The Romance of Beowulf (Exo Kyungsoo/D.O.)

My school is a hierarchy: Smart kids at the top, bad or not so smart kids at the bottom. I was in the middle... well more to the bottom. It wasn't that I was a bad kid or I wasn't smart, I just have some problems paying attention. I have a valid reason though, it's a boy. He's so smart and cute that I can't help but look at him all the time. Yes, it's as creepy as you think. He probably knows I look at him all the time, especially when he reads. Plenty of other girls do it too so I suppose it's no big deal right?
~Kyungsoo's POV~
That girl, (Y/N) I think, she's always staring at me. I won't protest because she's pretty but it's hard to be stared at because if I do anything wrong, she'll notice. Sometimes when she's not looking, I look at her. I don't know why I find my eyes wandering toward her, it's distracting me from my work...
~Your POV~
After class, the teacher wanted to talk to me so I wandered my way to the front of the class. "What's up?" I asked.
"You know, (Y/N), your grades are really slipping." I nodded slowly. "I think you should get a tutor. So I asked Kyungsoo if he could help you afterschool, make sure you don't just leave, okay?" I nodded vigorously. She patted my shoulder and sent me back to my seat. I glanced over at Kyungsoo and he was looking at me. When he saw that I noticed, he looked back down at his paper quickly. I sighed, hoping he wasn't mad that he had to help someone who stared at him instead of doing her work. He was always quiet and by himself while I was always loud and surrounded by many friends, it was kind of sad. He had the chance to be friends with the other super smart students, but he chose not to.
School seemed to go by quicker than normal, probably from my excitement. As soon as the bell rang I stood up and moved my stuff to the spot next to him. "Uh... hey!" I said, trying to be friendly and not creepy. He looked up and motioned for me to sit down before pulling some notebooks out of his backpack.
"So, what's your worst subject? We can start from there."
"Math, all the numbers confuse me..." He started sorting through his notebooks, pulling out the one with 'Math' neatly written on it. Even his hand writing was perfect.
"What sections do you have a hard time with?" I thought about it, reaching over and pointing to the geometry tab. He nodded and flipped to there, looking for a place to start explaining. I opened my notebook, full of half-finished notes and drawings. He glanced at my notebook, doing a double take at the notes. "Well that could be your problem, why don't you copy some of mine down and I'll explain them as we go." I agreed and started comparing notes. He used a soft and sweet voice to explain each term to me, it was really soothing, much better than that obnoxious substitute we had to put up with. Time flew and before I knew it I was all caught up and even understanding some of the confusing words from before. The session was over and Kyungsoo started packing up, sliding his notebooks back into his bag.
"Wow that was really helpful. Thank you!" I smiled, and gave him a thumbs up. He chuckled a little and waved goodbye, leaving me to the silence of the empty classroom.
The next morning I waved to him while entering the classroom, earning a small wave in return. Today during math, I actually knew what was happening. Between my glances at Kyungsoo and my note taking, I was relaxed. I even answered a question... correctly. Kyungsoo smiled at me when that happened. He was being a friend, nothing more... sadly. Afterschool came quickly, like yesterday I moved over next to him. Today he would be helping me with English. We were reading Beowulf and honestly I had no clue what the story was about. I'm pretty sure it's about wolves, that makes sense right? "So have you been keeping up with the reading assignments?" He asked.
"Uh..."
"I'm just going to assume no then." He said, opening the book. He had so many sticky notes with all sorts of questions and notes on them. He started from the beginning, explaining the great King Beow and his achievements, moving on the horrible creature Grendel that attacked the great hall and brutally murdered people. He told it like a movie, reading out quotes that he loved, eyes sparkling with excitement. He clearly loved literature. By the end of the session we had only caught up half way but at least I knew that it wasn't about wolves. In order to please Kyungsoo, I went home. And read the whole book. Cover to cover. The story was exciting if I'm honest. The way Kyungsoo explained it, I could see the book playing out in my head. It was so enchanting.
The next morning I came in, slightly tattered from an all-nighter and tiredly waved to my new friend. He confusedly waved back, getting up and coming to my desk. "Uh... why do you look like you didn't go to sleep?"
"Because I didn't" I yawned out.
"Why?" I took out the book and slammed it on my desk. "You read it all?" I nodded. And then I pulled out my drawing notebook, flipping to my work from this morning. It was a drawing of him. "You... drew me?"
"Yes, it's for you. I drew it as a kind of thank you for all your help so far..." I answered shyly. He smiled and accepted the rough piece of paper. He tucked it away in one of his folders, handling it with care. He probably knew I liked him. You can get that aura from people, I didn't get an aura of much of anything from him.
Class began and the teacher was definitely impressed with my responses about Beowulf's journey to defeat Grendel's mother and a dragon. I was probably becoming a quality student, my friends were starting to leave me though. I wasn't in their league anymore, so they didn't want to be my friend. I don't need them. My afterschool session started once more and I wandered to my usual spot. Today was History, the timeline was a jumbled mess in my head. Kyungsoo pulled out a super organized timeline, in attempts to correct the one that I thought was right. "So Mesopotamia was the first civilization?" He nodded and pointed at the chart.
"What did you think it was?"
"I didn't think it was anything... I thought it just happened one day." He laughed, nudging my arm a little.
The days went on like this, until we had covered all 8 subjects we had to take, it took about 2 weeks. Even after that though, we still hung out. Sharing notes, discussing the latest books and assignments, studying for tests. I became the second ranked student in the class, after Kyungsoo of course. One day, he was acting weird, all giggly and nervous.
"Are you on drugs or something?" I laughed loudly, pushing his arm. He just smiled. "Seriously, there's something wrong with you." I chuckled glancing back down at my Anatomy notes. "So-" I started when I turned to him, something warm stopping my mouth from continuing. Kyungsoo's lips were on mine, shutting me up. He moved back, seriously blushing.
"(Y/N)... let's not talk about school for once? I really like you. From your beautiful laugh, your (h/l) (h/c) hair, your sparkling personality, even the way you say 'Beowulf'." He looked away, unable to look me in the eyes. I was frozen.
"Kyungsoo... I never thought..."
"You don't like me do you? You're just my friend?"
"No it's not that at all! I really like you too I just never noticed that you had feelings for me..." He looked back over, a bright smile spread across his face.
This was the start a beautiful, studious relationship.
