“Yes, Chief.” I muttered as I attached the horses to the wagon. As my punishment for not bringing any prey home, I was to go to a nearby tribe and trade our goods with them. The good thing was my friend Andrea would be there.

“Good. Now go, if you are to get there before nightfall.” Chief Kosumi handed me a sack of food for breakfast, lunch, and supper.

I climbed onto the sitting box on the wagon and shook the reins. “Giddy up!” I called. The horses went into motion, walking at a brisk pace.

As I rode, I ate a quick breakfast and lunch. It wasn’t until two hours past dark until I got to Andrea’s village. So as to not startle the sleeping village, I parked my horses a little way outside the houses. I tied the horses up to a tree, and crawled in the wagon to sleep. I was so tired, I didn’t even eat dinner.
