Chapter 5
New Update! Hope you enjoy!
Everything around me was buzzing, my mind blank, my hair tingling from the roots and eyes wide open to the two Dark Elves in front of me. My feelings and emotions crackling through the barriers of self-control. I don't know whether to cry, laugh or run away. I look at Ergon, his features now a grey-blue, eyes dark black and his teeth... pearly white and sharp. Everything he was before, bright, tanned and sunny, now washed away.
"Let me get this straight, all this time you have been pretending to be Light Elves all because you're looking for a princess?" Talliah and Ergon nod their head and come to their feet. They sit in the two lounge chairs on either side of me.
"Yes, and that princess is sitting next to us in this very room." Talliah says, excitement in her tone. I shake my head at the two, standing to leave. This is nonsense. My father is the King of Light. There is no way, I am not anything but a Light Elf. Yes... I may have odd features, but I look like my father!
"Please don't leave, Princess. Let us explain?" Ergon said cooly, he now had a cup of tea in hand, sitting back in the lounge chair.
"I'm not who you say I am." I reply, facing the two. Their appearances throwing me off. Almost quite like mine. No, this is bonkers.
"Sit, have tea and let's talk." Before I knew it, my feet were dragging me to the lounge and a hot cup of black tea was pour magically in front of me.
Talliah was munching away at the cookies that were served, eyes closed in delight. They were relaxed, unserious. How can I take them seriously when they are acting like this happens every day.
Shaking my head, I life the cup of tea carefully and take a sip, the strong taste of tea leaves coating my taste buds.
"So, Princess let me start at the beginning." Ergon says, placing his cup down and facing me. His eyes darken and suddenly I am pulled into his mind.
"Don't panic, I am just pulling you into the depths of my memory." His voice echoes and my body buzzes as the world around me moves at a rapid pace. I'm not sitting in the lounge chair anymore, but standing in a destroyed palace, people circling something. Someone.
I move closer; however, no one notices. Taking in my appearance, I seem to be invisible. Ergons power is amazing. Whispering and crying came from the circle of people. Dark Elves. Moving closer I look and there are a man and woman, holding onto a baby wrapped in black and white cloth. Dark spiralling shadows and mist were circling around the destroyed palace, haunting and whispering unearthly words at the people down below. What is this?
"This is the start of the curse amongst our people. Killing us slowly, one by one."
"How did the curse start?" I ask softly, my heart bleeding for this family. A young black-haired boy ran in the room crying, screaming mummy and daddy. The two cuddle the boy, whispering soft sweet words.
"Your birth started the curse."
My ears started to ring as the words slipped from his mouth, bouncing off my skull over and over.
"It is not your fault. Your parents King Dyson and Queen Penelope displeased a very ancient Dragon and the price for forgiveness was their daughter. You. However, this day we are looking at, is his collection of you."
The mist and shadows got darker, angrier the more the King and Queen wept, holding tightly onto the baby. The circle of people around them started to collapse, their skin greying and their pulses slowing. What is happening to them?
"The curse is poisoning them. The more they hold off giving you the Dragon, the more this curse kills everyone."
Suddenly the King and Queen look at each other and a figure walk into the room. His face covered by a black hood; his body covered in blades. The King whispered something to the man and handed over the baby. There was a sudden roar and the shadows started taking a form of large ugly beasts. The man suddenly disappears in thin air, the image in front of me changing and I'm now watching the man run through the dark forest with the baby in his arms. His body is shimmering with green, as it holds a protective field around him. Slick as a ninja.
"My Father Demetris Boysen has taken you from your family under the Kings order. He is under attack and is slowly dying of the poison however has the strength to give you to the Light Kingdom, your Uncle King Julif."
The scene rapidly changed and now were at the steps of the castle gates. This figure, Ergon's father was breathing rapidly, sweat ceasing his brow. But that doesn't stop him from placing the baby down and leaving it there to be seen by a guard.
A letter is placed gently beside the baby and as quick as he was there, he was gone in the wind. I'm now standing, watching this baby who slept so soundlessly, unaware of what was happening to her family. Soon the guard approached, who I recognise as Captain Torin.
"Once you were passed through the boarders of Light, the Dragon had lost your scent. You were safe however your family suffers inside the dark forest, forever locked away."
Before I could comprehend, I was shaken and dizzily sent back to the current time, my eyes blinking to adjust to my surroundings.
Talliah came to sit beside me, grasping my hand. "Are you okay?" She asks softly.
"No. No I'm not. Ergon your magic, that felt so real."
"Because it is. In sense. That was the past. Us Boysons are connected so we can see into the past of our ancestors." I shook my head and rubbed my palms over my eyes.
"So, my whole life is a lie?" I say, my brain fuzzy.
"To keep you safe. King Julif had known about this for a long time, knew that once you grew and entered the Academy and came to us, you would know."
"How come he never told me?"
"To keep you safe. If you discovered your powers at a young age, they wouldn't have been able to keep you safe. Nor themselves safe. Once you encountered your powers, the Dragon would find you."
I shook my head and stood, the afternoon sun shining through the stained window, the day has gone away from me.
"So, I am in danger?" I ask, looking at the two. They both nod, their faces grim.
"Yes, but we can train you, you can use your powers to protect yourself and hopefully save your kingdom."
"Save my kingdom? How the heck am I supposed to do that? And why me? Why aren't you saving it! Your more powerful than me!" Ergon shook his head, standing.
"We aren't what the Dragon want, and we don't have the Ancient Powers that run through your veins. You are the daughter of two powerful rulers in the Dark Kingdom."
This is nuts, totally a joke. Yes this all seems real and plausible but this is very crazy. I need to speak with Father.
"Look its getting dark and you need to rest. You are now a part of the Student Council as our first-year representative. So as of tomorrow, you will be one of us. Think about it, but don't take long, Princess. Now that your vigil has gone, your powers have woken, and the Dragon will find you." Talliah says, placing a hand on my shoulder, squeezing softly.
I nod, feeling slightly numb with all this information. Yes, a rest will be good. I need to think.
"Okay." I reply. Ergon hands me a piece of paper.
"This is your schedule. As you are now a part of the council, you will need to report to your duties after classes."
Talliah leads me to the door, "I will take you to your dorm." I allow Talliah to lead me out of the Student Council Room, looking dully at the schedule.

"Blood Magic and Chaos Magic?! Is that what I have?" I turn to Talliah, eyes wide and my heart thumping in my chest. This can't be. This is way too dark. People will get suspicious of me and kill me!
"Don't worry, only we know you have this magic and possibly more. To the Headmaster and others, you just have basic Light Skills which is Earth Magic. You can grow things and manipulate the ground. Which is the twisted truth as you can manipulate things not just the Earth with your Blood Magic. Your Chaos magic allows you to visit others state of consciousness and control them. That you will have to try and not let out. But do not fret, we will be able to help you."
I nod, taking it all in. I didn't think these things existed. Blood Magic and Chaos Magic. I will have to study this up as soon as I can.
Soon enough we stand at the door of my dorm, Talliah looking at me with a sad smile.
"Im very sorry we have loaded a lot on you today. But please think about this. It's your safety we worry and for our family." She gave me a quick squeeze on the shoulder and left me in peace. My mind was buzzing with information, so I feel that there isn't much peace and quiet. I watch as her figure fades down the hall and I enter the room, leaning up against the cool wood, breathing in a sigh.
What have I gotten myself into?
