PART SIX
After a week spent in LA and visiting Nico's dad every day, the hospital finally decided it was okay for Hades to go home. They only advised them to look after him in case anything else happened.
They also told them he had until the end of the summer.
That wasn't the only thing they spent doing that week, they went shopping for Will, that was something Nico wasn't sure he wanted to repeat ever again. They'd gone into too many stores that were too cheery and bright for Nico. And stores he never knew existed. Or he just never paid attention to them. He remembered there being something about an H&M for Men. He'd wondered what the hell the H and M stood for.
"Nico." Came a whisper in his ear as he slept the morning after that week.
"Nico." There it was again and he smiled, he liked the sound of that voice. It was smooth and content. It reminded him of a sunny meadow with a creek running across it.
"Gosh, you have a nice smile. What are you dreaming, I wonder." With that comment, the voice gained a face and a body in Nico's head and he jerked back as he opened his eyes.
"Will! For fuck's sake!"
Will smiled, "Good you're up. Hazel told me to wake you. She made breakfast and were supposed to leave to pick up your dad afterwards."
Nico sat up and glared at him, "Your face first thing in the morning is not something I want to see."
"Aw, cutie. I definitely want to see your face first thing in the morning."
"Can you stop?"
"Stop what?"
"Calling me cutie."
"Would you prefer my cutie."
"I would prefer nothing."
"I guess it makes sense. Nothing is permanent, you're my nothing." Will shrugged and headed for the door. "I'll see you downstairs, Nothing."
Nico threw a pillow at him but he was already out the door. "Fuckin' cute bastard," he mumbled. Then he blushed at what had come out of his mouth. That was not what he had intended to say. He was just glad Will hadn't been in the room to hear him.
He climbed out of bed and quickly joined them in the kitchen. He parked his butt at the kitchen island beside Hazel, unfortunately, Will sat himself next to Nico. He tried to ignore it and looked at the food. There was waffles, eggs and orange juice.
He grabbed a plate and served himself some of everything. He poured the orange juice in a clear glass and began digging in.
"Someone was hungry." Hazel said, smiling.
"I just am. Don't know why." Nico shrugged.
"My husband might be little but he can fit a lot in that sexy body of his." Will added.
Heat rushed to Nico's cheeks, but he glared at him to make up for it. "We're the same height."
"You were shorter than me our freshman year."
"That was four years ago. I had my last growth spurt that summer."
Will smiled, "I noticed."
"Hmph." Nico went back to his food
Hazel elbowed him lightly, grinning from ear to ear, "You two are so cute."
"We are not so cute."
Hazel only laughed. No one really said anything else, they were no doubt remembering the fact that they would be picking up a dying Hades. They were quiet towards the car ride to the hospital too.
Hades was waiting for them at the entrance in a wheelchair. Persephone was standing behind him. Nico pulled over and got out to help Persephone get Hades inside the car and the wheelchair, too. When he was done setting his father in the passenger seat, Hazel started fussing over him and Will got out to help with the wheelchair.
"Thanks," Nico mumbled.
Will grinned, "Happy to help the love of my life."
Nico wanted to say something but his father and Persephone were there and they thought they were happily married so he only nodded and went back in the car. As soon as he closed the door behind him and Will was also inside, Hades spoke up. "You two make a good couple...I'm glad you've found someone who understands you, son."
Nico was surprised at his words and didn't know what to say, "Oh um-thank."
"And William, thank you for being with my son."
"Your welcome, I couldn't see myself with anyone else." Nico looked over at him from the rear view mirror. Will was looking back at him tenderly. He looked back at the road.
"Yeah...me too."
Everyone was silent again. Hades's condition really put a damper on everyone's mood. And Nico didn't want to admit it, but the guilt of lying to his dying father brought down the mood too.
A/N
Quick thing guys, so I dedicated this to emotionallypizza and I noticed I didn't really say anything about them so I wanted to say it now. They are really great, like seriously, like basically every chapter thy always say something about the chapter being good so that is the reason behind the dedication. They're super supportive so also, you guys should read their fics! Nico and Will are portrayed in a way better manner than in my fics so go over there if you're looking for something else to read!
But also thank you all for continuing to read this! seriously, thank you.
Yours in demigodishness and all that, Izzy
