"At Last we found them." A man in military uniform bellowed. "Don't let a single human escape." His voice held authority and the badges pinned on his shoulder showed his position in the army. 

"Found who commander?" a much younger man scratched his head.

"So you are a newbie, huh?" The commander frowned. "Those mutants, who call themselves Venarom, you should have at least heard of the people of the mark."

"Oh," The young man still looked confused.

"Just do as you have been told." The commander's eyes narrowed as he turned away.

Meanwhile, a girl smirked as she lingered in the shadows. "Finally, it has begun." A tattered dress barely covered her maturing body frame riddled with scars. Her chocolate skin glistened in the moonlight. "Ah... Let's watch a little longer." She muttered with sparkling eyes.

The darkness of the night was overtaken by the light of blazing fire as homes turned to ash . Shrieks rose over smoke. Blades shone and the soil grew moist until it grew silent again.

Amidst this commotion, a small group of kids slipped through the dense forest that surrounded the village. They scurried trying their best to get away unnoticed.

"Get moving!" A boy of almost 16 years shoved a few kids in the back. His still innocent face was clouded. The wind gnawed at his bones but he didn't stop. "We need to hurry" the urgency in his voice was quite clear.

"But Zan, they are hurt, they can't run." Another boy who seemed to be a year older muttered.

"Want to die? Go ahead be my guest. I should just leave by myself if I want to survive."With a sturn face Zan hoisted one of the kid up into the air and placed him on his shoulders. The kid trembled but did not fight back.

"What are you guys doing? Lift the others up" He screamed at the other kids as he continued to run.

No one argued and they followed him quietly.

Only the scrunching of dry leaves could be heard as the group disappeared into the dead of the night.
