Chapter 37

The next moment Zaria found herself along with Zia in a wide hall with a huge circle in the center. The hall looked like some teleportation room in an online RPG game.

Ateel was waiting there with a brown Buraq.

Zaria had never seen Ateel that excited before. Her eyes were sparkling and she was almost ready to pounce on Zaria.

"My buraqs name is Alia. Isn't it nice?" Ateel gave a bright smile.

"Yes, it's nice." Zaria knew that to Ateel this was her first family. Zaria could be her best friend but still at times what Ateel needed wasn't her. She needed someone who could give her past a meaning and connect her to the family she never knew.

"What is your Buraqs name?" Ateel asked looking towards Zia.

"It's Zia," Zia told proudly "I and Alia are best friends just like you and Zaria."

Suddenly the entire structure trembled. Fine sparkling sand that looked alot like fairy dust showered upon them. Upon looking up they could see huge cracks forming in the ceiling in an l elaborate manner. This ceiling abruptly split into five parts. The designs slowly widened sending streaks of light through the gaps.

Zaria and Ateel climbed onto the buraqs and shot upwards. All the cracks that had widened instantaneously split the entire mountain when they appeared midway to the top. The mountain opened like a lily with each petal laying low to the sides with the buraqs in the center high above it.

Slowly they landed on a golden path that stretched from the now split mountain which looked a lot like the stem of a flower.

Just as they got down they saw two people walking towards them with horses.

When they were close enough one of them said

"Ah, finally you got your Buraq."

"Yes, Mel" Zaria replied when the boy was just in front of her.

"Mel?" the boy asked.

"You aren't Mel?" Zaria looked doubtfully.

"Zar, have you finally gone crazy?" the boy looked at her seriously almost inspecting her " I am Zan."

"Zan." Zaria almost took a step back "How are you here?"

"I am the one with questions?" Zan sighed "Can you stop playing your game and tell me How you got here even though you don't know the way. I was sure you were lost somewhere."

"Luck and Coincidence I guess," Zaria gave an awkward smile. "By the way, we have to search for Stuza. She was the one who brought us here."

Ateel and Aran were standing at the side talking among themselves ignoring Zaria and Zan.

" We don't have time," Zan replied seriously "I was going to leave you if you weren't here."

"Look behind you," Zaria said with a sigh.

"Don't joke." Zan was ready to drag her away when someone grabbed him from the back.

Zan pushed the person away drawing his sword.

"Who..." Zan froze as he saw a short girl staring at him. He shook his head and sheathed his sword.

"Your now trying to bully such cute little girls," Zaria laughed turning towards Stuza who was almost sent into shock. "Don't worry this tyrant won't harm you."

Aran had come running when he heard the commotion but looking at the situation in front of him he calmed down.

"That's Stuza," Zaria explained. "We met her on our way here. In the dwarf community. They promised to help us if we need it."

"Yeah," Stuza had recovered and was now nodding fiercely. "We will help you to get rid of the evil king. The dwarfs have been hiding for a long time making people think we have gone extinct but we are not cowards so you all can count on us."

"Alright," Zan replied hurriedly.

" Are you also from people of the Mark like Zar? I was planning to ask Zar to take me along when he returned" Stuza said eagerly.

"We can't," Zan hurriedly interrupted cutting Stuza's hopes to leave with them. "We have somethings to settle so we can't."

"Alright, then here take this bell," Stuza handed a bell to Zaria "This bell was crafted by us it is paired with a bell I have so no matter where you are I will know the location. If you need help ring it, my father will do his best and come for your aide."

"Alright, we will remember that" Zan replied "And I know how good the dwarfs were so I will look forward to your cooperation. For now, we need to to go, something went wrong in Venarom but since we have no idea of what it is we can't take you along I hope you understand."

Aran nodded.

Stuza agreed and after giving them a bow left vanishing into the hidden tunnels made by the dwarfs.

Zan's face grew cloudy as soon as Stuza left.

"Zar can I count on you?" he asked as he mounted his buraq.

"Yeah," Zaria replied all her playfulness evaporating into thin air.

"As long as it's the place where the people I care about want to return." She looked at Ateel who had a worried look on her face.

The four of them arrived at the camp after a weeks travel on their Buraqs.

There was no one to greet them around. When they went and searched they found a few very small kids huddled in one tent.

"Where is everyone?" Zan asked.

"They went to Suda," A girl replied. "The king got to know."

"What did he get to know?" Zaria kneeled down and asked.

"He got to know that we are alive" the girl trembled as she said the words.

"How?" Zan was sure there weren't many ways the king could find out.

"It was Aleen..." the girl continued "Aleen showed her mark to Xian."

She stopped and looked at Zaria.

"Then..." Zan encouraged her to continue.

"Xian told it to a soldier," the girl shrank back after telling this.

"She must have done it by mistake," Zaria tried to explain.

"Doesn't matter," Zan eyes were knit as he walked out of the tent. "She caused this, so you are going to help me solve it."

"I would help you even if it hadn't been caused by Xian," Zaria sighed as she followed.

They met up with Ateel and Alan who had gone to search other areas and hurried to Suda.

They went to Miriam's house but found it empty.

The atmosphere was getting more and more suffocating but no one could do anything about it.

"They will be safe," Zaria tried talking she hated the way things were "they have the Queens tent. It's after all protected by magic."

"Yeah," Aran backed her up.

"Let's hope they are there," Zan just glanced at her and ended the topic.

Zaria almost heaved a sigh of relief when they arrived at the tent. Almost the whole group was there.

Everyone at once assembled when they saw Zan. A few of them looked at Zaria with hate but the rest of them just ignored her.

"I am sorry for failing," Alan came forward and said in a low voice. He was almost broken with various wounds all over his body.

"What have you planned for the future?" Zan did not blame him nor did he scold him for being incompetent.

"We are just trying to hold on," Alan started explaining " now and then we walk around and behave as if Suda is our home. At night we have been investigating the army stationed here but not all of them know about us. All they know is that some rebels were found in Suda. As for the people who know they seem to not know the reason for us being wanted."

"Continue," Zan said to Alan as he called Zaria who was standing in the corner to his side.

Zaria quietly walked towards Zan and just stood there without knowing what she was called for.

"They have 400 people and they are planning an attack on Suda sometime soon but I don't know when. The entire army is very disorganized and I was only able to get this much without making things worse."

"Do you think we should fight?" Zan asked calmly.

"We don't have a choice," Alan said, "Miriam said she was going to protect the smaller ones but we need to divert the soldiers for that."

"Aran what do you think?" Zan looked at Aran who was standing behind him.

"How about using illusions?" Aran pointed out "We could not do it before but now we have enough people to hold it."

Everyone looked at each other surprised.

"Before only I and you could manage magic for an extended amount of time but now we have Zaria and Ateel too." Aran continued " If we can combine our power we might just pull it off."

"Zar," Zan called out almost sending Zaria into shock. "You can see the army and hear even their thoughts right?"

"Yes, if they are within a few kilometers I'll be able to see and hear everything unless I go into mental shock with too many emotions," Zaria responded.

"How can we believe him," someone in the crowd voiced out. "None of us has ever heard of such a power."

"Miriam taught me and I have my reasons to help you. For now, I can't have you guys dying," Zaria calmly said.

She might be playful in front of Ateel, Zan, and Aran because she considered them her friends. 'Yeah even the tyrant was somehow put into that category' but the rest of Venarom were just people. Why would she care to do anything to make herself not look like a villain?

From the time she got her powers, she wouldn't hurt people physically if possible due to the fear of losing control but harsh words were her specialty.

A small smile formed on Zan's face at seeing this response from Zaria.

"Everyone of us has a different power right," Zan looked at everyone seriously "we have to use every ability we get and I hope you guys trust me enough to let me handle this."

Everyone agreed, not a single person tried to rebel.

"We will look into the details tomorrow morning, make sure everyone who is absent attends it," Zan said as he walked towards a portrait pushing it he disappeared behind it with Zaria, Aran, and Ateel.

A/N: Sorry for the long long gap. Life was throwing curve balls at me so I really could not get any time out. I will try my best to complete the first book without too long of gaps in between but I might not be able to keep a schedule. I hope you understand.

That's all for today I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think.
