(Serena)

The school day ended before I could speak to Ash. I didn't really want to rush through telling him since I had just broke up with Kevin. The rumours that could go around school would drive me crazy, atleast I thought so anyway. To me, it was like deja vu telling Ash my feelings.

"Hey, Mom" I said as I shut the door behind me. There was no answer "Mom?" I called upstairs. I checked every room but she wasn't here.

"She said she would be home" I muttered to myself, just as the phone rang.

I picked it up "Hello?" I said to the person on the other end.

"Serena?" I recognized my Moms voice "I am stuck in traffic so I will be late home, ok?"

I mentally sighed with relief "Ok, I just got home so the doors open"

"Ok honey, bye"

"Bye Mom" I put the phone down and headed to my room.

I threw my bag on the floor and buried myself into my bed. My mind was telling me to call Ash but I wanted to speak to him at school. My mind traced back to the first time I met Ash and the moments we shared leading up to now. These past two months, I have always thought about Ash.

"I wonder if he still likes me" I asked myself, staring at my pillow. I hoped that the time we had been seperated drove him away. But then I remembered.

"I'll be waiting for you"

It made me blush a little and smile. Ash was an amazing person.

Suddenly, I got up to find I had fallen asleep. I looked at my clock and it was 2am. I let my eyes adjust to the dark as my stomach rumbled.

I decided to sneak downstairs and get some food. I crept step by step into the kitchen and saw a chicken sandwich on the side with a note.

Saw you fell asleep, so I made this for when you wake up
Mom

I smiled at the chicken sandwich. I took it up to my room to eat and then took a nap before I needed to wake up for school.

I was awoken by the birds tweeting in the distance. I threw up my arms and stretched. Well, there goes my sleeping schedule. I dragged my feet and headed into the bathroom. I wasn't hungry so I brushed my teeth and got dressed. I still had ten minutes so I went downstairs.

"Morning, Mom" I walked into the kitchen "Just came down to tell you I'm not hungry"

"Ok, I am going to work in two so I'll see you tonight"

"Right, Mom" I shoute back, heading to my room. Time to brush my hair, for ten minutes.

I got to school shortly after and thought about talking to Ash. But, I decided on talking to him at lunch.

"Hey, Serena" Ash came up from behind "quite a nice morning for winter, huh?"

I looked around nervously "Yeah..it-it sure is" I awkwardly replied.

"Are you ok?" Ash looked at me with a worried expression. I instantly nodded.

"Ok? Why would I not be ok?" I asked, I wasn't ok right now.

"You seem a little on edge this morning" He pointed out. I shook my head.

"Well...I am fine" I almost stuttered again but I tried to remain composed.

"Not enough sleep?" He said, ironically.

"The opposite, too much sleep. My schedule is F-U-C-K-E-D"

"So you're sure you're ok?" He repeated his question.

I smiled and turned to Ash "I am ok, ok?"

Ash nodded "ok"

"Will you guys stop saying ok?" Gary appeared behind Ash and I jumped. He was like a ninja.

"Erm... ok?" Ash said with a smile. Gary punched him in the arm and I laughed.

"Lets go to class" I said over the bell. We headed to our respective lessons. I checked the time each hour, waiting for lunch to arrive.

Soon enough, lunch came around and today, I was on the lookout for Ash. I wanted to tell him, I couldn't bottle up my true feelings for him any longer. I noticed Ash walking towards the line with a gleam in his eye. He really loved his food. Just as he reached for a tray I grabbed his hand and pulled him to one side.

"Hey!" He started moaning "I'm going to miss out on the pizza"

"Listen, Ash" I started, searching for the right words to say "I, uh- erm.."

"Yes?" Ash looked impatiently at the growing line.

"Gosh your so dense, Ash" I said, my cheeks going red "I still, well... over these past two months I have realized that you are the one I love, Ash" I caught a breath and waited for Ash. He stared at me in silence, blinking every often. I was worried about his reply.

Wait, Serena has broken up with Kevin, for me?

A grin broke across my face "I have been waiting for the day you would say that" Serena look relieved and we both laughed. I brought her in for a hug "I told you I would wait. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't date anyone else. It wasn't right"

"I wish I realized that sooner" Serena agreed "Now, go get that pizza" She smiled as we broke off. I headed to the line and she headed to the table.

"Sorry, kid we are all out" The lady said. I wasn't even bother anymore. I didn't even feel hungry. I was excited for a new start with Serena. I walked off without caring.

"No pizza today Ash? Wow I am shocked" Iris commented "You never miss pizza"

"Eh" I said, not bothered "It was well worth the miss this week" I sat down and looked over at Serena. She turned to me for a moment and smiled. Definitely worth it.
