My alarm clock began ringing and I knew I was in trouble. I only set my alarm ten minutes be for school incase I overslept. I turned it off and began dashing around the house, brushing my teeth and getting changed, while completely forgetting breakfast.

I knew I had missed the bus so I went to school through the forest. I began sprinting and didn't stop until I reached school. As I reached the gates I heard the bell go. My class was at the other side of the school so I used all of my energy to rush to the art room. I walked in behind everyone else, just in time.

While everyone sat down in their usual seats, as we had the same class, I slumped into my seat and put my head down on the table, panting heavily.

"Ash have you been running?" Serena asked, looking a little uncomfortable.

I nodded and regained my breath "I woke up ten minutes ago so I ran the whole way"

"Lucky you" Serena giggled.

"Today class, we will be starting a new project. I call it 'Vrai Amour' or true love" Ms. Juniper said

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed Serena glance at me, but she seemed really nervous.

I turned to her and whispered "Are you ok, you seem to be acting different"

Ms. Juniper set us of on our posters as Serena looked like she wanted to tell me something.

"It's nothing Ash" She said, turning to her paper and beginning to draw ideas. I gave a mental sigh. Women.

After art we had our gym class. Gym was my favourite class because this year we was all in the same group. I walked into the changing rooms to meet the others.

"Ash!" Gary exclaimed "We thought you was bunking off school. Arrive late?" I nodded my head slightly as we done our handshake and everyone began talking over one and other.

Once we was changed, we headed to the basketball courts while the girls went into the gym hall.

"How has Dawn been on you?" Gary asked Kenny.

Kenny grinned "Better than anything thats been on you"

It was a weird joke because there could have been endless possibilities but we all laughed.

"Always bullying me" Gary murmured.

"Gary don't worry man, just get revenge in todays game" Drew gestured to the court, while we waited for the teacher.

Calem had a new sort of confidence about himself "Well who ever isn't with me is going to lose" He said plainly.

"Where have you taken the Calem we know, impostor!" Gary shouted, jokingly.

"Oh, I threw him in his locker, go get him out" Calem said sarcastically. Gary's face became blank.

"It's on, pretty boy, you'll be lucky if we are on the same team!"

"You could never score more points than me, Gary" Calem challenged.

If there was anything I learnt while on holiday, it was to not challenge Gary.

"Challenge accepted!" We all groaned heavily, but Calem was confused by our behaviour.

Cilan had been quiet the whole time. What was up with him?

Basketball was an intense hour between Gary and Cilan, who spent most of it trying to constantly out do each other. Calem ended up finishing on more points on Gary.

"Next time!" Gary still looked confident that he could do better.

The rest of the schoolday came and went. I got off the school bus with Serena and as we held hands, she was acting weird again.

"Are you sure you're ok, Serena? Something seems up" I said, stopping by my house.

"I already told you, it's nothing" Serena turned around and hugged me "I'll see you tomorrow" I waved and said goodbye.

That night, I called Cilan while we played chess.

"Hey Ash, what's up?" He said down the phone.

I took my turn and spoke "Today you was acting stranger than Serena, is something up?"

Cilan sighed deeply "At the moment I can't say, sorry"

"Oh, I understand" It was something secret and Cilan confirmed that something was up.

We continued to talj and play for another hour before I finally went down for dinner.

"Hey mom, how was work?" I asked, sitting in my usual seat as she handed me a plate.

"Same old, same old" Atleast I have the day off tomorrow, I'll make sure you are on time" She winked and I laughed.

"In my defence, I did make it just in time" I put a forkful of fries in my mouth and my mom smiled.

"With an empty stomach, I bet. I'll make sure breakfast is ready for when you wake up tomorrow" I nodded. My mom was the best.

"Right" I finished my dinner "I am going to go do some work then head to bed" I began to walk upstairs.

My mom followed me up, but went to her bedroom.

"Don't stay up to late. I'll be in here if you need me"

"Ok, mom" I shut my door and fell onto my bed.

Time to find out what Serena is hiding.
