32 - LAUGHTER
Jack fell, the sound of wind loud in his ears as he plummeted through the black, as well as the sound of the crazed chuckling that he'd come so used to. The air tossed his skirt and wings around and made his green hair pull straight away from his face, exposing his teary eyes to the blackness. But he wasn't losing his cool, or his confidence, now.
"ANTI! Get your ASS out here!" The Irishman yelled, and just as the words left his lips a faint chanting erupted, and a glitchy face appeared before him, spanning his entire vision. The eyes were dark as pits, while a stabbing smile contorted his entire face into something horrifying. He was the one chanting.
"5͡ p̕a̶rţs t̴o m͢a͜k̨e͞ ́a̡ ͏w̛hole.
5͢ par͞ts̡ ͘t͠o͜ mak͞e a͏ ̢s҉oul.
5͞ pa̷r̶ts to͜ b͞ŕįng ̵h̷er͝ back͠,̵
̸
Goo͠d̡ ̀Lùck̴ ͘Jack̴!"
"What t'e fuck are you talking about? Where's Signe?"
"Listen, Ja̕ck͝abo͞y-͝y-͘y̧. Can you hear them? The m-̨m-̴monste̶r͡s̨, waiting for you, sssmiling at you. Keeping-g their claws on the pieces I need you to get-t-t for meee." Anti said, pointing down with a disembodied hand that pierced through the black. There was an extensive maze of mossy walls below the falling man, and when he squinted in the distance he could see what looked like a giant version of Signe, asleep on the couch and hazed with a dark mist.
"And when I do?" Jack looked back up to giant Anti, groaning at the infuriating smile he had on, the lip he was biting with his sharp teeth as if holding in a giggle; Anti was really just a child, a child "Oh fuck it..just get out of my face." He muttered, striking the cheek of the giant with all his strength just to show him he wasn't weak.
"As you wish."
Jack was thrown into the maze. Looming granite walls looked like cardboard from the corner of his eye, and the man suspected as much from Anti. Through the darkness a familiar but dauntingly high ceiling was visible, and the wood grain of a door desperately wished to be seen.
It was all fake.
But that didn't stop goosebumps from exploding up his arms as Jack walked into the entrance of the maze, and was faced with a small form at his feet. It was trembling, whimpering, scared, and admittedly, human. The Irishman was quick to kneel down to it, fingers hovering over the form before he scooped it up to hold at his chest height.
"Hey, hey dude. Hey, I won't hurt'cha." Jack whispered, smiling once the form looked up to him and stopped cowering. "Did Anti shrink you too?"
"Yeah, and you'll need to hurt me. My name's Sam."
He seemed to be a smaller version of himself, with the same bright green hair and pale skin, except his one visible eye was green instead of white, while the other was completely hidden behind the fringe. A hoodie bore an eye-like emblem. It was strikingly familiar, and the name just tied it all together.
"Sam, as in Septiceye Sam?" Sam seemed to smile happily at the lilting Irish accent saying his name and propped himself up in the giant's hands.
"Yeah. I'm one of the pieces, and I know the way to your friend." At that, there was no hesitation on Jack's part to set the form on his shoulder and run down the straight corridor until he reached a fork in the corridor. Looking down each side, Jack was quick to heed a quiet call from Sam into his ear.
"Oh, you don't know how glad I am to be able to help someone, I've been stuck there forever. Turn right."
The tiny was holding on tight to the straps of Jack's wings and dress, his other hand against the Irishman's ear as the large head nodded, and the giant broke back into a run. Footsteps echoed along empty corridors, the only sounds were the heaving of Jack's breath and the directional calls of Sam. They seemed to be making good time and eventually, the duo stumbled upon a grey drivers cap lying discarded on the floor - the only thing they'd seen in the maze other than themselves, vines, and looming granite walls. The threads of the hat were bare and fraying, but it still seemed to have a special significance when lying in a previously empty and ongoing labyrinth of darkness.
"This must be the second piece, does it have any significance to you?" Sam asked, sliding down the broad shoulder onto an open palm that met the rough floor in time for him to jump off. The tiny lifted up the cap and pushed it into Jack's hands with a grunt, watching the giant dust it off before nestling it into his green locks with an overjoyed grin. His old hat, finally back where it belonged.
"Still fits like a glove, now come on Sammie. We got ta go." Without any word of warning, and no moment for resting, Sam's legs were gripped tight in a fist and the 6-inch human was set back on his warm to be the Irishman's navigator once more. But a strange rumble had filled the air, and just as the hoodied teenager had instructed Jack to turn right, an unforgiving pillar of stone grated itself out and lodged into the wall, all at the speed of a blink. Then another. And another. They sprung out all around Sam and Jack, who had pinned the tiny in a fist, his other hand clutching onto his cap as he scurried backwards before he could get grounded to a pulp by the spiked pillars. A boobie trap. And it had almost got them too, the thought leaving Jack gasping for breath and feeling terrified that he'd just outrun a very painful death.
"Hee-hee-hee-hee, a Ḩ́͢͡Ą̶̶́͢H̸̸͜Á̶̧͞H̴̸͘͜͠A͘͘̕H̨̡̕͢A͟͡! Jackaboy, you'll never st-t-tand a chance if youuuu c-c-c-carry on like this-s-s."
"Fuck off asshole! Stay away from me and Sam!" Jack roared, glancing down to the form now cupped against his chest, baby blues glowering from under his cap at the walls keeping them captive.
"I-I-I-I-I have nooo i̡̛͝ņt̨͘͏̢͘e̛҉ņ̴̨͢t̶̨́͜͝į̷͞ó͜n̷͡ of hurt-t-ting you. Orrr your new ͏́̀p͢͝-͡ṕ̶̶-p̡͘e͏̷t̸͢! It's s̴͟o̢͝o͢o̵͠ ̷̡m͝ù̧͘c̢̀h̶̕-c͝h̀ ̡̛͢m͡҉o̴͜͞ŕ̢e̵͘͜ ̶͠f̀͠-f̡͡͞-̢f͢un̷̛ ͝to watch you Ḑ̷͝-҉DI͘͘E̸!" The voice faded away into the distance, and the silence invaded the space and the sound it seemed to leave behind. Jack whispered calm words to the tiny desperately clinging to him, a fingertip ruffling the green locks while the others stroked his upper back.
"J-Jack...we've got to find another way. The next piece is close, and I don't know how much time we have."
Jack nodded, spinning on his heel to run the other way, cautious eyes darting as he searched for other slots in the wall where pillars might jump out and crush them both. The very sound of Antisepticeye's voice had made the hairs stand up on his neck, and he knew he wouldn't be able to complete the labyrinth and save his friend without the layer of fear over his every movement. Traps, monsters, and now he had to protect his cap and Septiceye Sammie too, as well as his own skin.
It was another long, cautious, 15 minutes before they stumbled upon a pair of old gamer's headphones, which he donned with a smile that seemed to fill the area with at least a little bit more warmth. Sam had moved from his shoulder to the top of Jack's head beneath his cap, and the tiny had cheered and clapped at the headphones arching over him.
"Three down, two to go! Then we can save Signe and defeat Antisepticeye!"
"Fuck yeah. Hi-five Sammie! Jackabell kicks ass!" Jack chuckled as he felt a small hand slap against his head, before he disappeared again beneath the cap and nestled down into the green locks and held on tight. With a cheerful shake of his wings, Jack proceeded onward, actually feeling as if he'd be able to save his good friend and return to Mark and Felix. Maybe he'd be small for a while longer until Anti decided to let him go, but at least he'd be small with his friends.
"Jack? Hey bro, are you okay in there?"
It was Felix's voice!
"Pewds! Hey Felix, I'm down 'ere you dumbass! Hey FELIX" Jack had practically exploded with excitement seeing the shadowy figure of the fellow Youtuber towering over the top of the maze walls, forcing Sam to cover his ears even though he was laughing happily. He'd learnt of Jack's position, learnt why he was in a Tinkerbell dress, learnt what he was planning to do with the pieces Sam seemed to have a link to. So the idea that they now had a full-sized giant on their side, one of Jack's friends nonetheless, they would be able to defeat Anti easily.
But as Jack and Sam got closer, it was clear that there was no giant. The voice kept repeating over and over again until it became grating in Jack's ears, and when they turned the corner that Pewdiepie should've been in, a grim surprise awaited them. There were no large tennis shoes squished into the thin corridor, no friendly waiting hand or familiar face looming above. There was, however, a severed leg, and a scent of burning hair, as well as a pile of metal that seemed to be moving steadily toward them, bright yellow eyes shifting all the way around its "head".
"NOT PEWDS! NOT PEWDS!"
"Back up Jack! Go left! GO LEFT!" Sam yelled, pulling on Jack's hair rather roughly and attempting to jerk the entire Irishman to the left and away from the monster and its nauseating smell. Bad choice, since running into the next hallway had only triggered another trap, this one releasing a whole bunch of the same creature, except they were notably faster and smarter, immediately climbing together to form larger beings.
Chilling laughter emanated from mechanical, grinding mouths and scraped the insides of Jack's ears. The Irishman shuddered and skidded as he tried to run away, another laughing song echoing through the neverending walls, as well as the faint sound of female screaming.

PART 2 of 7 - TINKER
Art by me! I hope I can add some little chapter drawings at the start of the new ones because this one was very fun to draw. The design I had in mind for Septiceye Sam was from the art of floatingmegane-san on Tumblr and Deviantart (https://www.deviantart.com/floatingmegane). I thought I better link just in case.
I'll give this a part three since it was getting long, and that will be the last one since I don't want this to go on forever. Hope you enjoyed!
