-- NIANA'S POV --
"We decided to do the wedding as soon as possible." Mr Richardson smiled as we were currently sat at a table in an expensive restaurant.
"Okay." I said going back to eating my food.
My Daddy and I sat together with Arlo opposite me and Mr Richardson opposite him.
"So what do you think Niana?" Arlo asked but I just couldn't stop eating the fried turkey that laid pleasantly on my plate.
"Niana." My Daddy said sternly.
"Sorry, I'm just a bit hungry." I smiled sheepishly.
"It's agreed, the wedding will hold next two weeks Saturday at Miami." My Daddy announced.
"But School?" I asked as a slight frown covered my face.
Why were they such in a haste to do the wedding?
"I'll take care of that. " Mr Richardson said with a wide smile.
Okay, he seemed to happy for this event.
"When is your midterm break ending?" My Daddy asked.
"Tomorrow, Sunday Mr Rodrigo." Arlo answered politely.
"Oh, just call me by my name, we'll be in-laws soon."
"Ok, Mr Rodr-- I mean Sir-- Dylan." He stuttered making everyone chuckle.
"You should call me Peté too Niana." Mr Richardson said making me nod and give a small smile.
"That's true." My Daddy agreed.
"I'm glad the children understood the situation the women put us in." Mr Richardson joked making my daddy laugh.
After we were done eating, My Daddy and peté left, remaining both Arlo and I. He just sat there staring at the table for a while before he spoke.
"Don't let this marriage give you false hope." He said.
"Are you a Fool?" I asked in annoyance.
"Wait did you just?" He chuckled throwing his head back and doing that thing where he rolls his tongue inside his mouth. "Did you just call me a Fool?"
"I asked if you are a Fool." I replied.
"How dare you?"
"That's what I thought, don't think I'll have false hopes because of this wedding because I have someone i like." I said and I think that riled him up.
"Who? Does the person know you are engaged? You better not cheat on me." He gritted his teeth.
"You too. Now if you would excuse me, i have important things to do." I smiled sweetly before getting up and making my way out.
Asshole.
"Wú lǐ de xiǎozi." I hear him tell before I locked the door behind me.
(Meaning "Disrespectful brat".)
Only God knows what that means. I thought to myself as I made my way to the car, driving straight to the airport to pick Sydney up.
I got there an hour later as I walked towards waiting area to wait for her. I chew on my bottom lip as the heat from the sun grazed my skin, making me uncomfortable. So I took off my jacket.
"Bitch!" I hear someone yell, instantly recognising it as her voice.
"My lady." I chuckled when she hugged me with full force making me stumble backward.
"I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you more." I giggle as she rubbed her face on my shoulder.
"Hey." I heard a small voice as I looked up to see Bryan, Sydney's younger brother, he was a year younger than me but an inch taller than me.
"Hey Bryan." I smiled as he shyly smiled and looked away.
"Awwwn, can't handle his crush." Sydney teased making him groan and walked away.
"Stop syd."
"No, you stop making my brother feel this way, he can't even talk to you without blushing."
"Well, I'm eng--"
I cut myself off before I blurt out what it's supposed to be a secret. Arlo and I had promised each other to keep the wedding a secret even from our best friends. I didn't want to keep it especially from Sydney but he insisted that she wouldn't want to go out with him of she finds out.
"You are What?" She asked with a frown.
"I'm engaging my self in a loyalty test between him and Arlo." I said the first nonsense that could come out of my mouth.
"You plan to date my brother?"
"I don't know yet, I means he had liked me for the past three years."
"I know that's pathetic." She said making me laugh.
"It's not and I feel it's cute."
"Stop leading him on, just tell him you too old for him."
"I can't say that, it's rude."
"Do you like my brother?.....ewww."
"Relax I don't." I chuckled.
"Better." She laughed.
I collected one of her bags as we headed to my car, Bryan was already standing there.
"He'll get over these feelings once he sees the girl he can't stop thinking of."
"I'm sure." She sighed.
"So how was your vacation?"
"It was pleasant, I had a lot of fun but I missed having you." She said.
"Well, you'll start seeing me again as from Monday." I shrugged.
"Yeah, school." She pouted.
We walked to the car as Bryan collected the bags and arranged them in the boot. Going to the passenger side, he opened the door and slid in.
"Bryan sit at the back." Sydney ordered.
"And why should I?"
"Because I'm two years older than you and this is my best friend's car." She answered sternly.
"Well, I'm also related to Nia, in a more reasonable way." He scoffed making Sydney boil.
"Who gave you the right to call her Nia, huh?" Sydney yelled making me look round as people start to stop to look.
"She gave me that right." He yelled back.
"Are you fucking kidding m--"
"Okay, that's enough now. Sydney please let him sit at the front for today."
After a lot of glaring she finally answered. "Fine."
She entered the back seat not before smacking his head as he threw his own glare making me chuckle at the siblings. They always had a way of getting into a fight.
Their parents insisted on staying another week in Florida. We drove home chatting with Sydney teasing her brother and Ralph blushing frequently.
