@Bored_NGL sent me another story again!!! Yay!!!! This one I really liked! I hope you enjoy it too! But a little warning ahead of time this does have some um... how should I put this, grown-up topics. But I don't think it should be that bad. 

You wake up to the sound of a scream, You jump out of your bed and rush to your mother's room where she stood in distress. "My water just broke!" You hurry to her side and set her back on the bed, "wait here I'll get help!" You rush out of the room down the stairs and exited your small house in old Corona. Your mother was 9 months pregnant and tonight was finally the night however it was such bad timing.

 You see, when your mother had gotten pregnant your father had left not wanting to deal with a big family. He left you, age 15, with your mother. It had been up to you to provide for the family, luckily you had a decent job working for Quirin, your best friend's father. You spent your days working the fields during the day, and by night you helped Varian with his alchemy projects. Your mother needed help around the house the heavier pregnant she got but you didn't mind. The fact was however you didn't get much rest, Varian had been very worried about you and had been trying to cook up a formula that would wake you up more so you could run better on low sleep. He'd yet to crack the equation though.

 You now ran to the closest house to yours where you knew help would be provided. You banged your fist on Varian and Quirin's door hoping and praying for an answer. "Help please help!" You called still banging on the door, Quirin was there within a minute. "(y/n) what's wrong?" "It's my mom, her water broke!" "Ok stay here and I'll get the medic," Quirin went to run off before stopping, "wait, the medic in old Corona died last week." You got antsy not knowing what to do, "we're going to have to take her to Corona." "Quirin wait..." but he'd already left to hook up his cart and horse. By now Varian was at the door out of breath, "(y/n)....*huff* what're you *wheeze* doing here?" You grab his shoulders and hastily shake him, "my mom's in labor and the old Coronian medic died last week!" Varian grabbed both your hands and calmed you, "its okay we can get her to Corona before she gives birth alright. ''

"You try to breathe as you hear Quirin call you and Varian to the cart, your mother lay in the back on a bunch of pillows and blankets. With Quirin in the driver's seat nothing could stop you. You and Varian sat in the back of the cart with your mom by your side. "(y/n) can I squeeze your hand?" She asked. "Yes of course mom," you assured letting her grass your hand. A contraction came on and you almost heard your hand snap, you wince as you hear your mom yell in pain.

 "(y/n) honey can you do me a favor?" I nodded grimacing in pain. "I need you to check and see if I'm dilated or not." I froze, "w-what?" "She said.." "yes I know what she said Varian but do you know what that consists of!" Varian thought for a moment, "actually no, care to enlighten me?"

 You roll your eyes, "I have to touch her Va-JJ!" Varian's face turned pale and he gagged, "g-gotcha." You turn back to you mother who was huffing and puffing now, "do I have to?" "Varian sweetie do you think you could..." "No! NO NO NO!" Varian backed away fast into the very corner of the cart and held his knees to his chest, traumatized.

 Mom looked back to me, "I rest my case." You sigh and take one of the blankets from the floor of the cart and put it over your mom's bottom half. It took every in you not to gag as you pull down her undergarments and placed your fingers to it. You retract your hand quickly realizing its 4 fingers wide, you bite your lip and show her the measurement. "I need to start pushing now," "WHAT!? Can't you wait?" Your mom shook her head, "I can't stall any longer, it's time."

 You begin to have a panic attack, "Quirin can you deliver this baby!?" "No," his voice boomed from the cart's front. "I need to navigate," "well can't this thing go any faster?" "Not if you want to crash." You sigh, "I can't believe I'm doing this." As your mother begins to push you look to Varian for help. "Var can ya help me?" Varian looks up momentarily, "yeah I could try..." Varian leans toward you when he notices some blood. "Nope nope nope nope nope," he retreats back to his safe corner trying his best not to pass out. You sigh once again, "it's up to me now."

 2 long hours had passed till your mom had made her final push revealing a perfect little boy. You catch him and examine him, he looked alright, so you thought. You take your knife and cut his umbilical cord, "he's beautiful mom, disgustingly covered in your blood and juices but beautiful...I think at least." "C-can I see him?" Varian asked from his seat perking up. "Um sure just don't faint." Varian stood to meet you when the cart hit a bump sending both you and Varian to the edge. You quickly grab Varian and save his life before he fell out of the cart however dropped the baby in the process.

 You gasp picking the poor child from the carts ground. "holy f**k I just dropped him..." He was just too slippery, with all the...you know what you'd rather not think about what he was covered in. Varian checked his pulse, "he's still alive and breathing, that's good." You breathe out shakily, "mom why don't you hold him." You handed the child to your sleeping mother, who cradled the child in her arms. You sat beside to your best friend as you waited the rest of the ride out. "Why um..why'd you save me back there?" Varian asked. "Hmm?" "I mean you could have saved your newborn brother but you chose me instead, what sense does that make? I'm just a screw-up...a disappointment." 

 "Aw Var don't say that, you are not, I've known you for too long to let you die, we're basically family after all, friends since birth am I right?" Your best friend's eyes twinkle in the light of the moon, "thanks (y/n)." You would have continued but the cart came to a hilt, neither you nor Varian had noticed that you'd snuggled against his body for warmth. You were practically in his lap, his arms wrapped around you. 

 "Mom we're here," you call getting off a now very red Varian. "Mom?" She hadn't replied. You rushed to her side only to feel her cold skin under your touch. "Mom! Quick! Someone help! Please!" Varian rushed to your side and realized the problem, "We need medical assistance now! Someone please!" 

 Some citizens of Corona came out and quickly got your mom and brother to the doctor. You now paced outside the medical hut with Quirin and Varian by your side. "I should have...I should have known sooner.....I coulda...I coulda saved her.." "Don't blame yourself I'm sure she'll be fine." Varian assured you pulling your body into his for a hug. You gratefully let him when a doctor returned from inside the hut. You pull away, Varian's hand still in your grasp. ''Are they alright?" You plead, the doctor looked at you then pulled Quirin aside to talk.

 "Whatever you have to say do it in front of me!" You say angrily. The doctor looks at you then shakes his head, you're eyes widen and your body collapses. Varian caught you before you could hurt yourself "No...no nonno no no..this is my fault!" "No it's not..."

 "But it is!" you say fuming. "I dropped my newborn brother! I didn't check my mom after she gave birth....I-I......I have no family left"

 "That's not true," Varian faced you to him. "You've got me, and my dad, and even Ruddiger, we can be a family." You looked down, "I wasn't enough for my father, just a disappointment...never even gave me a chance to prove myself." Varian lifted your chin. "But you're enough for me and we can be disappointment together," he ocean blue eyes flickered with hope. Your heart lept and you grabbed the collar of his shirt and yanked him to you as you smash your lips to his. 

 His eyes widen with surprise before he eased in the kiss. You pulled away and grasp him into a hug. "Maybe we can be a family after all."

I don't know about you, but I loved that ending when I read it! I've got two oneshots in the process of writing now so it might be a bit longer til you see another one from me. But I'll try my best to get it out to you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!
