Makeshift Gauge (Shuuichi Saihara x Fem! Reader)

You guys: Ouma! Saihara!

Me, a Korekiyo, Kiibo and Gonta fan: yes of course ;v;

I'm just kidding. I love Ouma and Saihara too. Requested by: ZefanyagraceKarnadi . No spoilers ;)

"I'm telling you all, I didn't do it!"

Tears poured from my eyes as my classmates stared at me suspiciously. Despite my constant begging and pleading innocence, it only proved to make me appear more guilty.

For what, you ask?

My classmate, Rantarou Amami, was murdered. No one knows why, or who did it, but everyone was beginning to suspect me as being the killer. I fell forward, catching my weight under the podium, tears crashing onto the floor.

"Tenko knows you did it!"

"My God has told me you are guilty, and my god is never wrong!"

"Kyakyakya! To think this whiny bitch killed a pretty boy like him!"

Suddenly, I heard a calm, small voice cut through everyone's accusations. "She didn't do it."

I looked up, my vision blurry from the tears, to see Saihara looking straight at me. His jaw was slightly clenched, and he stared down at the ground. I wiped my tears with my eyes as he cleared his throat to speak again.

"Everyone, (y/n) is not the killer!" He yelled, quieting down everyone in the trial room. It fell completely silent, but it was quickly pierced by the sound of Monokuma's laugh.

"Are you sure about that, Saihara? All of the evidence points to her!" The bear laughed, putting me into a state of panic. The plush usually never intervened during the trials, but he did this time. I had assumed, in that instant, that I was done for.

"She didn't do it!" He yelled, even louder this time. "Rantarou was killed in the shower room of her room, correct? But that doesn't make her guilty!"

"That just makes her more guilty," Kaito scoffed.

"You're looking at this all wrong. The time of the murder was midnight, right? And very few of us have alibis during that time... but (y/n)-chan does."

"Huh?"

"What do you mean?"

He suddenly flushed bright red. "I couldn't sleep last night... so I walked to the cafeteria. And collapsed at a table, fast asleep, was.. (y/n)-chan."

Suddenly, something came over me. "Saihara, that's a lie."

He looked at me in shock. "I was trying to help you! I know you're not the culprit! There's no way you could do something like that!"

"There's no proof for or against me," I murmured. "I think... everyone should vote for me. The murder occurred in my room, after all."

"What? But you didn't do it!" He protested angrily. I was prepared to justify it, but I was suddenly shocked by the responses of my classmates.

"I don't believe it."

"There's no way (y/n) could do something like that!"

"if it wasn't her... then who?"

"Well, let's re-evaluate the crime scene. Rantarou was stabbed in the shower around midnight. What we've failed to notice is that he actually has a dying message next to him."

"Are you for real?"

"Yes... the message was the number one," He nodded.

"The number one, eh? Well, who could that signify? That could be Ouma, because he's a dictator, or maybe someone with the number one in their name..."

"It's pronounced ichi in Japanese, right?" I piped up. "So does anyone have ichi in their name?"

"SHUUICHI!"

The trial room fell silent. Saihara froze up in shock, unsure of how to respond.

"Upupuup! Times up! Let's cast our votes, shall we?" Monokuma laughed, as tears streamed down my face.

Suddenly, everyone began to cast their votes. My eyes lit up in horror as Saihara and I were neck-and-neck in votes. It was safe to say one of us wasn't going to make it out alive. I turned to him, as we both hadn't cast our votes yet. I then nodded, clearing my throat.

"I'm the killer. Vote for me."

I cast my vote for myself, but Saihara also voted for himself. That left us at an even 8 votes for me and 8 for him.

"Upupupu! What's this, a tie?! That's new!" The bear laughed. "The question is, what do I do? Execute both of you, or execute neither?"

"Please spare him..." I pleaded softly. Saihara began to cry, tears streaming down his face. Our classmates remained dead silent.

"Aww.. I was looking forward to a crazy execution!" The bear sulked. "But the truth is, Rantarou Amani actually committed suicide!"

"Suicide?!" I yelled, in shock. "There's no way he could have done that to himself!"

"Upupu! Don't question it, missy! I'm going to spare all of ya!"

I wiped at my eyes. "Really?"

"NOPE! Congratulations, Everyone, (y/n), the ultimate writer, was the killer!"

Everyone turned to me, completely immobile. Tears streamed down my cheeks, and despite my attempts at screaming, no words came it of my mouth.

"There's no way..." Kaede cried.

Saihara ran up to me, grabbing both of my hands. "You didn't do it, did you!?"

I knew deep in my heart that I wasn't the culprit, but I couldn't respond. Saihara wrapped his arms around me, tears staining my clothing.

"Now, it's punishment time!" The bear chorused. "I've prepared a very special execution for you, (y/n)!"

Saihara pulled away from me, a pained look in his eyes. Before I found the bear tugging at my hand, urging me to follow him, I was able to plant a small kiss on his cheek. I followed the bear into the execution room, A few of my classmates begging for me to be spared, before I walked inside, I turned to them all and murmured one more thing with tears in my eyes.

"Thank you."
