{Levi Ackerman}
Title: It Only Took One Minute
Anime: Attack on Titan
A/N: This was originally posted as a one-shot story on its own (you can read it from my works as well) but I decided that I loved it so much that I wanted to make it my first one-shot in this book so enjoy!
---------------------------------
60 Seconds
Levi walked down the highly populated street aimlessly, like he did every other day. He always wondered why he felt like he had to do this, why he felt like he was searching for something.
Levi's life never held any significance to him, and that made him curious about this feeling even more. It was like he was a puzzle that was missing the last piece in order to complete it, or like the last number to a code that unlocked something much, much greater. It bothered him to no end, the feeling he wasn't even sure he could completely describe. He searched day in and day out for the solution to his problem and for some reason, Levi had a feeling that the solution wasn't as far now as it was before.
45 Seconds
If you were to ask Levi what he thought about love and romance, he would tell you it was a waste of time. He knew it, he had tried before, and as you can see that didn't do anything special for him. To the people who would ask him if he had anyone in his life, he would say,
"Why the hell would I be bothered with things like that? Love isn't something I want." But something in the back of Levi's mind told him he was lying to not only that person, but he was also lying to himself. He wanted companionship, oh he wanted it bad, but who was he to come out and say something so..out of character.
30 Seconds
Levi sighed and studied every face he passed on the street. He knew he wouldn't remember them, and they surely wouldn't remember him. He was okay with it though, he didn't want anyone to remember him. Levi just wanted closure for himself, he wanted that emptiness in his heart to go away, and maybe one of those people he walked past could make it so. But not even Levi could know who that person was.
15 Seconds
His whole life, Levi had questioned himself on what his life's purpose was. Levi didn't know why he was put on the earth. To suffer? To endure pain he wanted nothing to do with? To be alone? He even tried talking to a therapist. Ha. What a joke that was. All the woman said was,
"You're overthinking things."
If Levi was "overthinking things," why did he feel so alone and empty inside? He didn't even realize he felt so strongly about the emptiness. And soon enough, he realized it was the only thing he cared about.

Levi furrowed his brow, noticing how his thoughts trailed back to the continuous hollowed emptiness inside of him. What he didn't notice, was that a woman was walking directly towards him. The two people continued to walk, until their bodies collided and they both fell to the ground.
"Ahh!" The woman screamed as her bottom hit the pavement. Levi winced and sighed, looking down at the newly opened wound on his hand. He looked up at the person he had collided with, ready to release his displeasure, but when he locked eyes with her, he kept his mouth closed.
It clicked.
Everything, the loneliness, sadness, emptiness, depression, and anxiety he had been feeling vanished in that very moment. His eyes widened as the girl stood up to help him. He obliged, taking her hand and standing up to properly get a look at the (H/C) girl he had just ran into. She was about to say something but Levi beat her to it.
"Your name.." He said quietly.
"My...name?" The woman asked curiously as she tilted her head.
"Yes..what's your name?" He stared right into her eyes, waiting for her reply.
"It's (Y/N)! Nice to meet you, what's your name?" She asked as she smiled at him gingerly. His heartbeat quicken and his palms got sweaty, Levi couldn't believe it was happening. He took a deep breath, trying not to let the heat of the moment get to him. He said,
"It's Levi...Levi Ackerman." The woman smiled and said,
"It's nice to meet you Levi, but I have to go." She was about to walk away but Levi spinned around like his life depended on it and grabbed her wrist. He moved his charcoal bangs out of his eyes quickly and asked in a desperate tone,
"Will I ever see you again?" The girl smiled and replied,
"I believe you will." She then walked away. Levi stood there in a daze, like he had just learnt something he had been wondering his whole life. Levi watched her figure disappear into the crowd and couldn't help but feel anticipation for their next meeting.
Levi then realized, that this whole time with loneliness and depression was completely worth it, because in just one minute, 60 seconds, it had been lifted. Lifted by the one thing he thought he would never have.
A beautiful thing called Love.
