboard, fingers jittering.

"He-he's not like his father. His father is cruel. Merciless. Disgusting. Never seen a smile on that man's face. A real smile. Only coy smirks and sick glances. He makes Jackson's father look like a Saint." Taehyung snickered, and then Mark saw Taehyung look a little lost for words, looking int the distance.

"Jungkook is.. Jungkook is sweet. He's 18. He's got this childlike innocence to him. H-he's not at all like what you described him as, Mark. You told me he was ruthless and a little dumb. He-he isn't ruthless. He's.. just barely getting by. All he wants to do is please everyone and make sure everyone's happy, even if he isn't. He does the smallest things for me to make me smile, l-like the one time I told him I liked ham and cheese sandwiches. He makes them for me every time I'm hungry." Taehyung chuckled, and then looked down at his hands.

Mark noticed that Taehyung had calmed down more, not moving. "He's so lovely, Mark. He-he likes Disney movies and always keep talking about the-the stupid Rapunzel one." Taehyung said, a small smile on his face. "He always cuddles me so tightly when he sleeps and-and dammit, Mark, he doesn't deserve the place he's in. His family, he doesn't deserve that. This life isn't meant for him. He was meant to be a-a baker, or a pre-school teacher or something. Not the son of the biggest Mafia gang leader."

"Sometimes, he-he just sits on my lap and tells me about books he read and then hugs me tightly and asks me about my life. He wants to know so much about me, yet I can only tell him some of it. He cries very easily. It was a little annoying, but- n-now I can't help but hold him tightly every time he cries. I-I-I don't know what's wrong with me, Mark. I'm not supposed to feel this way. It-it's so hard- the boys are so rude to him sometimes, and every time they yell at him or tell him to go away- h-he just nods and does so. And-and he's got so much trust in me, Mark. He loves me, he told me so. He's just- he's beautiful. And I feel terrible."

Taehyung stooped after his big speech, and took a deep breath, exhaling sharply. He gulped, not realizing all those words that he's been keeping inside him for the past few weeks just poured out. Taehyung fearfully turned to Mark, who had a look on his face.

"I-I'm sorry." Taehyung said, but then saw Mark's eyes soften. Mark placed his arm around Taehyung, squeezing his shoulder.

"Don't be sorry. It's not your fault. I don't blame you for falling for someone. If Jungkook is truly like how you described him.. then I'm sorry for making you hurt him, Taehyung." Mark said, and Taehyung's eyes glittered as he looked at him.

"I'm not falling for him, Mark. I can't. It'll ruin the whole mission." Taehyung choked out, and Mark pressed his lips together in a sad smile.

"It will. And I hate to tell you this, Taehyung. But we can't keep going if you're getting feelings for him. As much as I trust you, I'm afraid you'll do something wrong. We need to get this finished with. So you need to get Jungkook here by tomorrow so we can do what he need to." Mark said, standing up.

"You'll hurt him?" Taehyung asked, and Mark sighed.

"No." A voice came, and Taehyung and Mark turned their heads towards the door. Taehyung's eyes widened when he saw Jackson.

"Jackson- did-did you hear-"

"Yeah. I did. You speak really loudly, geez." Jackson snickered. "And no. We won't hurt him. Because you're like my little brother and for some reason you care about him- so we won't hurt him. But that doesn't mean we won't get answers out of him somehow."

Jackson said, and Taehyung smiled, standing up as well.

"Thanks. But don't worry. I can stop caring about him for my job. I just needed to get all that out." Taehyung explained, and Mark snickered and nodded.
