┌NINE┐

Jungkook walked out of his room, hearing some noises from the hallway. He saw Taehyung and Jimin, both talking quietly to each other. Jungkook was going to go up to them, when he saw Taehyung lean in a bit to whisper something into his ear, even place his hand on the boy's waist.
Jungkook felt his eyebrows furrow a little, seeing Jimin's eyes widen a little, like he was surprised by what Taehyung said.
"Really?" Jimin said softly, and Jungkook saw Taehyung nod.
Jungkook moved ever so slightly and the door behind him shut loudly, making both the boys turn to him.
"Hi." Jungkook said in a small voice, trying to pretend like he wasn't listening into their conversation.
Jimin cleared his throat. "I'm gonna go rest for a bit." Jimin said, and then reached for his door.
"Cool, see you tonight!" Taehyung said, patting Jimin's lower back before walking towards Jungkook.
"What's tonight?" Jungkook asked.
"Just a little bust. Guys from some local gang think they can fuck with our cartel. Just gonna go scare 'em." Taehyung said, and Jungkook nodded.
"Cool! Who's going?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung turned to Jungkook slowly.
"Oh.. y'know. Me... and Jimin... and Hoseok. Yoongi. Namjoon. All of us." Taehyung mumbled, and Jungkook pursed his lips.
"Oh.. ugh. It's so annoying. I feel like I can help too, but they never believe me when I tell them! If I try to say anything, they get mad at me. Can't you say something?" Jungkook asked, and Taehyung cocked his eyebrow.
"Me? That-that won't go well. I doubt they'll even listen." Taehyung snickered, and continued trying to walk towards his room, but Jungkook followed, trying to walk along with him.
"They will! They see you as an adult so they'll actually, like, consider your opinion. Please, Tae? Just suggest it-"
"Kook, maybe they're right." Taehyung snapped, turning around to face Jungkook.
Jungkook stilled, and then tilted his head a little. "What?"
"I mean.. just listen to them. They have a point. You're not that well trained with using guns and stuff, nor do you know anything about drugs and weapons and stuff." Taehyung continued, and Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed.
Taehyung looked like he was a little annoyed, and stressed, leaning against his closed door. Jungkook blinked. "I-I do, I just-"
"Jungkook, let's be honest. You're a kid. They just don't want to hurt you." Taehyung said slowly, and Jungkook looked away, not understanding why Taehyung was suddenly saying this.
"You'll be safer if you stay here. Just- read a book or something, okay Kookie?" Taehyung said, his eyes a little big, and Jungkook saw his look and he realized.
The same look Namjoon gives him, and Jin, and Yoongi, and Hoseok. The same fucking look, which showed how they thought he was still a toddler who couldn't take care of himself, and was still a baby who needed his diaper changed.
"Why are you talking like that?" Jungkook asked in a small voice, and Taehyung looked a little tense, but then chuckled.
"Kook, I'm talking normally. I don't think you understand it's a bad world out there for little boys like you," Taehyung said, patting his cheek affectionately, like the other boys did.
"Little boy? Are-are you serious, Tae? I literally talked to you about this-"
"Jungkook," Taehyung snapped, and Jungkook looked at him with wide eyes. "How about you stop annoying me and go to your room, does that sound okay for you?"
Jungkook's breath hitched, shoulders dropping. "Y-yes. Sorry." Jungkook squeaked out, turning around and heading to his bedroom, his feet carrying him faster.
Fucking hell. For once- Jungkook thought that maybe, just maybe someone would treat him like he wasn't a kid. Clearly not. Soon enough, Jimin's going to start talking to him like he's a kid too. Jungkook's never going to grow out of it.

Later that night, around 2 am, Jungkook was in his bedroom when he heard loud noises coming from downstairs. Like, laughter.
Jungkook walked out of his bedroom, his feet padding through the marbled floors. He leaned against the stairwell and looked downstairs, and saw the five boys walking through the front door, all in the foyer, laughing.
They had guns slung around them, and he's pretty sure he saw a bit of blood on Yoongi's face. Jimin was laughing really loudly, and Taehyung had his arm slung around his shoulder, also laughing.
"Oh my god- I still can't get over the look on that guy's face!" Hoseok said, practically falling on the floor with how hard he was laughing.
"And-and then when he started crying-" Namjoon said, but he couldn't finish his sentence because he started laughing, and Yoongi did fall on the floor, clutching his stomach from laughing so hard.
Jungkook felt a pang of envy in his stomach, wishing he could know what they were talking about, or be with them. Jungkook let his feet carry him down the stairs and to the foyer, where the boys were.
"Hey, how was your bust?" Jungkook asked, and Jimin walked over to him and leaned his hand on his shoulder, trying to control his laughs.
"It- oh my g-god- it was so fucking funny, Kook- holy shit. So, we-we reached this gang place, and get this, they're listening to Katy fucking Perry-" Jimin starts, and then Namjoon grabbed Jungkook's shoulder, yanking him to the side.
"What time is it, Kook?" Namjoon asked, and Jungkook turned to him.
"2 AM." Jungkook stammered, and saw Namjoon give him a stern look, which made his insides churn.
"You should be asleep, Kook. It's way past your bedtime." Yoongi said from the side, and Jungkook's cheeks turned pink.
"I-I don't need a bedtime! You guys sleep at, like, the crack of dawn," Jungkook said, and couldn't help but still hear Jimin and Taehyung giggling to each other in the corner.
"There's a difference, pet. You're-"
"I know! I'm a fucking kid! You've said it a thousand fucking times!" Jungkook snapped, Yoongi's eyes widening because Jungkook swore at him.
He saw Hoseok raise his eyebrows and saw Jimin and Taehyung also quieten down and look at him with widened eyes. Everyone was silent for a bit, and Jungkook suddenly felt a pit in his stomach, like something bad was coming.
"I-I meant- I just-" Jungkook started.
"Jungkook." Namjoon snapped sternly, his voice lower, already scaring Jungkook to core. "Don't overstep boundaries. You are going to apologize, shut up, and go to your bedroom. Is that clear?" Namjoon growled, and Jungkook looked to the side, not wanting to meet Namjoon's eyes.
"I-"
"I said is that fucking clear?" Namjoon yelled, and Jungkook flinched at his words, stepping back slightly. He saw the rage in Namjoon's eyes and nodded hastily.
"Y-yes. Sorry." Jungkook let out, and then turned around and rushed up the stairs, eyes welling up with tears.
"Poor baby," Jungkook heard Yoongi's voice laugh, and then some more of the boys snicker.
Jungkook felt his hand tighten around the handle of his door, teardrops falling from his eyes. Jungkook quickly wiped them from the back of his hand, and then left the door handle.
Jungkook turned around and then walked to the other side of the hallway, which was a long wide hallway with only one door in the end. It was dim light, and the lights hung on the top of the wall cast shadows to the sides of the walls.
Jungkook reached the wide oak door and knocked on it in a pattern. "Come in," He heard, and then opened the door slightly.
He saw his father still in his button up and trousers, sitting on his arm chair, a cigar in his hand, half empty glass of whiskey on the table beside him. It's the only way Jungkook's ever seen him, he's starting to wonder if he ever sleeps or doesn't drink whiskey.
"What do you want, Jungkook?" His father asked, same tone of annoyance everyone had while speaking to him.
Jungkook tentatively walked over to him, seeing him scribe some words into some leather bound journal with an ink pen, glasses perched on his nose.
"Father, I-I-"
"Speak without stuttering."
Jungkook nodded, taking a deep breath. "I want to take more part in the missions and assignments all the boys get."
His father barely looked up at him, eyes darkened with the same hew they always are. "Jungkook, go talk to Namjoon or Yoongi about this. I'm busy." His father snapped. He was always busy.
"Okay. Sorry." Jungkook squeaked out, turning around and taking a step towards the door. But then, he stopped.
He stopped and turned around. "No. I want you to give me permission. I don't want to be a kid anymore."
His father suddenly sat up a little more, placing the journal to the side and taking a puff of his cigarette. "That sounds new. I'm not sure you're up for that kind of responsibility. It takes a lot to step into an adult world, son."
Jungkook nodded. "I know that. But I'm tired of being treated like a kid around here. I'm 18, dad. Junghyun started at 13, so why can't I-" Jungkook started, referring to his brother.
"Jungkook." His father snapped, and Jungkook tensed and shut up, realizing he shouldn't have mentioned his brother.
"S-sorry."
"Alright. I understand. Tomorrow we need four people to go to the other side of town for a certain mission. You can go with three other boys." Dokeun said, and Jungkook got a little smile on his face.
"Okay! Okay. I'll do my best."
"I want you to do better than your best, Jungkook." His father gruffed, and Jungkook nodded, and then bid him goodnight and walked out of his room.
Fucking finally-

"Wait- where are we going today?" Taehyung asked, and Namjoon pressed his lips together.
"We just need four people to go to that gang in the east side. We've been getting threats from them." Namjoon said, and Taehyung nodded.
"Cool. Cool. Who all are going?"
"You. Jimin. Hoseok. And.. Jungkook." Namjoon mumbled, and then they heard a scoff. They were in the kitchen, so the chef could hear them.
The chef was, like, 45. "You're sending the kid? Ain't it a little unsafe for him there?"
"It is, and it wasn't my decision. Mr. Jeon told me to. So, Taehyung, just keep him safe, okay? Don't hand him a gun- in fact, just let him stay in the car."
Taehyung snickered. "Okay." Taehyung mumbled, and then the door opened and Jungkook walked in.
His fringe was parted in the middle, dressed in a black t-shirt and skinny jeans, a little hoister on his belt with a handgun attached to it. Taehyung cocked his eyebrow, couldn't help taking in the boy's appearance. He looked different. Usually he looked so, so innocent and child-like. Today he looked like he wasn't ready to take anyone's shit. In fact, the veins in his arms were a little more prominent, along with his thick thighs.
"Shouldn't we have left already?" Jungkook asked, voice a little gruff, eyes a little darkened.
"Um. Yeah- Hoseok's outside. We're waiting for Jimin." Taehyung said, and Jungkook looked at him, and Taehyung couldn't let his eyes drop from Jungkook's eyes to his feet, and then back up- letting them rest for a little on his ass.
When they locked eyes again, Taehyung saw Jungkook looking at him, probably saw him size him up, and just clicked his tongue and turned to Namjoon.
"Alright, Kook, listen up. We're gonna need two people to stay in the car and put a mic onto the other two to be able to listen to all the surrounding sounds. We also-"
"I know, Namjoon. I read the file." Jungkook snapped.
"..Okay. Either way, this could be unsafe, so I need you to be in the car, and just let the other three handle-" Namjoon started, and hen Jungkook snickered.
"Actually, I'm going to lead this one, Namjoon. 'Cause, after all, I am the Mafia leader's son. Which means I can do what I want. So, I don't exactly know why you're still talking," Jungkook said, giving him a confused yet smug smile.
Namjoon looked confused, and so did Taehyung. But Jungkook just huffed in annoyance, giving both of them intimidating looks. "K. I'm going to get Jimin. Go outside, Taehyung. We'd hate to be late." Jungkook said, before turning around and strutting outside of the kitchen.
"Alright, what the fuck was that?" Namjoon said, and Taehyung shrugged, his breath a little hitched.
(Taehyung had NO clue why he was so turned on right now. Or, actually, he might have a slight idea.)
"Kid's growing up. Soon he's going to be like that other boy. You remember how that went last time," The chef snickered, and Taehyung looked at the chef, a little confused.
"This is exactly why I didn't want to get him involved." Namjoon hissed under his breath, and then walked out of the room. Taehyung was a little confused, so the chef chuckled.
"That other boy was absolutely ruthless. You didn't know him, but I had the luck to- if you could call it that.
Once his father told him he'd be the next leader, he started acting like he already was. At 16, killed more men than any of those other guys. He used to be like a little brother to Namjoon and Jin and all- but he quickly became evidently superior. Scary stuff, I tell ya."
Taehyung laughed, and then turned to the chef. "Lemme guess. That's why they still treat Jungkook like a kid."
The chef smirked, leaning against the counter with his two palms. "Heck, all of us do. He's a sweet kid- we don't want him turning back. Y'know?" The chef said, and Taehyung nodded.
Now he kind of gets why the boys forced him to also treat Jungkook like a baby earlier. Everything else kind of makes sense..
Meanwhile,
Jungkook was walking up to Jimin's room. He wasn't there. He wasn't in any of the other rooms either. Jungkook was getting kind of fed up, wondering where the hell this guy was.
Jungkook was walking past some doors, when he heard some mumbling from inside of it. He walked back to where he heard it from, and then stopped outside the supply closet. Jungkook rolled his eyes.
He reached for the door. "Jimin I swear to god if you-" Jungkook started, and then opened the door.
Jimin was there. Oh, he definitely was. Except, so was Yoongi. And Yoongi had Jimin trapped against a wall, and both their lips were damp and red, and both were breathing heavily, and both their hair was messed up, and Yoongi's first two buttons was unbuttoned.
"Oh." Jungkook let out, eyes widened.
"We were just.... looking... for....... pens in here." Jimin stammered out, like an idiot, making Yoongi rolls his eyes.
"No, Jungkook. We were making out. What do you want?"
Jimin's eyes widened at Yoongi's abruptness, and so did Jungkook's. Jungkook let out a timid giggle. "Jimin, we-we need to go." Jungkook said, and Jimin's cheeks flushed.
"Oh, shit. I totally forgot." Jimin said, and then turned to Yoongi. "I need to go." Jimin said softly, and Yoongi leaned in.
"Hmm, alright baby. I'll see you later," Yoongi said, and then closed the door shut so he could make out with Jimin for a bit more. Jungkook sighed.
"Um.. okay.. I'll just- see you downstairs in like five minutes. Just- hurry up." Jungkook said quickly, and then rushed down when he heard a high pitched moan.
